  1. I think it's developers who claim statistical losses that are probably based on bunk. Would be neat if someone did a proper study on all of this, but ah well.
  2. http://www.heresy-online.net/forums/showthread.php?t=98069 Short of it, guy finds a book accidentally included within another book.
  3. Yes, but then any game we play we can take as beta testing. In terms of their cycle, it's not a beta (largely didn't play like one in my experience either), unless CDPR is undertaking some really byzantine scheme involving one project actually being a stage of another and is also charging their UAT users, heh. Still maintain no one's flakking them for this, is because there's nothing there. Then again, if it's ideas/concepts they're "beta"'ing, well I guess, that could work. But every developer does that with a release, no ? Has anyone played with the new patch by the way ? Granted I think everyone here who played it was done with it after beating it, so probably a 'no', hehe.
  4. Half the fun in FIFA is dealing with the BS AI. Well at least the cheats, the programmed vulnerabilities does wear a bit (as fun as it is to paste Barcelona 15-2 )
  5. Kind of silly to have a few days when you must 'spare' the air. Feels good, I guess.
  6. Funny day. Got an email from regional manager telling me to go meet some guy I've never heard of in some building we don't have a client in. Then a follow up mail saying "Wrong person. Forget this was sent to you".
  7. One more piracy article
  8. Well here smokers do pay hefty sales taxes for the privelege. Is weird though, the anti-smoking people here seem to want everything BUT to make them flat out illegal.
  9. Try not to die.
  10. You could also look up what a beta and beta-testing entails Anyway, it's nothing to get joyfully excited about, but nothing wrong with people being pleased with support of a game or for the company to keep on fixing issues or adjusting things due to feedback. Blizzard's good for that, for example. And it is a good standard to have, providing fixes and what not (it's what I do all day, woo!) Crafty Poles indeed. First the GOG prank, and now this Ah, much nicer when I have coffee.
  11. Never actually seen anyone use the patch notes alone though and do that. Though, maybe I need to read more forums.
  12. Still too pricey.
  13. As a result of that going around the office, coworker says Dune was boring and overly descriptive.
  14. Probably useless to you all.
  15. Well the joke I had planned would have probably.
  16. How dare you break from the Hive Mind.
  17. I had assumed otherwise, but thanks for making me check. "The special offer for Broken Sword is valid until October 1, at 7:59 a.m. EDT (11:59 a.m. GMT), so be sure to grab it by then and don
  18. Well, you're just on a different strand of IBJ then, no ? I've never ever seen a beta used as a prototype though, usually it's a more broken version of whatever you end up releasing. It has all planned features in, is somewhat stable, so on. Maybe it's different in game development than here though. I think the reason people aren't raging on about this sinister conspiracy by CDPR is that well there's nothing there.
  19. Maybe she had a charming personality
  20. Could have fooled me, the Nasri situation had people despising the man personally for just leaving one job for another, ridiculous to me but I guess people want to be ultras, heh Ah well, is a rare situation I can laugh at every side of the issue. 500,000 pound fine though, pretty hefty.
  21. Yeah, but they're from a past generation. New ones are a lot more mercenary. And it is just a job too (fans still have yet to clue in on this).
  22. Loyalty in football ? Good joke. I'll agree that it is pretty silly to do on a stage like that, will probably get him sacked or more (FIFA VP wants him banned from all football for it though) so he might come out worse for wear.
  23. Well it is sort of proper, not accounting for the amount that are actual bugs or ones that are just features customers didn't like. Although not so much as to claim the game is a beta, which players call games that are busted and suffer from significant bugs (see Arma 2 on launch) or so I've seen over time. Although I guess Arma 2 was a beta for OA, which is a beta for Arma 3. Much ado over nothing, I guess.
  24. Still in Max Payne. Had way too much trouble with Muerte. Should also look for the Kung Fu mod, that was fun although they nerfed the guns immensely and the rifle is OP.
  25. It's 'visceral', man.
