  1. Tell that to Dark Souls and Darksiders (both of them). On the other hand, Sleeping Dogs was also a good PC port. Maybe it's just games with "dark" in the title that do garbage PC ports? well, its not fair to include dark souls in that. the game was ported by a team who had never done work porting a title or developing for pc, and only because a petition by fans encouraged them to do it so calling them out for doing a bad job of it is just kinda mean/unfair
  2. yeah but now with project eternity, i guess we dont need biowares half assed rpg games, now they can make action games all they want (post is only semi-serious)
  3. What RPGs would you compare Dragons Dogma to? I might dreadfully fire up the PS3 again if it's really good. like an easier and slightly more rpg oriented dark souls, its really quite a lot of fun, but has a few design quirks that have really been improved by the new version (ie dark arisen lets you place some teleport crystals around the world so you dont have to do quite as much backtracking as in the original version) its a lot of fun plotting a course through a dangerous area, knowing you need to arrive before nightfall or you could get trapped with no vision and lots of tough enemies around gameplay feels like a much faster version of the combat in dark souls, but definitely not as fast as in games like devil may cry or god of war i think dragons dogma is one of my top 3 games from last year
  4. i dont care about altering the world, i usually prefer smaller scope games (altering the fate of a few small towns would be nice)
  5. i actually didnt really like playing as geralt in the witcher 2. i prefer having more control over my characters personality, not just his actions. the nameless one in torment provides more of a role-play feel than geralt, because he is more of a blank slate whereas geralt has a lot of his personality defined for you right at the beginning. i still thought the witcher 2 was a good game, and im excited for part 3, but if i was allowed to play my own witcher character that i got to make and name i would be A LOT happier
  6. im not attached to thief at all, so i get to be interested in the new game fingers are crossed for something as good as dishonored
  7. volo is making a real point though he is confusing role playing with choice and consequence, but its true that in the witcher you play as Geralt. In many rpg's you play as HERO, which you get to name and create. its a very different experience
  8. so let me get this straight: hotline miami 2, a game about people playing a "game" where they murder people, features a scene where you control an actor in a movie playing a character who is a rapist, and gives you control during that actors rape scene, and before the simulated fake rape commences, the director shouts "cut" to give his actors some more direction or whatever, and then this makes the real life media upset? somewhere out there is a mindblown gif, pretend i posted it here.
  9. I'm pretty sure David Gaider hates homosexuals, because anders and zevran were the most awful and obnoxious characters in their respective games. If Gaider was on a gay rights crusade, wouldn't he make his most awesome and likeable characters the gay ones?
  10. my only problem with the witcher games has been the combat. hopefully they get it fixed for the new one. if it has combat as good as, say, dragons dogma or dark souls then it will probably end up my goty
  11. "good enough" but it could have been great, and someday a great campaign may get released for it well worth the asking price, and worth having backed imo
  12. there were a couple of good levels in mass effect 2 DA2 was pretty much the bottom of the barrel though
  13. been playing a lot of borderlands 2 with my wife. for some reason its the only game she really latched onto in this current console generation. and no, im not married to any members of this forum, just coincidence i suppose. i wonder if the borderlands devs know how many married couples enjoy their game?
  14. i mean, this SOUNDS cool, but how does it work? I, for example, am posting this from a couple of dead raccoons tied to a banjo, and play my games using a centralized tree stump and carving knife. is there some kind of cavern i can clamber into to learn about these "commputters"? (for serious, origin is like, 5 extra mouseclicks, so of course i will not use it) (ok for real serious, i dont like many of EA's policies, so i tend to prefer giving more of my money to other companies whenever possible)
  15. my order of preference disc with no drm digital download with no drm (ie gog) steam at a deep discount if i have to buy something on some other service, then i wait until an ultra deep discount. the only exceptions to this are for games that im DYING to play (ie when diablo 3 came out, i bought it full price despite the strangling DRM it was saddled with)
  16. as volo speaketh, so it shall be! erase the steam everyone. shut it down.
  17. Took a three week break off the internet, gaming etc. You naughty boy Melk, next time let us know Talking about missing regular members does anyone know where Drowsy Emperor is? he probably will be gone for two weeks and then come back and post 40 times a day cause thats how he rollllllls (in a hamster ball)
  18. zzzzzzzz i forgot origin existed. so bioware is really giving up on steam completely? sounds like a bad call to shut out that many customers. i guess i could end up buying it on disc, but then it will probably make me use origin anyway so whats the point i guess somebody wake me up when it hits 75% off on origin (so around the time dragon age 4 gets released?) ............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........................
  19. after ME3 i swore to myself i would not pay full price for the next two bioware games so wake me up when this hits a 50% off steam sale zzzzzzz
  20. only had time to play for 30 minutes so far, but i like what I'm seeing so far. this looks like a solid first effort, and fits a genre I'm so glad is making a comeback (turn based crpgs)
  21. the only good GTA was vice city
  22. ewok gets stolen as a baby and made into a slave on a ship, he shows aptitude for tech stuff and turns out to be a natural shot with a blaster by the age of 7. by 17 he shows mastery of several technical areas, and is an insightful combatant. at the age of 21 he negotiates his release from slavery in exchange for a period as an indentured bounty hunter 10 years later he buys his freedom boom. story that makes "enough" sense for a video game. it took me 30 seconds to make up. why the *** does anyone have a problem with an ewok bounty hunter in star wars, the universe where a race of aquatic jamaican rabbit lizards have giant armies that can go toe-to-toe with annihilator robot armies...
  23. playing a lot of star wars tor, its pretty fun, too much running through open fields though, reminds me of guild wars in that regard, but maybe thats just how MMO games are
