  1. There was a rumor in one of our local gamingsites that Microsoft and Lionhead have teamed up for a "next gen" RPG. Sources are Linkedin with a message that "This discussion is no longer available" and this twitterpage, which also doesn't seem to have anything anymore. Has there been anything about this elsewhere? Wasn't project North Carolina to be a Microsoft "next gen" title?
  2. This is what I was talking about. People just leaving and none coiming in. The concrete decline of my favorite gamedeveloper. I mean... ****. What happens next, where does all this lead to with nothing positive to counter this? It's just, sad.
  3. I think I read you can skip it now? Hmm, have to try if that actually is the case.
  4. Does the EE patch for TW2 require me to start a new game? I had a save just at the beginning of chapter 1, and I'd very much not want to crawl through the prologue again this soon.
  5. Yes, still around 90+. The layoffs were big (Though the last two seem to have happened after those. But they don't have to be layoffs at all), but its not like Obsidian is now a 10 man company. I know. Was trying to be sarcastic at the flow of "This person is leaving Obsidian" news against the lack of good news. Every time I come here, it seems, I can read that a handful of people have left, but noone's come in and no positive announcements are made.
  6. Are there still people left to leave...
  7. PST, VtMB and Arcanum spiritual successors -- with MCA, Tim Cain and J.E. Sawyer at leading positions. Other than those... Dungeon Keeper 3 (and it being closer to DK than DK2), and maybe another Steel Panthers game by Gary Grisby.
  8. That is certainly a concern. I would very much like to see what they'd come up with this. But right now I can't be anything but happy (and wishful that the 2.1 mil mark is reached). My interest rate of this project just doubled.
  9. I'd think it's more about the prospect of having a modern iteration of an oldschool style of game in general, which aren't really made anymore -- not so much to just get a Fallout clone (though, admittedly that's what some people expect). At least that's my personal stance.
  10. It's all in Buck's article already, they resized the South Park team/it was affected too. I don't think it will get canceled, but between that and the THQ problems it's certainly not in the best position. It does sound like a project Matt Stone and Trey Parker care about a lot, so I think they'll try to make it work out in some way. Hopefully it works out for Obsidz too in the end. So it is. Don't know how I managed to miss that part. So it's all going more or less downhill now... that's just wonderful.
  11. What? Is South Park at peril too?
  12. I just got in good moods with the Wasteland 2 stuff, and now this has to happen. I hope Obsidian gets their issues solved and a good publisher for whatever they're doing without any further misfortunes.
  13. 115$ down. Now just rolling my thumbs for the next 34 days, and after Kickstarter success, for the next 18 or so months. 80,000 in little over 3 hours. That's good.
  14. That sounds great. But, even though I've already put aside my 100 bucks for that, I get this strange worry (which I cannot even fully explain), that they might "overdo" the oldschool in their oldschool RPG. You know there's a forum where they discuss this stuff. If you're worried about the design be too dated go there and tell them, complaining here about your feeling won't really accomplish much. You have the chance to communicate with the team directly, use it! I am a part of that that forum. And I'm not really complaining as there's nothing to base such on, just commenting on the subject since you posted the link.

  16. Thanks for the round up, guess I won't be bothering with ME2 or 3 in a while.
  17. I liked the DAO gameplay over the ME one, it was more reminiscent of the old days (even thought it was flawed). But I fairly liked the story flow of ME (not that it was anything special), but not enought to go on for the second. And now, they're both (ME 2 and 3) at the lips of everyone, and I can't comprehend why.
  18. I had somewhat fun with the first but not enough to bother with the second, and I really didn't see what was the appeal for it (to give a contrast, I did see the appeal for Halo, for one meaningless example). I'd be very interested to learn what people liked about the series (outside of Bio forums, which are ****ed).
  19. Is this game really worth of all the hype and discussion it spurs? I mean, I played through the first and found nothing really spectacular... and reading about the second doesn't really encourage any thinking...
  20. Thanks.
  21. What's Tim Cain's "job title"? Designer, senior programmer...?
  22. No argument there.
  23. A lego house with a sad monkeyhead on top getting buried under an avalanche?
  24. There anyone left at Obsidian anymore? Come one funcroc, some good news for a change will ya.
  25. Can't think of any recent games that could be held as a classic and spoken of for years to come. I know I'll have fond memories of Risen, New Vegas and Witcher 2 for a long time, but I can't really say if they can be count as to-be-classics.
