EA has been burning a lot of bridges with me over the past 2 years or so. i'm actually at the point now where i flat out refuse to pay full price for any EA games for the next 2 years, to make up for paying full price for a handful of highly hyped, highly dissappointing games released in 2011 and 2012... i have only 5 game purchases in the past 2 years that i really regret making, 4 of them were EA products

started playing guild wars 2, not really getting into it yet, i miss the skill hunting from guild wars 1, does that show up at all in GW2? so far the game has a weaker intro act than guild wars 1 did, the interface is way more cluttered and the tooltips are less helpful. seems like a major step back in design at this point. but im only a couple hours in.

oh, i didnt even look at the picture.... so if the picture was of sephiroth making out with robocop it would be trolling too? or is there some secret troll message about these two characters being together?
-
actually im not really sure i get it? is it cause they are asking what kind of junky collectible bit to include in DA 3 collectors editions?
-
sounds like those redactors should have kept the preview in, if only to warn away potential buyers.

im not sure i like the idea of it being called numenera: torment (i'd rather torment only be mentioned as inspiration, and not in the title) although i guess it offers some flexibility: other games set in numenera setting could be called "numenera: _______" and completely disengage from the "torment" trappings if so desired

trying to find a fun turn based rpg to play maybe its time to finally replay toee, i haven't played it since it was released, i remember it being pretty ok
-
im on the fence about this project, i think it would make more sense to go to kickstarter once a playable version of WL2 exists so people know that Fargo still can walk the walk right now, it just feels premature, and using the name torment seems very unnecessary, for the reasons that alanschu stated earlier in this thread edit: but that concept art is pretty cool, so im a bit excited about the potential for the game

fallout 1 and 2 are in my top 5 games of all time. I enjoyed fallout 3 for what it was, and i truly loved New Vegas. fallout tactics was ok i guess, but was a pretty major disappointment for me when it was released

i liked the first dmc, it was a new and exciting style of game. then about 20 games all copied it (some good, like ninja gaiden, but most bad). im pretty bored with the genre now. maybe i'll get the new one in a year or two for $5 on a steam sale, but otherwise, not interested. i AM interested in news about the new consoles. if the ps4 is backwards compatible with the ps1-3 then i'll pick one up asap. if its not completely backwards compatible then i'll wait 2-3 years before getting one. im pretty sure i'll be skipping the next xbox. in the last 2 years i have barely touched my xbox 360.

bouncing around between far cry 3 and FTL im not really feeling far cry 3 as much as i was expecting, the first couple hours had me hooked, but after taking down the first dozen or so encampments im starting to feel the game become a bit repetitive. will it get better or does it just continue on the same path of "sneak into hostile territory, take out encampment, climb the array, move on to next region"?

this sounds like awesome gibberish

now i just bring my phone and read internet forums.... but thats often because i tend to buy more expensive books and worry about wear and tear from carrying them around with me

is 24/7 entertainment new? when i was 10 and left the house to go ANYWHERE i brought a book with me.

gaming is fun, so a lot of people will jump through hoops to keep doing it still, if im buying a game that becomes locked to my account (like say, via steam), then you can bet that im going to wait until that game is no longer full price (edit, though i should preface that SOME rare games may still be worth full price to me, even if its heavily drm restricted, ie diablo 3)

well, i did say not counting weekends (i typically play about 4-5 hours on saturday and sunday - of course, some weekends i dont play at all if im busy with travel or other things) and if im sick or my wife is out of town or something i usually end up playing a LOT during that time. still, im sure that finding even 2 hours a day to play will be hard once i have kids, which is not that far in the future now
-
2 hours a day, 5 days a week = 10 hours of gaming a week (not counting extra weekend time) most games are 40 hours or less to play (with shooters and action games usually being only 10 hours, though some rpg's can go as high as 100+) so i average about 15 games a year

playstation controller is highly recommended for dark souls! an xbox controller is still better than keyboard though....

persona 2 is great, persona 3-4 are ok the best persona game is persona 2: eternal punishment note regarding the series: it is EXTREMELY grind heavy. if you like grind heavy games you might not get tired of the grind, but if you dont normally enjoy grinding in rpg's then just skip the series altogether

i generally agree with you, BUT sometimes you spend $5 on a game that you think will only be sort of fun, and it turns out to be really great and surprisingly worthwhile. I picked up mark of the ninja on a whim, and ended up loving it, same as red faction guerilla a few years ago so for only $5 i think its worth gambling "ok i probably wont be that into this, but you never know, and it's only $5 so what the heck i'll give it a try" most of the time i buy a game for that cheap price and end up playing it for less than 2 hours before uninstalling, but i think it's worth the gamble overall considering the possible benefits of course, i'm very genre omnivorous, so its more likely for me to find a "worth it" game than it might be for someone else

superbrothers just finished ep 1, halfway through ep 2 and im getting bored/annoyed the music, style, and atmosphere are great, but the gameplay is very frustrating, why cant i just click where i want to go? why do i have to click and hold? why double clicks for everything? why cant i use the wasd keys? the game feels like it was made by a monkey with good taste in art and music

best sim game = simant. im having deja vu.
