  1. I encourage you to make a homemade explosive device and have it delivered to that guy. Scratch that, I strongly encourage it. Put nails in it along with polystyrene and a flammable liquid. Would that be considered flaming?
  2. "Umph! Umph! Umph!" *creek, grumble, scrape, slide* Wow! Look at that 8-foot cube move!
  3. *le sigh* I just beat Quake 4... Now I wait until September 5th for Quake Wars: Enemy Territory.
  4. Simply put there's no superior OS. It's all a matter of preference. Kind of like asking someone "What's your favorite color?' I just hope to see more game options on other OS's besides Windows. I've stated my reasons and from what I can roughly browse through in my head, my statements/debate is complete.
  5. I play CoD 2 at least once a week. The audio in the game is amazing as are many of the visuals. The only complaint I have about the game is the way a person generates health. It's only a half complaint though because I don't really dislike it. I'm more neutral. As for people saying it's too easy: Play on a harder difficulty setting. It is my firm belief that every game should be played on Normal or Hard(er). Otherwise you might as well just run through with God Mode on.
  6. I have a Linux/Windows Dual Boot: I play NWN, DooM 3, and Quake 4 all in Linux. Not because I don't like Microsoft either. It's simply because of performance. Hell, I spend most of my time in Ubuntu. I quite enjoy how stable and secure it is. It'd be nice to beable to play more than half of a handful of high grade games without using a Windows emulator. If there was an OS specifically designed for gaming, I wouldn't own it. I do quite a few other things besides it and the only reason Windows currently does them well is because of the lack of alternative support from 3rd parties. I want to beable to play more games without getting a blue screen of death. I want to beable to browse the web without having to worry much about malicious software that gets installed without my concent. I'd like to beable to do that and many other things on one operating system.
  7. OpenGL is only more superior in versatility as far as I understand. Otherwise wouldn't we have more OpenGL based games thus more cross platform games in the PC world?
  8. DooM was pretty amazing for just being on the GBA.
  9. Anyway, we wouldn't be getting a Linux/Mac port unless Atari gave the green light for it and Obsidian would take to make it. I was thinking about what I said about not getting a Linux port because it's DirectX but I've been playing around in some games and have noticed a Direct X / OpenGL option in a few of them. Going back, I recall Halflife giving a Direct3D / OpenGL. I'm taking a shot in the dark, but it'd be possible, but they'd have to do a lot more work than if it was just coded in Open GL. I also find it kind of ... suspicious (I guess) that nothing is being said about it anywhere. Only "If you have something to say about a Linux/Mac client post on the Atari boards." At BioWare your posts are now automaticly deleted - They don't even have a discussion on it. It also makes me think that "they" (being everyone involved) are (or being told to) putting a lid on it and just waiting for it to simmer down and completely die off without flat out saying "No, no Linux." It's just a bit boggling about the Linux server, too. I thought it was the status quo to have a Linux Server w/ all games... // Meh, just blabbing really. Those are my thoughts on it at the moment and are subject to change by being fed correct knowledge. EDIT: I'd just like to thank the Obsidian Staff and Moderator Team for allowing this thread to live. It's nice to actually discuss it.
  10. Dead Alive (aka Braindead), and... Cemetary Man.
  11. I know of the mods, just not a big fan of modding games. It takes the original challenge away from it. It's kind of like cheating - but more accepted.
  12. After finding out that my hardware problems were harddrive failure related... I am now installing Day of Defeat: Source on XP.
  13. I really need to upgrade my system to play the game at it's fullest. It's one of the reasons why I'm being extra sneaky. I'd love to just beat people with a hammer.
  14. 1998 Audi S4 Quattro. Black, Manual Transmission.
  15. I like playing Eeeevil drow. Muah ha ha ha ha ha. I actually played through it with the "War of the Spider Queen" party. It was quite fun.
  16. Well, to get specialist: I didn't kill anyone that was unecessary. When I made my hits it was a shot to the head. Simple enough.
  17. Is "Specialist" a decent tag to earn?
  18. When creating my party I got frustrated because of the lack of monks, cleric deities, barbarians... I literally just sat there with an angry look on my face trying to rethink the party I had planned in my head. Now, I have: Elven Male Fighter/Thief (Melee) Dwarven Male Fighter (Melee) Dwarven Male Fighter/Cleric (Melee) Human Female Cleirc (Melee) Human Female Thief (Shortbow) Elven Female Wizard (Sling)
  19. The sarcastic humor must've flown a bit too high.
