NWN2 Multiplatform Support
Link I'll make it short and sweet: Post there to express interest (if you're even interested) in Neverwinter Nights 2 Mac/Unix/Linux ports. Why is this important? A lot of the current NWN servers are run on Linux. I, myself, and transitioning to pure Linux for personal reasons and would like to see it. How about you? [insert begging here with promise of asexual favors] Note: From what I understand the OE guys are fancying the idea but it's Atari's call. Even some of the Atari staff are putting their support in for it.

Atari releasing the BGs & IWDs on cheap DVDs
It was a bad install. One of the main GUI buttons didn't install right. That's what I get for multitasking. Edit: Funny, the 1.06 patch corrupts my game no matter where I download it from.

Downloads
Deciding I wanted to make some Obsidian Ent. backgrounds for my computer, I emulated the origianl ObsEnt logo and decided I would share it with others that wished it. It's pretty big in size and is a transparent PNG so it should accomadate all your needs.

Patched, yes. My stats are in my sig. I uninstalled / reinstalled and it works fine w/ just the core game. Edit: Except I'm in Windows XP until I get my Linux harddrive replaced (fried: Good ol' Texas lightnin')

Bah, everytime I click on "New Game" it crashes. Icewind Dale and I are just not getting along. I might have to play Icewind Dale II instead.

Atari releasing the BGs & IWDs on cheap DVDs
I liked all of the D&D IE games. I could play them and liked it. Something the community had to do for me for NWN. -.- Edit: Ack! Icewind Dale is only playable in 640x480?

Defrag your harddrive and turn off unnecessary programs that you're running in the background. That includes AntiVirus software while you're playing.

Icewind Dale OST
I lost my OST CD so I decided to use the TeamBG tool that extracts the audio files into .wavs. The problem is, the songs are broken up to about fifty (literally) files. Some songs have mutiple starts and ends for randomness in the game. I quick found a program that I had that enabled mass selection and import. It doesn't always have them in alpha-numeric order either. So I get to play with it. Then I get to save it to 320kbps Vorbis. All in all this takes about 15-20 minutes per track. At this point in time I wish three things: 1) I didn't lose my OST disc. 2) The Interplay site w/ the tracks to download was still up. 3) It was legally aquirable by other simple means via P2P. (I checked, it's impossible to find anyway) This is really starting to piss me off.

Ooo, I should install IWD. I've yet to make it through that one. Same with BG & BGII... Heh, odd. Edit: Why in Hell don't we have the DVD collectors edition in the US?!

I'm thinking about it, but besides this thread, there's very little I'd really use it for that I don't already have a replacement for.

Must be the Texas stupidity wearing off on me. Anyway, What Amazon.com advertises and what other stores sell are fairly accurate. But their actually stock is highly more expanded than a standard retail store. That includes the retail store's online site as well. They may have a little more but it's not something I'd count on - ever.

What are you playing ...
Damn you all for making me want to reinstall Windows.

Um, have you ever browsed Amazon.com? They have things my local record store couldn't custom order. That's saying quite a bit. *Edit: fixed a werd, yo

Don't know if this is already common knowledge
It held my interest. Only because I was bored at the time, though. Never did beat the game. I think I spent more time playing the Minigames when I unlocked them.

Just installed Eternal Lands.

What game got you hooked?
Gauntlet, DooM, Fatal Fury. After Fatal Fury I got into Street Fighter, Samurai Showdown, King of Fighters. Wasn't until Gauntlet: Dark Legacy taht I played Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. Then got into The PC series and worked backwards.

Picture Thread 2006
You should've seen what happened after the picture. It involved a flying frying pan [at me] for starters. It was returned in melee for 1d10 bludgeoning damage. I like my friends and they like me; in a very odd way.

I'm quite aware of that, but when you start walking into stores and they have nothing that's even slightly interesting it starts to detract a person. PC games are a perfect example. The only thing I see on shelves now are: Guild Wars, Oblivion, World of Warcraft and maybe a shooter or two. Even the console games are being cut to less and less. I even just went into a GameStop that carried no PC titles what so ever. They only had 10 GameCube titles, All of their XBOX stuff was used, a few new PS2 titles, etc, etc. That really isn't what bothered me. I asked simple questions and they could not answer a damn one. They didn't have gamers working there and it was quite obvious. A bit disappointing.

is that using DnD rules? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not entirely sure. There are a lot of mechanics that seem heavily influenced by 2nd ED (How AC is caculated). There aren't any classes yet. But they're doing that in Beta 4, I believe (which is out soon). They're also working on a 3D client.
