Quality of Life: Gathering
McSquirl Nugget replied to Sarahphim24's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
Agree with What @Gnith says but on the Acorns - I've never gotten 2 shells from an acorn, only 1, using both hammers and the mint mallet. I'm wondering if the OP was in an area they randomly drop and thought they got 2? I wouldn't say acorns are too few, you can easily get 2 stacks (20) acorn shells by circling the Oak Tree. However i do agree they should drop more. I'd like to see 2 shells per acorn, 3 on rare occasions, like a perfect break. I think 4 is too many. -
Anyone else seeing this? I built my base by the machine. I have my food chest on the 2nd level on a 'shelf', so it's 2.5 levels above the ground. In the screen shot below i'm standing where the ant was with the thief icon. I then put another floor piece above the 'shelf' and move the food up to the 3rd floor, at the top of my stem walls in the screenshot. While returning to my base after that, i again hear the sound of the thief and see the thief icon appear on an ant on the edge of the water opposite bank of me in the screenshot. I thought this was fixed? You can see my 2 chests on the 'shelf', the farthest one from me is the food chest, closer one is my tools/armor chest. Also at the base of my plank walls i have spike traps that go to the 3rd wall in from left to right, and extend out in front of that leaf to block passage through there. The wall facing the machine is also lined with spike traps. Note: this is on a new game i started after the patch on Friday.

They do sleep. I saw 2 sleeping in the large rocks by the berry bushes. They shouldn't change the whole pathing and respawning system just 'cause you can't find them. Like @Gnith said, get out and play the game. hunt for them. watch the grass around you, if it starts moving go see what's moving it. Lady bugs and wolf spiders are the only bugs that wander the yard that can move the grass. If you're not in an area for the stink bugs or bombardiers it's most likely a lady bug moving the grass.
-
please no, do not do this. we've been inserted into the bug's world. they shouldn't be put on pause just because we sleep, they should continue to do the bug things they're doing. have you checked around the oak tree for lady bugs? i always find a few there, another good place is out in the dead grass area west of the live ant hill.

Multiplayer game breaking bug.
McSquirl Nugget replied to TrailBlazer838's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
it's not a game breaking bug, that by definition would make the game unplayable. Really a frustrating bug though, and it's in their known issues list they're working on. The good thing is, just the image of the containers and such have moved, but they're still usable in their original positions. Take note of where they are when you first join and go to that place and hit your action key to open the invisible chest, etc. -
We have them, you might have to unlock them from Burg.l though. yes i agree, we definitely need these. if you use a foundation or scaffolding the tops will be flat. you may not see it at first but when you leave the area and come back or log out/in they change, at least mine did. i thought it was off by default? at least it is on xbox, we have to hold LB to snap to grid.

Oh Where are you Infected Weevil?
McSquirl Nugget replied to OldManDorf's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
good to know. i save the mint mallet for the wolf spider and tough bugs like that, never tried it on the infected weevils. all the other weapons and tools don't seem to work though when i tried them. -
Mint Container Bug
McSquirl Nugget replied to Cade Goodson's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
Agreed, we shouldn't have to create new games each update to play without bugs. Hopefully that's an issue they're working on. Granted this is in preview and will have some bugs, but the save issues with new patches would be really bad if it happens in the retail release -
that's a bug, i've only had it twice where it constantly shot acid, it's supposed to do that once then physical attacks a few times then shoot acid again and repeat.

the bow is the only weapon i've found so far that will hit them. -
Timescale Suggestion
McSquirl Nugget replied to rlhart1234's topic in Grounded: Feedback & Suggestions
that i agree with, instead of a second real time to a minute game time maybe make 5 to 1, or 10. to 1 -
I get that, and i totally agree, we need ideas for the devs. These just didn't make much sense to me, in how the game is now and where it could go from here, so i asked. I wasn't trying to pick them apart and kill the ideas, really i just wanted clarification in case i was missing something obvious. I'm not the sharpest knife in the block, lots of times i need things further explained to make sense and click in my brain. Drives my son and my co-workers nuts at times @ReteroX are leeches that small? i like the idea, we need some type of danger in the flooded areas, just not sure what.

Cant play the game
McSquirl Nugget replied to SunnyHaven's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
how many save files do you have? some have fixed this by removing past save files, so it's under 10 save files total.- 4 replies

Do we loose everything?
McSquirl Nugget replied to B3AST's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
my guess is we lose it all but get a bonus at release for being "testers". This way they avoid any bugs being brought in by games played in testing to the final release, and can focus on existing bugs then. I know some that have hundreds of days in their game now are going to hate that if it happens. I enjoy building and rebuilding though, so i'm hoping they do the full wipe and give bonuses deal. -

McSquirl Nugget replied to OldManDorf's topic in Grounded: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
you only have to hit them once to get credit for the kill, stick em with an arrow wait till they get close then run from the explosion. They seem to be affected by the spawning issues. my game has them, online games i see don't. -
don't take this the wrong way, Use punctuation and separate paragraphs, please. 90% of people when they read forum threads skip right over posts like this as their too confusing. If you want your post to be read by all make it readable. That said, the freezing may be from too much junk laying around in your world or it could also be your network connection. I've noticed similar issue with my game if my son is also on his xbox playing with his friends. The anthill issues is most likely from a spawn bug, and you have a ton and a half of ants in the tunnels. You'll need to kill them to fix that. Gas arrows seems to be the preferred method. The loading issue is a known issue, i read here in another thread they were hopefully going to have that fixed this morning.

Grass not re-spawning ?
McSquirl Nugget replied to Monkeybiscuits's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
you do have to harvest the stump for it to respawn. Leaving the stump keeps it from respawning, at least from what i've seen. -
Grass not re-spawning ?
McSquirl Nugget replied to Monkeybiscuits's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
did you harvest the stumps? if you haven't it won't respawn. that's how I keep it from growing around my base, leave the stumps. -
Dual Monitor
McSquirl Nugget replied to dub77nj's topic in Grounded: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
typically Windows will remember where you closed the window last. If you open the game on the secondary and then move it ot the primary and close it, in theory it should open there next time. Have you tried that?
