  1. awesome, i really am eager to hear about the ui since i didnt play ME 1 on the pc
  2. whoever has this game, how is the pc ui? good? or does it suffer from console-itis?
  3. whats the drm scenario? disc check? or activation limit etc bull****?
  4. ditto that
  5. You'd guess wrong. The decision was mine. I thought the rumors of brainwashing were just that, rumors, but... lol damn i was thinking the same exact thing! poor poor alanschu...
  6. the difference between dragon age on the console v pc was enormous, mass effect not so much correct? so if it stays that same proportional difference as ME 1 then it sounds like it doesnt matter much?
  7. is the pc version just a glorified console port or will it really feel like the superior version (like dragon age) because if its a port i'm just gonna get the 360 version to continue my save but if its really a superior version in every way then i'll get the pc version anyone know???
  8. didnt nwn oc come out before kotor? that wasnt the start of the fall?
  9. holy crap, these guys made rogue warrior??? why on gods earth is anyone even paying attention to this company anymore? the day that game came out every single preview article re AvP should have been cancelled and all people involved should stop caring what happens here. move along. nothing to see. garbage incoming. (unless rebellion is large enough to have multiple dev groups, and the "good" one is working on AvP...)
  10. you absolutely should compile said tale and publish it as an essay on internet logic. i'd read the **** out of it
  11. there is never a good time to hate half life... sorry... half-life = omg!awesome!
  12. Interesting... Why would you reference Charles Dickens if you "live in the now", Killian? Why wouldn't Ismail Kadare be a better choice? Why would you give Charles Dickens credit? Why do I have to read "Hard Times" in class this semester? Should I tell my professor that because she is not "living in the now" and only "now" is important she is "liv(ing) only in stagnation"? Is something which was great once no longer great because time has passed? Or am I to presume that as with one piece of art the same standards should not be upheld? ohhh damn. mega burned by turning his own words against him... well argued good sir. Fallout 3 IS fun, but in a lowest common denominator sort of way... i like my fun to bring with it a deeper satisfaction (ala fallout) it's the difference between a good movie thats fun, like terminator 2, to a lowest common denominator movie thats "fun", like terminator 3. the quality of the first is inarguably superior despite ADVANCED NEW GRAPHICS found in the second. why? one word: quality. im not saying terminator 2 is schindlers list. its a goddamn arnold flick. but it has what i crave, good quality action sci-fi. and terminator 3 is an amusing diversion (or crushing dissapointment if you're a "TRUE" fan) jeez, now that i think about it, the terminator comparison is really very apt for whats happened with fallout...
  13. I'm just collecting opinions, I very much doubt I'd be thrilled about DA-O though I would probably play through it once, much like KOTOR, ME, Jade etc... I have great respect for boo's taste in games (though his horizons i *think* are more limited than my own), i expect he'll like it a tad more than kotor and a fair bit less than the witcher. i myself liked it more than the witcher, and about as much as kotor 2 here for reference is my ranking of crpgs: (these change order sometimes depending on my mood and nostalgia factor) (also, anyone can search if they care, i once posted my all time favorite games list somewhere, though i think i might have left homeworld off it) 1. fallout 2. torment 3. fallout 2 4. baldurs gate1/2 5. dragon age 6. kotor 2 7. witcher 8. mass effect 9. nwn2 10.nwn etcetc
  14. Only if he finds little origami unicorns on his doorstep. WIN!! edit: love the new quote thingy mr. boo
  15. i've got no problem with making ME series into this more action oriented game, so long as they keep making decent crpg products like Dragon Age.
  16. i want FO 4 to be a turn-based isometric rpg but i'll settle for a great game of another type. hey i know, since the only important thing about fallout was the setting, lets make FO4 a puzzle game! set in a wacky 50'sretrofuturewasteland! *disclaimer* I like fallout 3
  17. the narration at the end of F1/2 was great because the narrator explained what happened as a result of your actions, right or wrong, your decisions had an impact on the world, it makes you feel important and vindicated, even if some of the results weren't what you would have wanted. It isn't the game telling you "you are a jerk" its the game telling you "your actions caused the enslavement of an entire community". it's a fact, not a judgment maybe thats what you were saying and im just really slow?
  18. please please please!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. im a little late to the male female char select party, but i almost always pick a female character for 2 very real reasons 1. i feel women in action roles are under-represented (barring a few roles like Lt. Ellen Ripley or Sarah Connor) so i like to choose a female char to appease the liberal feminist pc in me 2. if im gonna stare at someones ass for 50 hours, it better be the ass of a hot chick. to appease the non-pc hypermasculine in me I explained this to my gf once and she agreed with my logic on both counts.
  20. People over the age of 6 watch that voluntarily? Wow. Anyhow, to pull us a little back closer to the ME2 topic, I'm taking suggestions as to which companion I should Virmire in my ME1 playthrough. Female Vanguard, mostly paragon, no romantic entanglements, and I haven't taken any of the humans outside the ship in a very long time. i watch this movie with my friends probably once a year. this movie rocks so hard that you dont even know because you just got rocked out of your mind. (i am 26 and an attorney and my favorite film director is akira kurosawa just to clarify who this movie appeals to) edit: so the whole post isnt off topic: the vorchi are those sorta pirahna looking aliens? do any of them join your party and or have dialogue or are they like the genlocks/hurlocks just a bunch of angry cannon fodder? edit 2: also how badass would it be to have a warhammer 40k mod for mass effect. the system would be decent for a space hulk type game
  21. lol your description of demon souls reminds me of vagrant story. "NONE OF MY WEAPONS DO ANY DAMAGE AGHHHHHHH"
  22. IMO: pyramid head's pyramid head is vaguely reminiscent of a giant threatening phallus, just like the enormous sword he uses to impale people. it also makes him faceless, alien, and really goddamn scary looking
  23. "Why should I? What's in it for me?" "Your bargaining posture is highly dubious, but very well. I will provide you with a new body and new troops to command." "And?" "And nothing! You belong to me now." "I belong to nobody!" "Perhaps I misjudged you. Proceed, on your way to Oblivion." "Argh! No! No, I accept your terms! *more screaming*" "Excellent." Yeah, that almost works for Mass Effect. dude you just made my day week and month! sooooooo awesome! edit: and i LOVE pyramid head as a villain too, although really, the PC is the actual villain in that game (as far as i and my friends interpret it anyway) pyramid head just was a (meta)physical representation of his ... baser instincts.
  24. like homeworld, deus ex, and myth, the game has yet to be surpassed in its genre (if you define said genre somewhat narrowly)
