  1. The game looks similar to Sacred 2. And no, that's not an insult, since Sacred 2 still looks good today.
  2. Both games had some good writing, some bad writing, some good quest design, some bad quest design, and a mediocre plot. See what I did there?
  3. BS their art department is very good, and encounter/level design in most games reaches genius levels at times. Not sure if serious. In fact, I can't think of any good encounter design in any Obsidian game. Think of Act 1 of Neverwinter Nights 2, think of the epic gnolls in MOTB. Art & level design are nothing to write home about either. Patently untrue.
  4. Good old hypocrisy. Not really. FNV still has sucky elements that got carried over from Fallout 3. But at least the story and game world isn't such a big ****up, which is the point here. Not that this belongs into this thread here now, though... The point is that the "hardcore Fallout fans" already hated Fallout 3 when it was just announced by Bethesda because it wasn't 2D isometric. Then when Obsidian made another variation of Fallout 3, suddenly it became awesome because some oldtimers from Interplay/BIS worked on it.
  5. Was Rob Liefeld involved in the art direction?
  6. The First Templar isn't bad either, it's a budget title but pretty much blows DS3 out of the water in every department. It has 2-player co-op.
  7. I only play with FemShep anyway...
  8. They're both annoying bitches, to be honest. Luckily I nuked Ashley.
  9. I don't see why you bring up EPIC. One's character's decisions affecting the game world + how the story plays out is a common staple of modern story-driven RPGs, regardless whether they're personal stories or save-the-world ones. MOTB and KOTOR 2 are both personal stories, but in both games your character's decisions greatly affect the game world. Same goes for the Witcher games, and one could even make a case for Fallout: New Vegas.
  10. I thought Miranda wouldn't be a party member.
  11. I think Morrowind had around 200 books, Oblivion only added 10 or so new ones. So yeah, Kirkbride must've been busy.
  12. I'm sad to say it, but Uncharted is the new Tomb Raider.
  13. http://imgur.com/a/83k8f Some new screenshots
  14. Too many cutscenes & QTE to deserve being called a game.
  15. Skyrim @G4 part 1
  16. Hahaha. They've should just kept on churning out fancy CGI trailers made by Blur to keep fooling their unsuspecting future customers.
  17. Will Patty be a joinable companion? I'm guessing that voodoo chick from the trailer will be one as well.
  18. Arkham City stage demo
  19. I'd like to see more of OverStrike.
  20. Now that you bring it up, combat in Divinity 2 does the job and isn't worse than similar action RPGs. At least you don't have to struggle with the camera so you can click/shoot/fireball your enemies to death in peace. With a better camera, DS3 combat wouldn't be worse than Sacred 2. I hope, at least, that the game is much more playable with a controller.
  21. Personal story aside, does Hawke have any influence on any major events in the game? From what I've seen in LPs, everything major just seemed to happen around the character in cutscenes without the chance to influence them whatsoever. DA:O may have had a "save the world" story, at least your actions had some major influences on the world.
  22. I gave it a try, playing with Anjali. The camera is terrible and makes combat a cluster****. Whenever you dodge, the camera goes all over the place and you lose track of your enemies (a camera fixed behind the character would've helped a lot here). Movement and combat also feels off somehow, like everything is moving through syrup. Things don't feel fast-paced, it's just very sluggish overall. I also don't like the green and blue orbs, it makes me feel like I'm playing Fable. What happened to potions? Level design is also very bad in the demo, it's just following one long corridor. Is the entire game like this? Environments also feel barren and empty. UI feels very consolish. Overall, very disappointing... because I'm sure there's an interesting story hiding underneath it all. But after being spoiled by Divinity 2 & its expansion, which were both outstanding, I really can't bring myself to wade through this.
