I'm curious why you are calling it that?

Commandos: Desperados: Shadow Tactics: The graphic style of Shadow Tactics fits Desperados a lot more.
-
It's not the graphic style that is bad, I just don't see it fitting for a Commandos themed game. I could see it fit with Desperados, though.
-
Maybe, but please not with the same graphic style. :>

We played Men of War in coop back in the days. Was hella fun, especially because you can split tasks easily. I took care of all the soldierboys, friend 1 took care of tanks and friend 2 did everything else.

I finally got around to finish Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak. Really liked it a lot, even though I did a weird break of 1 year inbetween this playthrough. Shame that it doesn't offer more, especially anything modding or map making... Really, it's like every RTS that can't be modded will be dead within a year (at max) after its release. This just sucks so hard.
-
You needed WHOLE 45 minutes to download 33gb?! What kind of backwater village do you live in?
-
Making mods is the best start, I guess. You'll develop a portfolio and you can show what you're actually capable of.

Got em out since over 10 years now (all 4). I'm back at work now... dentist couldn't find anything. This sucks, because I still feel some pain. No idea what now.
-
I'm sitting at the dentist right now. Will probably take a couple hours. Had slight pain already the past few weeks, but always ignored it. Yesterday I've noticed that the pain got stronger... didn't want to risk it further, so here I am now. :/

Tetris is a puzzle game, Commandos is a Tactical Stealth/Espionage game. There is nothing "tactical" about Commandos. Except when you're cheesing the ai, most missions even only have one path of completion. You'll always have to take down guard x first, otherwise every other guard in the area will see you. Jagged Alliance is tactical, Commandos is not. Why would you call it an "espionage game"? Because of the story? If you strip out the story, you'll get a more advanced Mikado, like I've already posted.

Wanted to play the new dlc on release, played for some hours, then crash. Thanks to the great savegame system I lost god knows how much progress. Didn't bothered with starting it up again. Will have to search for an updated version of the always-saving mod before I can pick it up again. Though I've read the new dlc is kinda mediocre at best, so I might as well just wait for the next dlc...

Commandos is more a puzzle game similar to something like Mikado, while JA is not. Granted, later installments in the series diluted this fact with ****ty gameplay and map design, but Commandos 1 + expansion are exactly that. You can't just sneak your way to the scenario goal, you always have to take out enemy soldiers on your way (in a mostly pre-determined setup due to sight lines, patrol routes, etc), with the toys you get specifically assigned by the mission designer. You don't chose your starting soldiers, and you don't choose which one you'll use and which one you won't -- if the mission is well designed (as was done most of the time in Beyond the Call of Duty and at least half the time in Behind Enemy Lines), you'll always have to use at least two to three of them at the same time. Also I refuse to call Commandos a "stealth game" ... while yes, careful moves and avoiding of enemy alert modes is a part of the gameplay, it's not like you often have a choice. Sounding the alarm will drastically increase enemy presence and in some cases make it impossible to finish a mission. This is usually not the case in "real" stealth games, e.g. thief, dishonored, prey, splinter cell, etc. etc. tl;dr - Commandos is a puzzle game. I'm not sure if Kalypso Media understands this and I'm not even cautious optimistic. On the other hand, though, after what Commandos has become by now... how much worse can it really get? PS: I think Commandos 2 is mediocre and I never bothered with more than mission 1 of Commandos 3, because I found the changed interface to be cancerous and crap.

I'd love to play the game more, but the game loves to crash my pc so hard, it'll go into bluescreen mode.
-
Commandos and Jagged Alliance have barely anything in common. Always hated it when people compared both games.
-
Didn't everyone slammed it back in the days? Didn't know there are already 4 seasons out.

After I broke my right hand and woke up from surgery, apparently I only talked in english. One of the nurses asked me if I can speak german too and only then I realized what has happened. Was an interesting experience...

Still playing Ghost Recon Wildlands. It's samey, but I haven't burned out on it yet (probably won't play through it, though, as far as I know me). What I find completely retarded are all the "tips you didn't know" videos on youtube for that game. Every single one of these videos is talking about completely obvious stuff... almost as if there is nothing in this game that you won't know after playing it for an hour or two. Seriously, this game is not rocket science. It's not like MGS5 where you unlock new toys while playing, which can completely change or at least influence the gameplay in a way... which IMO is exactly the problem with Wildland. Yes, there are a bazillion weapons to unlock, but so what? In the end they don't make a difference at all. The tl;dr of everything is - it's mostly a visual change. Camo doesn't seem to matter, enemy patrols don't follow you for longer than half a kilometer, enemy bases don't care about each other (reinforcements are spanwed and not "moved" from outpost to outpost), it all feels just so limited. Back in the days of MGS5 release, lots of people complained about silly stuff like the fulton extraction or the cardboard boxes, etc. but honest truth-- these things make the game fun. Are they realistic? No. Does it matter to the gameplay? No. The different (mostly overpowered) items, the different buddies, spawning with or without vehicles, it all makes a difference to your playstyle. Wildlands has nothing like this to offer, which is a real shame. The sandbox is there, but it's lacking in features and interactions. Ugh, this shouldn't be a rant post originally.. just wanted to mention that youtube thing. But yeah, after I've got that out, this is the problem with the game (for me) and why I think MGS5 is the superior sandbox, even though it is not perfect either for multiple reasons.

If she does that, I have no doubt Trump will win again.

New Prey update. Wow, this is EXACTLY what I wanted! :>

Wait, wait, wait... people believe that factory made milk substitutes are healthier than what the mother produces in her body, which has kept humanity alive since day one? Jesus, looks like we deserve to die of cancer and everything.

Speaking of MGS5, I can't recall a game that went from "OMG this is awesome" to "Uh .. what?" from the first half of the game to the second half. The repeating missions in the second half just dropped it down for me. That's because the game was "done" with the first chapter. The second chapter is just "bonus" content. I guess they shouldn't have called it chapter 1 and 2 in the first place. Better would have been "story" and "epilog" or something like that... At least it wouldn't have confused players so much.
-
Yeah, the game is obviously made with multiplayer in mind. It's underlined even more with the party ai in singleplayer being dumb as a brick. Hell, they were so lazy about it, enemy ai is completely ignoring them, which leads to scenes like this: Their aiming is pretty crappy most of the time as well. So you have the choice of 3-hit-sync cheat killing enemies, or them fake-shooting each other for show. It's just depressing.

Man, her twitter is a goldmine of cringe. Pretty sure she would have been fired from her job anyway sooner or later.

Bought Ghost Recon Wildlands for cheap and... it looks really cool. The missions, though... they all look exactly the same. I'm just in the second province, but feeling like I've seen it all already. You get close to an outpost or a base, you mark all enemies with your drone, then you sync-shoot them until you are either done or alarm goes off, in which case you just mow down everything easily. If you're not doing this, then you collect resource points for unlocking skills and bonus stuff. Only bought it because people compared it to MGS5, which kinda is true in a way. Big open world, outposts, stuff to shoot... but MGS5 does everything just so much better even though it also repeats mission types over and over again. Maybe it's the general gameplay that feels just so much better in MGS5. The way you move around, the aiming, etc... it's all a lot smoother. No idea (yet).
