I recall a friend that got engaged recently. Never seen a man post so many photos of his girlfriend (with sappy comments to boot!). Then again, I can understand people doubting her existence. Server room's AC is dead so no work at the moment, debating to pass the time reading work stuff or perusing Wikipedia for interesting things.

No one's really pissed off about the price of the vanity items. It's about non-vanity items ever ever showing up on the Noble Exchange (the microtransaction market). Right now they're flying all the CSMs to Iceland for a meeting on this and other stuff like communication with the CSM etc. Pretty interesting weekend, people are overly livid and need to calm down a tonne, heh.

Got some Interplay games off GoG, have all of them except Shogo, so I'm playing that now.

Huh ? Why, excellent (other than you people disliking MMOGs, anyway ) ? Might be overreaction, but was a leaked email from the CEO which has an odd attitude and seems dismissive of the fans' rejection of 'pay to win' type of sales. Hopefully this won't start some sort of death spiral for EVE, or EVE as it is now, seems unlikely for the former, latter seems likely. Impressive amount of rage though.

That's the vanity items. But people are worried that based on the internal discussions, you can buy Tech3 ships and equipment for dollars rather than working for the ISK to get it. Also, that kind of stuff is just out of thin air in the game universe, which goes against EVE's whole player run economy (sort of anyway) aspect.

Major hell in EVE now. Devs apparently plan to have micro-transactions for ships, ammo, etc. rather than just vanity items from a leaked internal newsletter, people are mightily pissed off. Lots of "This is EVE's NGE moment", etc. Hrmm.

So turns out even your serfs in SMAC dsilike you committing genocide, bah! Bigger war. Or can just quit, already won via transcendence. Can never seem to win other ways. Hmph.
