  1. Watched women's football. Canada got wrecked by the French, who played pretty damn well.
  2. And why is Google+ any better?
  3. Heh, this just reminds me of WAR's launch when people claimed they ripped off WoW for having..action bars or the hp display, etc. Only so many ways you can show that info well. WoW did change the MMO market, I guess, everyone needs WoW numbers or it's a failure
  4. I hear WoW invented MMOGs.
  5. Am confused by all this grief at some cop who bought it doing a traffic stop. At least the comments on the news articles are troll-worthy though, claims of heroism, the ultimate sacrifice and some claim that the 15 year olds could have gone on to kill someone. Should be a good way to pass the time Also Happy Birthday Shryke, hopefully you live to see the next one.
  6. Sorted out my CD-R collection, amazing how many of them are unlabelled. Tomorrow or on my day off I'll go through the pile and ID the unknowns and bin the ones I don't want or don't play anymore.
  7. Isn't that...sort of cheating? I mean you abuse the camera to look around a wall that your character shouldn't be able to see in his current position...it feels really cheap and what's wrong with just leaning? Also I haven't played R6 or the DXHR leak, but judging from video previews the constant switching between 3rd person and 1st person looks really disorientating and quite unnecessary...I'm guessing it's not that bad when you actually play it? Heh in a game like R6, yeah it's cheating. But Vegas was a pretty pathetic Rainbow Six game, pretty fun FPS though. In DX3, it's not that big a deal, although it would be cool to deny people that superb awareness. Beware the fans though, heh.
  8. Well that's good if you're blind when in cover, makes sense to not have some sort of omniscience about the combat zone.
  9. Job's not thaaaat bad But always looking, anyway
  10. Sometimes it's fun and cool to work with, but trying to do crap like pass in several arguments involves some mindscrewing stack operations that's not immediately clear, makes debugging and maintenance a pain. But the comments (in production code) that read "Errr not sure what the hell this does?" or "Screw it, this kinda works" do make it chuckleworthy.
  11. I suggest you sleep more. Also I'm going into consulting.
  12. What was so special about Vegas' cover system ? If I recall from playing it, it was the same routine other than the "blind" firing, maybe I've forgotten something.
  13. You people are weird.
  14. Shame they didn't use some FP cover system, then again only game that had that was VC I think.
  15. Useful to know for work, around here anyway., might be likewise where he is (or is just him being curious, heh). C is more fun to play with. Anything is more fun that this language I'm working with, yay proprietary stack based language. Combined with crackhead Englishmen that think misleading comments is the way to go.
  16. Amused at the AC dying due to...a dirty air filter. Ah well. Found out the project I'm working on is truly screwy as the high level spec has changed and I still don't have a tech spec. So sort of doing my own spec which will end up being wrong in all likelihood. Also amusing.
  17. But he has a cool voice and shades. And angst and that transhumanism stuff.
  18. LA Noir Boss responds
  19. That is pretty low.
  20. This "not being able to do work" thing is pretty cool. Haven't had a Monday this fun in ages!
  21. One downside to sharing photos, heh.
  22. I recall a friend that got engaged recently. Never seen a man post so many photos of his girlfriend (with sappy comments to boot!). Then again, I can understand people doubting her existence. Server room's AC is dead so no work at the moment, debating to pass the time reading work stuff or perusing Wikipedia for interesting things.
  23. Neither does the right. Or any label.
  24. No one's really pissed off about the price of the vanity items. It's about non-vanity items ever ever showing up on the Noble Exchange (the microtransaction market). Right now they're flying all the CSMs to Iceland for a meeting on this and other stuff like communication with the CSM etc. Pretty interesting weekend, people are overly livid and need to calm down a tonne, heh.
  25. Time to figure out the editor!
