  1. Their marketing team is working overtime for this game. Impressive, sort of.
  2. Never heard of this Dragon Age game before.
  3. Got Risen today, I guess I'll give Dragon Rising's mission editor a rest and give it a go.
  4. Heh, sort of like the old days of FA and using an M203 was automatically "nade spamming".
  5. Apparently the early reviews are good, from PC Gamer UK and France.
  6. Nothing wrong with being a soulless code-writer. It's what I aspire to! Anyway, sorry that I missed your joke, just seemed that you'd actually take my comments at their face
  7. Pft, crying yourself to sleep. That would call for Molotov ****tails and pitchforks.
  8. Not sure what the profitability of the game's design matters to my opinion of it, I'm not seeing any of that money. I've accepted that it'll happen and will continue to, just don't believe that it should. It did matter to me for Vegas and GR, for example, because I enjoyed the whole "one shot, one kill" nature of it in SP and MP. But anyway, we just disagree.
  9. Yeah, it'd be a tragedy if Vegas were never made for sure, hehe. In that case (and most of them I'd say) the IP's better off dead than twisted.
  10. Sinister. Mind you, if Modern Warfare leaves the PC platform, it's our gain
  11. Ah, consoles, thanks again.
  12. Still playing on, I have to say the description of this as a Ghost Recon type game is pretty apt, about as good as the first one I'd say. Can't really compare it to Arma 2, as it's not a sim. Shame about the entity limit, really makes these battles kind of pathetic in scope. Who knew the USMC conducted assaults with 20 guys, heh. Not that impressed with the hostile AI, their ridiculous inaccuracy at 100m aside, it eventually devolves into a whack-a-mole with them in cover. Also they can track you through smoke, which is a bit ridiculous. Friendly AI does perform pretty well, at times. One thing I dislike about the campaign is the way you just appear in the field, no indication of being dropped off or whatever. The 4th mission with your fireteam just in the middle of nowhere was amusing to me at the start.
  13. Well not on their head. I knew I should have gone for a center mass shot
  14. Oh that mission was great. I still remember failing because I shot a terrorist with FMJ, so it went through his head and into the hostage.
  15. Hm, I disagree, I found them challenging and fun, not way too unforgiving or dull. Then again, I really enjoyed the planning aspect. You wouldn't get the "epic" firefights you do in Vegas, but Rainbow is supposed to "move silently, and strike like a thunderbolt" or something to that effect . The AI was bad in that it didn't really react to your presence as much as it should so ambushed were pretty easy, something the later ones are still guilty of. The whole appeal of the games was that they were unforgiving and realistic. The later ones sort of trade that for COD-esque non-stop action.
  16. Rogue Spear. Ah, when Rainbow Six was good. I would play Raven Shield but I lost my CDs, feh.
  17. Castles II, good memories of that. Pretty good store, GOG.
  18. Eh they should stick to the roots of a series, but they won't as it won't sell. Sadly that means we get crap like Rainbow Six Vegas, or OpFlash :DR, heh.
  19. Oh totally, mission 3 was fun as I had to redo it maybe 15 times. Finally realized that the AAPV behind me had no crew so I just hopped in, turned on the cheat that is FLIR in this game and wasted maybe 50 Chinese with the grenade launcher. Sad how useless teammate AI is some of the time (or how pathetic our landing force was...3 IFVs and maybe 20 infantry)
  20. Dragon Rising. Really loving this checkpoint based save system.
  21. Well, it's not as punishing as the first one. I'm on hardcore and have been shot a couple of times without dying - I did get incapacitated and revived by an AI medic. So far it's not an awful game, but only on the second mission so far. Noticing some odd AI behaviours though, I should have been spotted by some AI troops but they only reacted once I was spotted by some other unit.
  22. Always wonder how Three Dog learns of your deeds anyway. It'd be nice to hear radio reports of some other adventurer being a hero or villian, too.
  23. Anyone try this yet ? Trying to glean info from the games official forum is a bit difficult with all the apparent COD tards, and reviews are unreliable in most cases.
