  1. I was still playing practice matches when I made that post. I don't think pros do that. I just suck. Give me your name and identifier so I can add you. Oner.thelazyone You know, your posts not showing up as an Unread Posts mark is kinda...problematic. I'm online now, I'll invite you into a game periodically. We'll play an intro game so you can get the benefit of playing around with various units and their counters.
  2. That I did, but I confess to hoping that apart from the gay romance nonsense it would be a fine game (in my peculiar definition of fine anyway). If it wasn't thrown into my lap though, I wouldn't have played it. Now that I have and seen that the way they make games is definitely set in stone around certain basic principles I dislike so much, I'm convinced that nothing good for me will come of it in the near future. When it comes to the point that I value and enjoy a clunky FPS like Stalker: CoP much more than a Bioware game, then their RPG's obviously aren't for me anymore.
  3. Well, there's Witcher 2 and Fallout: New Vegas to look forward. That's two whole games! Whaa?? So all the decisions made by my dead PC are ignored and reset to default in the expansion? Can anybody confirm this? It's true, it's been causing havoc at bioboards for a while. Not a slightest idea why Bio took that route. There's also Alpha Protocol and Deus Ex 3 (hopefully). Red Dead Redemption is looking excellent as well. Its not an RPG but, beggars can't be choosers. IMO: They took that route because the choices nonsense is terribly hard to implement in a meaningful way over a series of games, especially when they impact major events. The possible outcomes multiply at such a rate that they hog an insane amount of resources. You'll see it in ME3 as well. Very little of what you do in ME2 will have any impact on ME3. If the stories were more personal and the choices related to actual character development of the PC instead of impacting an "epic" storyline or the world at large, they would be feasible. In Bioware games, given their focus on world shaping events the amount of in game content that has to be modified to accommodate various C&C's is too large and too resource intensive.
  4. I've lost all interest in the series, and if the next few Bioware games are to be set in either the ME or DA universes I've lost interest in Bioware itself. The star wars MMO doesn't count since I don't play MMO's anyway. Time to move on and play something else.

  6. Yep. Anyone playing on Blizzard's servers will get that idea. The fact is that they're swamped with pro players and its really hard to get started.
  7. It seems that all the major publishers are going to try and blitzkrieg this DRM into the status quo.
  8. If they hate it I might like it. Then again it might be the lack of romances inducing tantrums.
  9. Fanboy alert. (the reviewer)
  10. Because you can never have enough characters with daddy issues.
  11. This, sucks. Reminds me of the scrolling beat em up games from the arcades. These people talk about coop gameplay as though its something new and not something practically every arcade game had. Strangely unambitious for Fargo.
  12. Well if we're considering shotguns there's always the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saiga-12 Its essentially and AK converted into a combat shotgun. Cheap and plentiful. And wicked. @Cronicler: thanks for the input. Forgot completely about the Tavor. It looks intimidating but I wonder how it performs. @Walsingham: ok, I was just curious. After all you're the man with the combat experience, the rest of us are armchair generals
  13. I've always been curious why the SA80 has such a poor reputation. Of all the more popular assault rifles coming from major countries it has been the most criticized weapon I know of.
  14. I wasn't specifically comparing them as products, just the problem of exchanging a pile of perfectly well working MP5's that your spec ops are used to using, for a new and yet unproven weapon. It might be actually be a far better weapon - just these habits change slowly, if at all. And well maintained guns last a long time. May I ask why a sawn off shotgun of all things? The recoil could hurt like hell and make the weapon harder to handle. Why not just a fine handgun?
  15. I know its not specifically on topic but if there is one weapon that I'd like to have its the SIG 550 In terms of quality of manufacture and many other characteristics its reputedly the best assault rifle ever made. Its also one of the most expensive ones, if not the most expensive.
  16. I think the design is a bit too recent to put full trust in it no? The Kriss seems to be like the Five-Seven pistol. I love it, its extremely well made - but it costs an arm and a leg (not to mention the FS uses expensive and rare ammo). My grandad's sixty year old trophy VIS 35 does the same job for a fraction of the cost. From my admittedly small knowledge of firearms (my dad wrote a book on the subject, I just picked up a little from him over the years) the Kriss seems like a bodyguards/police weapon that will see limited use. It will also have to compete with the likes of H&K MP5 which more or less do the same thing but are much more popular. And if my knowledge of US laws is correct the Kriss, like all new full auto guns will be available only to military and police. Which will mean that only the police will end up using it and so far as I know police purchases aren't enough to make a new gun really sell well (the Five-Seven had this issue until it was released in a civilian version). In say a real eg: middle east combat area like Iraq or Afghanistan one of the shorter and concealable AK types would make much more sense given the abundance of ammo and the proven durability. However, if you were a nut for personal protection and living in a western country where maintenance and money aren't an issue then I suppose, theoretically, it would be a good purchase.
  17. I have... But its still hard to believe we can't get at least one groundbreaking PC game a year. Either I've been eaten by nostagia or 98/99-02 was the time to be a PC gamer. After that the good stuff 's soooo far and few inbetween. Yeah I guess someone's gotta be the "jaded film critic" of the bunch For the Record its Morte, you bot. Enter that into your NWN tainted programming, Please.
  18. Tiny performance hit when it works in the background, major one when taking videos. Be careful that your video recording key isn't used in the game, I ended up with 25 Gigs of STALKER videos.
  19. Indeed. These uneducated plebs, how dare they! Oh, the nerve! *sniffs tobacco* If I didn't know these nice people so well I'd say so, as it is - I'm just perplexed. *sigh* At 22 I'm definitely getting too old for computer games.
  20. I can't believe people still feel this game is worth discussing. There really must be something in Maria's assessment of the Bio game cycle. Oh well, you learn something new every day.
  21. Its good that they are hiring, these are the areas where their games could use much improvement.
  22. I propose a slime mold for the Nobel peace prize, it being just as deserving as all the other candidates (Arafat, Clinton, Obama, Internet, Marti Ahtisaari etc.).
  23. Yeah It was always the better game IMO.
  24. There are piles upon piles of simple PnP systems. Talislanta is ten times better than DnD and you could learn all the relevant rules in one afternoon. And you only need one book.
  25. If you want to explore such sci-fi trappings there are two good setting's GURPS Transhuman (+ a ton of supplements) and to a lesser extent Eclipse Phase.
