  1. I find boss fights to be pretty easy with emp grenades, stun gun / peps, by the way. Your enemy can't move anymore and you can blast bullets into him.
  2. Huh, I never needed double takedown. Especially now in my second playthrough I see no reason to invest two points into it. Though, by now I am close to the end again and I've maxed out everything that I find useful.
  3. Looks like first DLC might be set between the scene where Jensen is transporting himself to a location via ship (after the Tong mission). No comm-connection available + the image that was released confirm it pretty much, imo. /Edit: VGTthingy news.
  4. I don't read Tom Clancy. :> Also it's the german version, so I don't know how much it differs to the english original. About the weapon: From a "I know nothing"-readers perspective, I saw no hint about what type of weapon it is. And yeah, if the direct weapon name is written, I somehow expect them to describe it. I mean, stuff like that flying drone mines was described as well, so why not the guns too. Elements like this pretty much give me the feeling that the book was only written for the game nerds who know everything about it already anyway and just want moar. It makes me unable to see the book standing alone. But maybe I only feel this way, because I normally don't read such books. After all it's the first game book I've read since the Resident Evil (1) thing years ago.
  5. Don't know, I am at around 3/4 of the book so far. Will probably finish it until friday. It's an ok-ish book, btw. It's tensing and has atmosphere. I just don't like that you have to know at least something about DX3 to really understand it. Often stuff is only losely described and if you never heard of it, you don't know what the hell is going on. One example being the use of the Diamondback in the early pages. It's said that the gun is used, but you just don't know what gun this is--- it is nowhere said that it's a revolver, etc. So if you don't know the weapons from the game, you end in questionmarks here. I saw a few of such parts already in the book. Also the sentences are pretty long here and there and unnecessarily interlaced. But that's all I have to nagg about so far... /Edit: Also if you want to play the game as well, I'd suggest to play DX:HR first and read the book later. Else you are going to spoil yourself elements from the games story (while the game doesn't spoil anything big about the book).
  6. Ben Saxon from the book, who left Belltower to join the "Tyrants?" :>
  7. I hope for quest DLCs. Or a Montreal questhub DLC, hurr durr. In any case, I want moar game.
  8. Btw. I saw some mails in the game that are french and not english (at Picus TV office). Bug or feature?
  9. Not good for a new DX game. It pretty much would have made everyone going rampage about how this is Deus Ex in name only. Stuff like that can be tried in the next game, which now most likely will happen.
  10. Heh, I totally want to replay DX1 now. I just wish the Linebacker Diamond Back Revolver would be in there too. :> /Edit: Does someone know if it's possible to buy a replica of the DX:HR revolver somewhere? Not a real gun, but something that looks like it could be a real gun. That would be fancy. I for sure would spend some money on it. :>
  11. Heh, that was my first "now you gonna pay"-moment too. First time in the game that I used non-non-lethal weapons without any negative feelings.
  12. Strange, I can't remember this. Must be a bug or so. But then again, I never kill anyone in the Battery Park anyway.. I just sneak past everything. /Edit: Or have you done something to make the guards outside to kill everyone in the inside? That counts for you too, if I remember correct. :>
  13. I somehow wish that the Hengsha hub would have been a bit bigger, with one or two more side quests. The location is big enough to support that. Or yeah, another quest hub in america. Maybe New York, where you accidentally blast off the head of the Statue of Liberty or so. :>
  14. You can make your own face anyway, so who cares? Same with male Shepard. I just can't see that default face. It's totally not my style, no-ho.
  15. Huh, didn't even knew that you can walk by when the light isn't on. For me, they always exploded when I came too close... always. Not that it mattered much, though. They only have been a problem near that radio antenna in Detroit, but exploding the mines didn't triggered any alarm, so I didn't really cared. Can't understand why "DX(1) hardcore vets" should talk negative about DXHR, though. For me it's pretty much the first game all over again... with slight changes here and there due to the age. And I keep replaying DX1 at least once a year since forever or so. Beside, you just have to ask yourself one question: How often do we get new games from old franchises, which pretty much feel like the old game(s)?
  16. Finished it, love it. Starting over again now. I can understand why that grenade launcher mission was cut from the final game, though. From it's quality it feels different to me than the rest of the game. Also it feels like it doesn't belong into the game anymore. I mean, I like that more content was added due to pre-order bonus, but yeah... I see why it was cut out in the first place. The grenade launcher is really very powerful. You don't find much ammo for it, but I still found it worth to eat up inventory space. :> /Edit: Btw, either I am blind or I have seen not a single ingame advert in the whole game.
  17. Slept only 4 hours the night, rest of the day was playing DX3. I really like it so far, though that doesn't surprise me now. The boss fights are a bit meh, but not as bad as I've imagined them after reading what other people wrote. Lots of stuff to explore in the gameworld, lots of stuff to hack (a bit too much, isn't it? edit: In DX1 it was hacking and lockpick, which made it feel more varied. In DX3 you have only hacking, over and over again-- kind of a little overkill for me), but beside this, a really good game. Though, the game feels a bit more linear to me than DX1. I know that DX1 wasn't more "free" as well, but it didn't felt much like that. Anyway, love the revolver with explosive thingy modification and my stun gun. I rarely use anything else.
  18. Blah. Postal dude was here today, but I wasn't. Now I can go to the postal office tomorrow... Just because of the damn postident from Amazon.

I just can't believe that not a single german news site is reporting about that the whole thing might be faked.
  20. Patrolling the mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter for sure could get some additional lines. I'd pay 5 bucks for it, too.
  21. Hong Kong in DX1 was great too. Best area in the whole game. :>
  22. So, some weapons can be bought from traders, but what about the rest then? Will they be hidden in the gameworld, like the unique weapons that are in the game already, or will NPCs walk around with them? /Edit: Btw. I find it interesting, that GRA costs 40% of the previous DLCs. I would have thought it's even less expensive, because you have no new written text, no new NPCs with voices, no new big scripts, no new world space, etc. I can't really imagine that. Are the new models and textures so expensive?
  23. I am reading about weapon mod quality all the time, not only here but in other fora too. But it seems like people are forgotting one thing: The DLCs are released on console as well, so you have to take care of the resources you are using. A modder doesn't care about that, he can make textures and high poly models as much as he want to, it probably will run on the pc for most people. On the console, on the other hand, big texture packs and stuff can slow down the whole shizzle, make the loading times longer, etc. and you can't upgrade the hardware. Not saying that a single weapon will result in this, but if everything has too much high resolution stuff, it's going down the ****ter. Remember, Hoover Dam, New Vegas Strip, etc. was splittet up as well, simply because of the performance.
