  1. i dont need wipeout (not a fan of the original, so shiny graphics dont sell me on this one - perfect dark hd on the other hand i WILL have) but i plan on getting uncharteds, flower, shatter, pixeljunk, and of course: demons souls (which is half the reason i caved)
  2. dude. dude. DUDE. reapers HAVE TO BE MORRIGANS BABIES! best plot twist ever. i would tip all my hats to bioware. ALL OF THEM.
  3. metal gear solid 4 little big planet yeah i finally caved and bought a ps3. **** sony and their dirtbag **** bull**** no backwards compatibility **** machine i am looking forward to playing call of pripyat once the price drops a little more, the first Stalker was awesome
  4. starcraft 2 diablo 3 alpha protocol new vegas mass effect 3 maybe: red dead redemption alan wake Final Fantasy 13 (I'm losing interest in series unless they can release something as good as 6,7,8, or 9 - unfortunately the new game looks more like the past couple lackluster games, what happened to this series? oh right, hironobu sakaguchi left after 9... proof that one man can make a difference....)
  5. the end boss was just a big t-800 with laser beams. it also made it even more apparent that the reapers are not just a little bit based on the Necrons. wonder if the Nightbringer will show up in the third game?
  6. i like the werewolf quest but the dungeon and forest that you have to slog through is DULL now that the dragon age honeymoon is over, im definitely in agreement that dragon age is no baldurs gate, for the reasons tigranes outlined, there just isnt enough to do outside the main storyline. hell, in baldurs gate 2 there is so much to do in that game i always lose track of where the main storyline even is! that said, dragon age is still a great game, i still think its a bit better than the witcher.
  7. favorite party members in order The good 1. Jack - EXTREMELY grating at first, but for some reason by the end of the game i was happiest that she lived to appear in the 3rd game (maybe because she and miranda were in my party for 90% of the game?) 2. Legion - just too cool, plus, hes one of the most sane characters... yeah, think about what that says re rest of crew 3. Thane - stoic but not boring 4. Miranda - not a big fan of her personality, but sooo useful as a party member, plus, nice model... 5. Mordin - dude is awesome, would be higher up but i just didnt find him useful in combat compared to the above people 5.5 Garrus - good ol garrus, makes for a solid soldier but not incredibly interesting The bad 6. Grunt - didnt really care for him, way too one-note, even for this cast 7. Morinth - super useful abilities, but HORRIBLY ANNOYING AND FUGLY 8. Zaeed - not enough meat to the character, but cool voice 9. Tali - BORING BORING 10. Jacob - BORING BORING BORING why did i write this list? cause im an idiot
  8. so far it looks like all of my predictions and hopes for this game are being met. Based on sawyers past and his comments about fallout 3 in general, im not at all surprised by this good news. viva la vegas! maybe it will do so well that beth will let obsidian make a turn based, lower budget fallout "spin off" for pc yeah right oh well, i take my victories where i find them, and vegas is sounding pretty victorious edit: particularly the new dialogue system and NCR v Legion instead of Bos v Enclave and the hardcore mode (which should just be "normal" difficulty, but i realize why its a better idea to make it a seperate mode
  9. reapers are a really lame villain, the necrons from warhammer 40k are the same but even they are slightly more interesting. mass effect 2 was really damn fun anyway. good villains where oh where have you gone....
  10. I just have to say how totally stoked i am about the dialogue changes a straight over/under check for dialogue skill checks = awesome no need to stupidly quicksave before every dialogue or to game the system by only having a 10% chance at something and just retrying over and over again till success the return of "low IQ" dialogues!!!! helloooooo peoples this is awesome! now if my explosive skills are balls i have the chance to say something really stupid about bombz! but the system is smartly designed because it shows you what the options are so you know you could come back later after improving said skill so that you could actually pass the check and have that awesome discussion about semtex that you know you want to have with the npc. this to me says a return of actually intelligent dialogues like the science talk with myron or the crop rotating discussions instead of the [idiot] so you fight the good fight bull****! PLUS HARDCORE MODE = GOODNESS! fallout nv: now with less need to mod the crap out of the game to make it playable!
  11. i loved the first bioshock but the gameplay was definitely butt i think im gonna skip the sequel, or at least wait till its 10$
  12. arcanum is a buggy mess. the only game i've actually given up completely on before finishing because of bugs. brutal legend had SO MUCH POTENTIAL but ultimately only delivered on story atmosphere and dialogue. same could be said of planescape: torment, but torment was leagues better.... brutal legend was still pretty awesome though, well worth a single playthrough, ESPECIALLY if you love or even like, metal. i should replay company of heroes someday... it was pretty fun if memory serves currently playing: second time through mass effect 2 street fighter 4
  13. so since ncr is in, i wonder if vault city will be in as well? probably not is my guess, but you never know... ncr has the potential to be a much much better "villain" group than the enclave since presumably they wont be quite so obviously black hat then again... the "ranger" in the teaser was about as black hat as one can get without having a nazi armband too.
  14. oh and its a bit late but that was a good review on page ~37 you posted mr.boo i agree with pretty much all of it. imo the game gets bonus points for the incredibly awesome opening cinematic, and the myriad C&C moments (well, we'll see how much consequence really occurs in part 3, but being able to slaughter your whole team via poor decisions and failing to secure the "loyalty" of your crew is pretty damn awesome)
  15. holy crap that sequence is AMAZING. where do these people come from?? oh snap i just realized that was probably just sawyer again...
  16. maybe vegas was rebuilt by an army of self replicating wall-e's ... vegas perhaps avoided being nuked BECAUSE of its nearby military facilities (maybe they actually managed to take out the incoming nuke with some sort of "Star Wars" orbital laser/missile defense system or something?) whatever the reason, they'll hopefully will find a way to make it work with the fallout 1 and 2 lore does this take place shortly after fallout 2? that would rox my soxncox when was fallout 3 supposed to take place in relation to fallout 2? 100 years before or something? damn DC area looked like the bomb fell only a decade ago
  17. looks to me like vegas didnt get hit with a bomb... even vault city was a small town compared to it and they had a geck to use. if vegas wasnt hit then it would be a very valuable place for a burgeoning nation to possess. fight between NCR and .... whoever has been keeping it running so far?
  18. i liked bioshock, the sequel looks like garbage. then again, system shock 2 was fantastic then again, we got different people working on bioshock 2 than those who worked on system shock 2 the people working on bioshock 2 do not give me any confidence whatsoever
  19. im playing street fighter 4 and that downloadable magic the gathering game on xbox live. Speaking of: the magic the gathering game is SUPER fun, i've never played a card game (other than poker) before so this is all new to me but its really really fun to play HOWEVER: does anyone happen to know if there is a way to build your own deck (in this game or any other game)? the game has a "customize" deck option, but you cant actually change the cards in the deck... its weird. anyway, i heard from someone that there is a game you can play where you download cards for money... that seems beyond stupid to me, if i wanted to pay for cards i'd just buy real cards not digital ones. I dont mind paying 50$ for a game, but im not buying more digital cards for it... waiting for mass effect 2 in the mail.
  20. dungeon keeper games would be badass if it would work with vista i couldnt get my discs to work with vista, probably would still be a problem even with gog...
  21. baldurs gate series.... torment.... system shock 1.... i hope its something awesome like BG2, then i can put it on my laptop and carry it around with lugging all those discs everywhere
  22. i've played 3 devil may cry games, one god of war game, and ninja gaiden black. i havent liked any of them, should i bother with bayonetta? probably not. apparently "console action" games are the one genre i dont really enjoy (that and whatever "genre" petz babyz farmville and cooking mama are part of) seriously though its weird, i play shooters and fighting games and rpg's and sidescrollers and 3dplatformer/adventure games (like zelda and shadow of collosus) and rts and turn based strategy and flight sims (ok just tie fighter...) and some sports games and yet i just dont enjoy games like devil may cry and god of war. seems like reviewers always have a hard on for these games but i just havent found one i liked. I liked all the resident evil games, i like silent hill. am i alone in this?
  23. i like the dragon age or fallout 3 drm. that is, a disc check. i dont mind signing online to access my free dlc for dragon age. offline mode on steam works perfectly for me, everytime. Once you configure it (ie download the latest patches for all games then set them all for offline enabled play) you can play offline whenever you want, no need to log online first before you play etc. offline mode on steam is legit, i have gone weeks with my internet disabled and still having full access to all my steam games. I will never purchase a product with DRM more restrictive than steam or dragon age. fact. period. end of statement. punishing the people who actually pay for their games is so massively retarded I cannot wrap my head around it. I support gaming with my $$, you want my $$ then you need to show some respect or I'll go spend my $$ on something else.
  24. SNAP! that is so awesome... y'know i was thinking of just getting pc cause i figured within a week of release a mod would be put out which allows a person to adjust all the prior savegame "settings", but i dont want to get the pc version IF the controls and ui are WORSE than the xbox version like vanilla oblivion on the pc... puke or indigo prophecy... puke at pc controls or the third thief game.... puke fallout 3 was on the line... but mods made the ui much better
  25. i dont think of mass effect as an rpg, i never have. its a shooter with stats and dialogue some people call that an rpg, others dont all i care about is which version i should get 1) continue my game on my xbox 2) get it on pc and lose my save file from the xbox but gain the ability to add mods to the game and maybe have a better interface i cant decide
