Star Citizen
At the moment, no. In the future, probably. Depending on your "insurance".

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - CON SEASON
I see no point in recreating the same graphic assets over and over again. They already exist, they have a reasonable quality, so why not use them?

Man, considering these prices, that's some pure garbage DLCs. Looks like even Oblivion Horse Armor had a better price value.

Is there a list of these paid mods somewhere? I can't find anything about it.

What are you playing right now?
Isn't it just a beta release? Probably better to wait some more weeks.

lol @ Bethsoft creativity. They are so incapable of coming up with good new factions, so they have to milk the existing ones over and over and over again. The Enclave should have been gone with Fo2 already, the BoS shouldn't even exist at this point of time on this side of the world... It's just so hard to ignore for me. Even though I really don't want to care, I somehow still do.

lol, Red Dead Redemption 2 needs 150gb space on the PS4, not just 100gb. Did they forgot about file compression?

You can expect the same for RDR2 Online.

I'm confused as to how they can have nothing to work on in game dev. In my experience, there is always something to work on. Other than that, I'm very much against doing overtime for the sake of it. Hell, I'm even against overtime in general if it isn't really justified. Also I absolutely loath the "but the bosses do 100 hour weeks as well!"-argument, because the generic company grunts salary and amenities probably don't compare at all to that of the bosses.

What did you do today?
Every time I've seen forumite's pictures (and Missy had a lot of them in the days of yore to gawk at) I was sorely disappointed that they don't look like their avatars. Could print out avatars as masks, and everyone is forced to wear them.

Couple years back I had a secretary job. 6 hours a day... There was nothing to do, just sitting around, waiting for the telephone to ring about twice per day. It was hell on earth. Was super happy when I got away from there. Such a huge waste of time...

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - CON SEASON
Star Citizen is actually very special. Even if the game fails, I'm pretty sure they will have no problem at all to sell their technology to someone else. The article is a tiny bit misleading. Yes, the alpha 3.3 did add face over IP and ships and stuff like that, but the main reason people are revisiting it right now is the new container streaming. Suddenly the game has *good fps* for the very first time in almost *all* situations. This is the first time, the game is *really* playable for a majority of players. This is a big thing, because if this tech is 100% completed (which it still isn't right now), they will have no problems with increasing the scope of the universe to whatever size they want. This is not a dream, you can actually see this ingame right now... and the fps won't tank like crazy. I know this doesn't sound like THAT much, as other games have world streaming as well, but no other game allows you to start on a space station, walk around that station, board a ship, fly around a planet that is bigger than any other game world (except Daggerfall), land on said planet, get a ground vehicle, drive anywhere on said huge planet, get back into a ship, fly to another planet 1 billion kilometers away and do exactly the same, all the while being able to meet other players at any time. Sure, in the end the game can still suck and be super boring, but the tech is very impressive.

That. You don't know a whole lot about TES lore, do you? Well, that was ages ago. The folks working on it back in the days aren't at Bethsoft anymore since before Oblivion happened.

26°C today. It'll be 20+ for the next week as well. Personally I don't mind it at all.. the only problem is the serious lack of any rain for months.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - CON SEASON
I can only speak for myself, but I'm not even expecting anything like Fo1 or Fo2 anymore. And that's not really a problem. There's new games. New Vegas for example, is one of my all-time favs, ever. It's just such a good game all around, despite the plenty flaws. Bethesda Fallouts, however, even if you remove all the names from the lore, still would be crappy games for me. Their so much praised world design is just a theme park, their lore is all over the place for *anything*, the gameplay loop usually is just boring, they use level scaling to remove any kind of troubles you might get while "exploring", I have yet to see an rpg game from them in the past 10+ years that doesn't have a complete bs story, and retarded, oversimplified dialog. Eh, I could go on some more, but what's the point? Their games sell, always, which means people love this kinda crap.

Rumours about acquisition by Microsoft

It's Bethesda. Wouldn't be their Fallout game if they wouldn't ruin everything, no?

Cinéma vérité - and all other types
Watched Ant-Man and the Wasp yesterday. Was not bad, but not as good as the first one, imo. Also for being called "Ant-Man and the Wasp", I think there was not really enough Ant-Man and the Wasp in it. And I would have liked it to go out a little more with his security company pals. They really should get more attention, imo.

Rumours about acquisition by Microsoft
At this point, I'm pretty sure we've already discussed that Pillars is technically not owned by Obsidian, but another company run by the Obsidian founders. /edit: Found it. Dark Rock Industries is the owner. https://trademarks.justia.com/owners/dark-rock-industries-limited-3316531/
