  1. Playing J.U.L.I.A. So far it's not too bad, only really enjoy unraveling what happened on the planets where people got killed. But does seem like it's a bit dragged out and the puzzles, at least on two planets so far, seem easy and repetitive. Alternating that with SWAT 4. Game needs a sequel with not many changes, sure is a blast to play and trying to plan things dynamically is pretty enjoyable - well, when it works. Oddity is the hostiles being deaf to automatic gunfire in a nearby room. Also have the same issues I had in R6 where the AI team members can't quite toss a grenade into the room and we end up flashbanging or gassing ourselves. Slowly learning to not just kill everyone as I move through the map, too.
  2. Seems like Epstein's death is more due to incompetence.
  3. Hordes of riot cops I guess ?

  5. Finished The Moment of Silence. It's not terrible, I liked the setting and story now that it is completed, even if it does sort of speed up at the end (seems common with adventure games) but niggling things like the camera system, long travel times, boring PC and poor hotspot higlighting draw back from it. Sort of funny to play a 2004 game talking about some AI that is monitoring all global communications with all the attendant conspiracy, concerns and paranois. The last puzzle is such a tedious exercise too, running around between three screens needlessly when they could have done the same without it all. Puzzles weren't too bad, except for the timed ones - one has you waiting for a microwave to finish heating food.
  6. Only Democrats ? Hm. Seems like this guy is like Gerald Bull in terms of who could have wanted him dead. Then again, may be as simple as incompetence from jailers letting this happen. Life is boring that way sometimes.
  7. Epstein's dead apparently - https://edition.cnn.com/2019/08/10/us/jeffrey-epstein-death/index.html
  8. You think they'd just make their own version of Twitter rather than cry about it. Related - https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/09/tech/white-house-social-media-executive-order-fcc-ftc/index.html
  9. Dura lex, sed lex, I guess.
  10. I dunno, Derek Smart's games sure seemed liked they were trying to kill me with frustration.
  11. From my experience, it certainly is plausible that US Customs agents are Nazi scumbags.
  12. Shame the guy didn't get killed, would be a better lesson for such stunts.
  13. " They've also declined to answer questions about whether any employers had been arrested or would face charges. " Seems odd to be coy about that.
  14. I'd be surprised if knew there was a Berlin Wall. Well, still better than the guy that boasted he had never heard of Islam before 9/11
  15. Always is odd to come across people that have never heard of things that they really should have. Talking to coworker about Chernobyl as I have been reading a book on it at work and the guy said he'd never heard of it before the HBO show. Guy's almost 40 so I'm confused.
  16. Well, you have my sympathies, suppose I should not have been so flippant in my post so apologies for that.
  17. Hopefully said person is dead or in jail for a good long time...else it might still be you. Still though, that's pretty messed up.
  18. Toni Morrison
  19. Multiplayer games are to blame.
  20. Finished Voices from Chernobyl. Good read, was nice to put names at least to the event and was interesting hearing perspectives on it. Certainly was depressing to read the tales of the kids in Belarus affected by it. Now have some 40k novels to knock off, while I look for something interesting.
  21. Still grinding along through Moment of Silence. Game has some weird design or at least it feels so to me with respect to the movement, dialogue trees. Borders of some screens isn't really clear and can end up snapping back and forth between two perspectives. Main character runs slowly too and the travel's pretty tedious. Dialogue also works very weirdly, find myself talking to characters about new things apropos of nothing at all or mentioning people that have never been introduced. Glad I paid under $10 for this, even if the setting is interesting and I like the backgrounds.
  22. Seems straightforward enough, they are catching heat for having a very unpopular customer and not a good hill to die on.
  23. Well, technically it might have - Dayton shooting had cops on him in under a minute. But he still killed 9. Seems somewhat strange to consider 'acceptable' levels of homicide and amateurs with guns are of dubious value in some situations - a lot may shoot each other in the confusion. Also consider that that stance seems to push for universal armament which is probably going to kill more due to road rage :P
  24. Cloudfare put a bullet in 8chan's head. - https://new.blog.cloudflare.com/terminating-service-for-8chan/ Time to check usual places for fruitless and raging arguments about free speech. Well, ok, will save that for working hours.
