  1. Just a joke about concerns of sovereignty, never were any rules even with Euros crying about in 2022. Seems quite successful so far, this offensive is probably a better idea than the one last year - at the very least no trailer telegraphing it. People sure do get carried away with it, calling for nukes or some left hook to cut off the Russians in the south. Although, if Russia were to nuke their own soil, wonder how that'd play out. Also funny is the US asking for an explanation - I guess they still can't use US gear in Russia proper
  2. Because gamers are discerning and intelligent people.
  3. Which I didn't say it did. But whatever. I am curious how Ukraine will try to gin up support in Africa elsewhere though. Ukraine making gains in this, well I guess it's an offensive now, captured Sudzha People getting ahead of themselves with ideas they'll seize Kursk NPP or something more grandiose.
  4. Who said they spoke for all? Ukraine hasn't won African nations over yet, clearly they feel a need for it (opinions of Podoliak aside). Three are annoyed with them, so just looks like a poor start. Surprised not heard a peep about this Kursk advance in the news here. Maybe waiting to report on success.
  5. Доброе утро, последний герой!

  6. Niger cut off relations, Senegal next maybe. https://www.reuters.com/world/niger-cuts-ties-with-ukraine-over-comments-mali-wagner-attack-2024-08-06/ For whatever that's worth
  7. Another incursion, Kursk this time. Using Strykers as well. Guess it's to try to pin down Russian resources, maybe aviation bait? Lee's thoughts on it https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1820892991067754636.html
  8. Rules apply to those we like I guess. Good luck to Ukraine getting the Global South on side for the next joke of a peace summit. Although who knows, maybe battlefield will have changed more by November.
  9. That's sort of what I'm getting at, it's not really from gaming rather there's an avenue to lock in and, uh, "manage" customers like that, so of course they'd use it. My company taking money from customers for a product that barely works and they barely use comes to mind. Really bizaree how financial firms spend their money sometimes.
  10. Given the fiasco with John Deere, a precedent's not needed. I guess in a certain way we've been here before, with Apple and maybe IBM going further back ? Largely will be a lot of independent scuffles in given industries, I feel. But I don't think either way gaming will die, it'll just be more an intolerable pain in the ass, which it has been for me for 15 years or so at this point, heh.
  11. https://news.sky.com/story/uk-riots-latest-far-right-southport-live-13186819 Hopefully PL starting soon will calm them down
  12. Yep, quite a small period, especially for people logging in to find themselves lvl 20 from 120. Prepatch event is funny, having homages to fun quests like boar livers, the Green Hills of Stranglethorn or Hogger.
  13. Whoops, double post. He's very wrong about **** customers knowing and feeling shame for being **** though
  14. Why is it highly likely that they took it from gaming? Seems just how would go as the opportunity is there, so if gaming's "saved", they'll still lock in, or try to lock in people with tractors, or toasters or whatever. So seems independent of a lot else, was just one of his selling points that didn't work with me I'd expect non-AAA gaming wouldn't have the means for these systems, and programming is more and more accessible these days. More of a worst case scenario, heh, well or if "saving" is the right term. I still don't think it's worth saving though
  15. Ah, didn't realize the Russians were banned from Artistic Swimming effectively. They've owned that event for 20 years.
  16. Canada lost in football to Germany, that was good. Some atrocious penalties, still amazed they beat Sweden last time
  17. Not really convinced that if they save gaming from this, other industries won't have similar features - so this really isn't the 'canary in the coal mine'. Always will be non-AAA gaming as well.

  19. She doesn't hit extraordinarily harder from what past women have said. More importantly https://www.theguardian.com/sport/article/2024/aug/01/giorgia-villa-cheese-parmesan-photos-gymnast-italy-olympics Big Parma, hah
  20. WoW prepatch event is far too slow and isn't very fun. Sad. The Legion one was the best they've had so far. Ah well. Not much time for other stuff, have been amusing myself with the Arma 2 editor, watching the braindead AI handle tanks like the 40k meme - "Drive me closer.." - taking a T-90 to near point blank range to hit a pickup truck with an APFSDS round
  21. Decent trade, I guess. Russian spies and assassins are free but I suppose that's not a huge deal. Trump denounced it as the worst deal ever, yet ?
  22. Maybe. Hard for me to get past my amusement at gamers' gnashing of teeth though.
