  1. I will be so much in joy the day volourn uses quote tags.
  2. I voted for meaningful choices. In general, the shorter the game, as more c&c it should have, imo. If the game is very long, then I am less a fan of it, because I probably won't do more than one or two playthroughs in a very long time (I simply lack the time nowadays to play 60 hour games, as example). Alpha Protocol was fancy in being reasonable short, but featuring so much c&c, that the end could look different in every single playthrough (and I did 9 at least).
  3. Please, guns. There is no reason not to have guns. Think outside the box. /Thread.
  4. The set-up reminds me a lot of the Black Hound. Sounds nice, I am highly interested.
  5. I wonder if any code inXile has added would be useful to PE. It could work both ways down the road. Indeed. Wouldn't mind them sharing code in certain parts. Could make both games better in the end.
  6. Just chillax, man. The real problem is, that people spend too much time on the internet. This made them feel like the kickstarter is going on for two weeks already. Damn, Obsidian didn't talked to us since over two weeks already! They should work on their damn communication skills.
  7. Also the redirection from the Fallout: New Vegas DLC board is going nowhere, because the board has been removed (well, at least I can't find it) from the Bethsoft forum.
  8. I didn't know you need the permission of a country if you make a game set in it.
  9. Why would BIS and the greek gov have bad blood for each other?
  10. If you like the other PB games (Gothic / Risen 1), then you probably will like Risen 2 too. In this case, it would be worth the price.
  11. Yeah. But for me not fun enough to do a second playthrough. I mean, in Risen you at least had two factions to chose between and the quest lines would change a bit. But in Risen 2 there is only guns or voodoo as skill sets to chose from and here I don't feel like replaying the game just to change my skills is worth it. I took voodoo, by the way. Found it more fun looking than guns. Though, I hardly ever used it. Most of the time I was pretty fine with normal sword fights. But anyway... The little monkey was great. I just wish there would have been more situations to use it. Really liked it to roll around, jump through windows, stealing stuff.
  12. I thought all new companions have romance options or something like that.
  13. If there will be a live streamed ks final / ending party, I do expect Obsidianites to pose like that.
  14. I had this open in a tab the whole yesterday. And it is still very hypnotizing.
  15. Indeed, the fps were quite bad in the end. I still had not much a problem with it, though. The trick is to run and jump around all the time, while shooting whatever you see without looking into the beam. :> They probably used a lot effects in this part. Other than there, the game was running smooth with all graphic settings up.
  16. And I just finished Black Mesa. Played around 10 or 11 hours, not exactly sure. The game is of very high quality (for a mod). It is pretty much as I've expected it to be and it's great. Some elements were cut out where I thought it was unneeded, but other than that it improved really good on the original. The additional areas and "puzzle" are a nice addition and I especially like that they didn't made a 1:1 copy of the map layout. The weapon progression is changed and various events in the game are different- both makes the game feel fresh and it adds surprises, even if you know HL1 very well. The combat was challenging (it felt too easy in the beginning, but that changed later), graphic and sound are on top of the ladder as well. All the details in the gameworld, etc. I would go and say that Black Mesa feels like an official remake. Valve should drop the price of HL1 if Black Mesa gets released on Steam... because I really see no reason anymore to play the original (well, except if you want to remember how it was). Now let's wait for the Xen part in 8 years.
  17. The argument of not crippling yourself technically wise because of nostalgia is what gave us Fallout 3. Which I hated. Of course, that lead to New Vegas, which was actually great, but still, not the turn based top down Fallout we all wanted. No it is not. Fallout 3 isn't how it is because birds-eye perspective is technically outdated. It is how it is because Bethesda is doing "what they do best" - first person sandbox games.
  18. If you cripple yourself technic-wise just for nostalgia, you are doing it wrong, imo. They should use the superior technic, which costs them less and is faster to work with. In worst case, they can still add filters and shaders over the whole scene to give it a painted look. Such a thing is not impossible.
  19. Makes no sense. First, the pre-rendered 2D art was a 3D model first too. Therefore building a 3D model, then rendering it to 2D, then cutting it and implementing it into the map is more work than just using the basic 3D model from the go.
  20. I will probably give $300 as soon as I can put money on my virtual credit card again. That's what it should be worth for everyone!
  21. Ok, Black Mesa changed their site, but it is overloaded, as to be expected. Apparently there is a Torrent file, but I couldn't get my hands on it... because the website hosting it is overloaded as well. Only Game Front works for me, but they don't have the main file for download... /Edit: None of the mirror websites works now. All are overloaded, as to be expected.
  22. 6 hours till Black Mesa. The server will probably be horrible overloaded. I hope they provide enough mirrors or torrent file.
  23. And it makes the most sense. The timeframe from DayZ release -> WarZ announcement is way too short to produce a whole new game ready for release in the sooner future. So yeah, they obviously changed the original game when DayZ got the huge hype. While it seems pretty cheap (because it looks extremely similar in features and everything), I still think it was a good move for them... this WarInc material looks rather bad and probably would have failed hard. In the form of WarZ, it might have a chance and also works as direct competition to DayZ, which in return means, we might get higher quality products. I am still not much interested in it, though. :> And apparently WarZ will feature microtransactions, e.g. money for wapons (which you still lose on death). Let's see how this will turn out.
  24. I would like to see less talking and more gameplay. :>
  25. Woop, Sawyer postin' about dem Black Hound and stuff over at his blog.
