  1. i actually thought that it was a way to avoid having the joker, since the plotline is early batman fighting off 8 assassins and the main villain is black mask, they may not need to use joker at all, sidestepping the mark hamill problem (problem as in, mark hamill wont do the joker voice anymore cause it is too hard on his throat now) thing is, i wonder which assassins they will use? deathstroke is announced deadshot is almost guaranteed lady shiva too the other five.... im sure bigger batman fans have already listed a dozen likely candidates, i give up at 3 lol
  2. i was hoping this thread was gonna be like 30 male single partially employed cake decorator instead its more like "blah blah women blah blah men blah blah" so im outta here!
  3. hmm, i mostly am just looking for a game thats a mix between tie fighter and an rpg (ie gain money to buy better ships/equipment) still, sounds like i might find a lot to enjoy in X3, gonna check that out this weekend or something (its quite affordable on steam)
  4. i have never heard of x3, but that description sounds really fun to me
  5. arkham asylum was amazing, arkham city was good too, so im definitely excited at the idea of a 3rd batman, but because its a new developer on it i'm left feeling a bit skeptical. oh well, wait and see as always
  6. i want to see the rage. i want all the publishers to see it too, so we can finally put a stop to "single player online only" schemes
  7. You know, it's interesting. Me, and many, many other people will always hail Planescape Torment as one of the best games EVER. But if one takes a piece of paper and objectively writes down the pros and cons of PS:T, They come to a strange realization: On paper, Planescape Torment is a horrible game. Consider the gameplay mechanics: 1)extremely limited character customization - no armor choices, no race choices, no class choices at the beginning, and even later you only have 3 very *bland*, uninspired classes to choose from (fighter, theif or mage) 2) The combat is utter crap. even the most ardent PS:T fan admits that this is PS:T's weakest point. 3) The game is filled to capacity with fetch-quests. In the Hive, you are, quite literally a messenger from start to finish (go talk to this guy, go deliver this message to that guy, go find this, go get that. Over and over and over. And this doesn't change from chapter to chapter nor is it limited to just side quests (the Bronze sphere is a fetch quest). 4)Arcade-game-like tedium (see: the modron cube. which, btw, you can do over and over again. And for that matter, *every* dungeon respawns) And the dungeons themselves are simple, single-level maps. (see: under sigil, curst prison; Hive catacombs) It's a testiment to PS:T's outstanding storyline and world richness that 1-4 are dismissed away as nothing of consequence. That they're all acceptable features in an RPG according to the 'old schoolers', and in some cases, seen as wonderful parts of the game! I can assure you though, that these are not the *current* standards of anyone on this forum. If Josh Sawyer comes here tomorrow and announces that Project Eternity will not allow your protagonist to wear armor, or use Ranged weapons, and that the Infinite Dungeon will be just as mindless and monotonous as the Modron cube, it'll cause a sh** storm. It will constitute something UNACCEPTABLE. But again, Planescape got away with it.... in my younger days, i would have written a lot about this post, and how much i disagree with most of it. now i just keep looking for an "unlike" button, and, upon not finding one, comment as follows: unlike.
  8. if both the new xbox and the ps4 lack backwards compatability then i will definitely be getting only one of them. leaning heavily towards the ps4. ps3 proved over time to have the superior catalogue of exclusive games, and the next generation will probably end up the same way
  9. having recently finished tomb raider and bioshock, im not sure what to play next. oh wait, ni no kuni still sitting unopened next to my ps3 ok. problem solved.
  10. just finished it, didn't like it. i forced myself through the last few hours so i could see what happened at the end, but it wasn't worth it, i should have just watched a lets play or something bland story, a few good moments/decent environments, terrible level design, overral weak gameplay. if this had come out a year after bioshock i probably would have really liked it, but honestly, the gameplay feels pretty stale and outdated in 2013, even for a console game. also it manages to feel more linear than bioshock, which felt more linear than system shock 2. the shock series appears to be dramatically dumbed down at this point.
  11. zerg campaign is pretty bad, i say its safe to pass on
  12. im not bothered by the protagonist muttering "hmm, i guess i should find another way in" i AM bothered by writing appearing on the screen flashing "Find Another Entrance"
  13. fun fact: 2 years ago i bought a joystick so i could play tie fighter again, totally worth it.
  14. well i wasnt counting paypal so suck my meow, carpetbagger! ps:
  15. so i guess we really will never see another TIE Fighter game ah well, it wasn't going to ever happen anyway with LA the way it had become
  16. im sticking with my 3.6 prediction
  17. wow, i liked Deus Ex HR, but full mocap for a first person video game sounds like a HUUUUUGE waste of money :/ edit: also, slowtrain jesus haven't seen posts from him in what feels like ages, lol
  18. that screenshot was very impressive, really reminded me of the original torment.
  19. not voiced by bruce campbell???? whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy would they even bother including ash without bruce campbell? i cannot fathom why that would even seem like a remotely good idea
  20. i actually liked the thief trailer. it shows him stealing and running from guards, not slaying dragons and mowing down armies with a gatling crossbow. i thought it was a nice touch having him steal the title at the end too
  21. yeah, not only with steam do i not have to worry about whether or not EA servers are up today if i want to play my games, i can actually unplug the internet from my pc and can still play all my steam games, its a pretty different form of DRM than always online
  22. after AC 3 i will not pay full price for another AC game, that said, i'll pick up the pirate one when it hits $30 or so, because i like pirates...
  23. i have very high hopes for dragons dogma 2, if they can take what worked and minimize what didn't, it could be amazing (i loved dragons dogma, but it has a ton of room for improvement)
  24. the problem with bioshock infinite is that since bioshock came out we've had deus ex HR and dishonored, which has proven that games like system shock 2 and deus ex can still be made profitably in todays post CoD world. bioshock infinite feels like a major step backwards in game design.
