  1. Heh, because Gordon talks so much.
  2. EDIT: You can read Obsidian's comments here (just keep scrolling down for September 18th comments starting with "@Steven" for the initial comment and then scroll up to a comment addressed with "@fredgiblet" to see the comment I quoted above). To see it in context, you're going to have to look through the comments of the kickstarter page. Please. He was obviously either contacted by the publisher after this story got featured on sites like Kotaku with an angry "you TOLD them what I SAID???" or figured he'd voluntarily do some light damage control before he got an angry statement like that. If I were CEO of a company I wouldn't be in a huge rush to burn bridges either. The forseeable future might not have them needing to use the services of said publisher, but who knows what the case will be 5 years down the road? No he was not. The follow up comment came short after his first publisher-comment. News sites could have posted that one too- but they didn't because they didn't do research. They just took what people discussed on the forum and pressed the panic button. Gaming "journalists" - probably the worst kind of journalist in the world. Same with Notch from Mojang. He posts something on twitter and a second later the whole internet is abuzz and lives in unreal-world. Just lol.
  3. Wasn't Morrowind for Oblivion shot down by Bethesda? I don't see them allowing Morrowind to Skyrim then.
  4. Half-Life³ open world would just be the next step in the evolution of Bethesda RPGs. Getting rid of all that annoying dialog and filler stuff, going over straight to the combat.
  5. You need to know the game and the english language. :>
  6. I so much hope it won't be a 50 hours game. I probably will never finish it then, looking at the amount of my spare time. I am fine with 20 hours, especially if there will be a lot choice&consequences involved. The scale of Fallout 1 would be super fine for me too. Yeah, actually, I totally prefer a size of Fallout 1.
  7. Well, you always need steam to install / run the game. On GOG, you download it and be done unless you have to redownload the setup file because of whatever reason. Forum badges most likely not before the ks is completed.
  8. They said they would like to do it, but only if it wouldn't hinder the progress of the singleplayer in any kind of way. So yeah, if they get lots of money, the chance increases. I personally don't need a multiplayer modus, unless the game is extremely hack&slay, which I find boring to do alone.
  9. Wait, is the beta key only for $140? What about the $250+? Coz I'd like to get a beta key too. :>
  10. Doubt they'd even contemplate something like that. It would kill a lot of goodwill, and Kickstarter campaigns run on that. Yup. But technically it is a possibility.
  11. Then again, there is nothing that prevents Obsidian from doing "pre-order dlc" and stuff with Gamestop or at least trying. You don't need to be a publisher to get such stuff.
  12. It's Jim Sterling. What'd you expect? I have no clue who that is. He is one of the contributing editors at Destructoid and writes "news" articles and gaming reviews. I don't like him as he manipulates gamers by raging and then exaggerating issues that he knows gamers are passionate about. He does have certain fans though Exactly this.
  13. Man, news media exploiting everything. They make it sound as if someone has put a gun on Feargus head.
  14. A slave companion could be interesting. I mean, not a freed slave... but an actual slave. Bougth from a slave market. But I would make him a fully designed companion, technically. With filled companion slot, real dialog and stuff.
  15. So will it have real domain and stuff? What if the name changes (because I don't think "Project Eternity" will be the final name)? Are you going to change it then or add another one (because of all links that might have been posted by then)?
  16. Yeah, but I always thought that was a neat additional feature.
  17. I won't have time to do wiki work, but: Man, the comment function in the Curse wiki news bits is really annoying to use. As big as a shait Wikia has become, at least the comments were working good. Feels to me like Falloutwiki isn't really growing, due do the fact that people don't talk in the comments section anymore.
  18. Josh, I know what you are doing right now! Hell yeah, I always wanted to post it at least a second time in my life.
  19. You shouldn't be able to resurrect companions.
  20. I want to kill everyone in the whole game world if it suits my mood.
  21. They're sending feelers out, is what they're doing. Trying to worm their way into the only part of the industry that is currently closed off to them Feargus said "NO" to the publishers, which is good, but It makes you wonder if its only a matter of time before Publishers manage to find companies who will say yes. And when that happens, we won't even be able to turn to Kickstarter anymore without seeing Publisher taint. Yeah, but if this comes out to public, it will probably burn the company name. Who would ever give money to them again for a KS project after such betrayal (yeah, let's call it like that)? Probably not many people.
  22. I will be so much in joy the day volourn uses quote tags.
