  1. E3 has been getting more and more disappointing over the years, unless I'm just being stubborn and ignoring the good things.
  2. Yeah, Hostel was a disappointment. Silent Hill was actually good. I was quite impressed.
  3. If you forget it was a game it's the best horror movie I've seen in a long while. If you try to compare it to the game you'll find yourself liking it less. Yet, I still find it the best Game to Movie conversion. Go see it.
  4. Currently listening to/reading a the "How short is too short." Thread. Amusing and annoying - listening to people debate their opinion as if it were factual.
  5. Brotherhood of the Wolf Silent Hill
  6. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn + Throne of Bhaal Nightmare Creatures Series Silent Hill Series Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords Vampire Masquerade: Bloodline
  7. I really have to question the "How long is the minimum we should expect for $50?" question. When you think about it, for a good majority out there, the new engine and revamped toolset is worth $50 alone. It has a single player. One could put many many hours into Everquest II and World of Warcraft. You have quests, character development and a few short stories. That's $15 per month. Are the people who say that really that concerned? Perhaps you're just superior robots that can speed read, or perhaps you just blow through the dialog then skim the journal to see what you need to do. Take your time and enjoy the game. If it tells a good story, the controls are in your favor and you never have to complain about the camera - what is there really to complain about? That's worth $50 to me. Though, as I always say: To each his/her own.
  8. It heavily depends on what the group your is interested in. I find it really hard to enjoy PnP with a DM style that I and my companions dislike. Players can be whiney and perceptive with the wrong things. Unfortunately with the groups I've played with they always strayed from the plot to dwell on their own characters. Wasn't very fun. So it's really a combination of what the DM & players want.
  9. I wish I could say I'd like to, but I wouldn't want to play HOTU. I've been playing NWN online since the first month of it's released. I'm quite a bit burned out on it. I also have the XP's on CDs so that's 5 cds to install. Very inconvenient just to walk someone through on how to play HOTU multiplayer. The key is is patience and working with the game rather than just blowing through it. -As for the well, make sure you click on the dome then the rope/hatch to get to undermountain rather than speaking with the Inn Keeper. - Cut scenes: Be patient and let the dialog go through. Never had an NPC attack me while the dialog was going unless it was scripted to do so. Then again, I was probably playing as a rogue and was stealthed while the dialog started. *shrugs* The game works in multiplayer it's just a matter if you're willing to be able to think of work arounds. There was not a part in the game where my friend(s) and I ever became "stuck." Good luck.
  10. I've played through all of the official campaigns multiplayer, online and LAN, and have had no troubles what so ever. The only exception being the rare lock/up and crash that. Though, I know NWN has been known for causing the client to crash. Usually in instances with mass spell effects on older machines. Heh, surprises me what kind of machines people still play it on. Lowest settings possible and they still chug at 7 fps. *shakes his head laughing*
  11. I'd say over 10 hours at the absolute minimum. It really depends on how I feel when I come to the end of the game. Generally, if a game is ends with just a boss battle... and then cuts to the credits, I'm going to feel a little cheated - if that's the last game in the series. If a game only lasts 5 hours of actual play and 60 hours of scrolling through dialog, I'm going to be disappointed as well. It really all depends on how I feel about the game as a whole. Most cRPGs really aren't RPGs in my opinion. They're just story telling action/adventure games with choices in dialog, but it's all a matter of opinion. If I'm statisfied when the I confront the reason I bought the game, then the game is worth it. Street Fighter only takes 10 minutes to beat yet I've gotten well over a few thousand hours and counting in my life thus far. But, it's not a cRPG. NWN's OC, well, lengthening or shortening it couldn't have saved it from my absense of pleasure with it.
  12. Here I go to install it and now I realize that I need the expansion pack. That' disappoints me, now I have to wait longer.
  13. *laughs* I think the reason IWD took so long was that forest. I bet I spent 10 hours just on that part alone.
  14. I think so. Might have to get a Dev or someone to look into it just because I'm -that- curious now.
  15. I own the games, I should just fine a way to do some file conversions. I'm not sure how legal it actually is to download them from an unofficial source, so I shall refrain from it. Hopefully someone will have an official say in it. If not... *shrugs* I hope for NWN2 to have a good OST. Heh heh.
  16. True. If he doesn't like the game and wishes to judge it's purchase on inaccurate information*, that's fine by me. It's not going to effect my enjoyment of it. *According to Mr. Sawyer.
  17. Just makes me wonder how long it'll actually taken, given all of the side quests and actually reading the dialog and not using any walkthroughs. *shrugs* I'm purchasing it for a PW project I'm helping with. The OC is merely a fringe-benefit. To each his/her own.
  18. I recall on the ol' Interplay site there was a section that allowed users to download the soundtracks to quite a few of their games. Who all owns the music now?
  19. Well, I say fat kids need to learn how to read. I think Judge Hades is super human. Quick hand/finger reflexes (which I"m sure the Ms. doesn't complain about), and a speed reader. Hades, I enjoy your reviews, but can I honestly expect to not see one about NWN2 until it hits the $20 mark?
  20. *laughs* Some of you guys would be far better off exiting the electronic gaming community. If you want hours upon hours upon hours of gaming, play PNP. I always spot "Fallout! Baldur's Gate! [insert Another Game here]!" Times change. Long, long, RPGs are fading. The RPG market was stale for quite sometime as well. If you honestly feel that a game's length is a reflection of it's story telling and depth, so be it. It just seems that the people who do so are just limiting themselves to enjoyment. Those who seem to complain about such want a game more like the ones that have already been made, yet they're bored of the ones that have already been made. ... How do you plan on ever enjoying any video game if you're prejudging it before even playing it?
