What you did today
Watched two Dogfights episodes last night, truly US airmen are Gods of War. Funny bit, though, US pilot and his wingman jump a Fw190 that's trailing smoke and running. So the pilots jump him, the German bails out and low altitude, bounces off the ground and dies in a nasty way. Then the US pilot recalls how bad he felt seeing the man die.

Bioware's New Game
Nah, polish usually gets attributed to a whole assortment of stuff like world details etc. Did manage to track back some of the whining, people did complain about the combat, still think that's a PEBKAC, but people are so. So I guess you're right about AP. In any event, that's a pick on an implementation, not the idea *shrug*

Bioware's New Game
Presuming the PC-skill dependent aiming (as weak as it was) was the main or a significant problem people had with AP. Don't recall it being so, was mostly bleating on about bugs and the nebulous "lack of polish" (CD Projekt should have been involved), etc.

FO: NV (General Discussion)
The mere idea of fan VAs scares me to no end. Then again, people make all kinds of worrying mods for Bethesda's games.

Well BC2's sale is over, missed my chance.

Bioware's New Game
Well I see what's wrong with it, now. The players are trash.

Bioware's New Game
The peek-a-boo shooting got tiresome, but I agree was a good change from the drama. I don't see what's wrong with mixing the two, just have the PC's skil affect the player's aim, scope sway, reticle spread, etc. Nice abstraction. As for the timed dialogue, I doubt they'll give you 5 seconds to make a choice. AP gave you a fair amount of time (never clocked it). Also you have the NPC's audio and the dialogue choices in ME aren't that long so accessibility (the actual version) shouldn't be a problem.

Ambivalent about that, really, didn't dig much of the changes. Interesting timing for that as well. As an aside, have to like LinkedIn stalking

The day irony died
It's great comedy though, generally.

Korea
Well that was predictable, I guess ROK/US called their bluff. Either that or there's some back room deal that gave Kim what he wanted (Japanese showgirls?).

This is just more proof that it pays to just wait a couple of months or a year or so to buy a game. My friends are bothering me to get BF:BC2, anyone here play it and like it ?
-
STEAM!
Mkay, got the Deus Ex bundle, MI bundle, Pirates and AlternativA. Decent-ish haul, hopefully I actually play some of them.

STEAM!
Hm...anyone play that Alternativa game ?

"Prohibition has failed"
That does seem funny. Was it aimed at "assisted suicide" ?

What are you playing now
Helps when the original maker has some input, I guess. Then again, I'm unsure of how much Meier actually DOES. I should give that game a try, I've had enough of FIFA 11's bull**** at the moment (yeah Peter Crouch can outrun Theo Walcott, uh uh).

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
Glad I never got into games development. Although, that kind of BS is probably common, thankfully I've just had inept and clumsy management rather than evil

The day irony died
He puts a face on it. Easier to hate a man, than some nebulous bunch of hackers you've never seen. Not just the right, though, plenty of liberals here seeing the man as the new Che or Robin Hood (the last one, I dunno, but it's been said).

The day irony died
Always thought he was an anarchist more than anything. Then again, that's just a libertarian in a t-shirt and jeans.

The Cataclysm is coming!
The zones have this familiar quest structure now, at least in Cataclysm. Arrive in, discover grave peril, the solution requires 3 or more parties to help out and you must visit each in turn and do things for them. HMm.

Fancy people. We're just having baked chicken here.

What you did today
No it's not. It's that moment where you realize what you did wrong, and evaluate the damage done. Now the moment after the final exam, when you emerge out of the library/cafeteria/study cave and into the sunlight - that, is the most glorious moment of your life. Man, I miss school.
