  2. I really don't get this "fight hard, not smart" mindset. From where I stand, sending a squad of Mordenkainen's swords, skellingtons and other creepy crawlies to face tentaclefaces first is the proper way. So is camping at Firkraag's for a week while Jan Jansen lays traps every 8 hours. Also, Bruce, I hear that "Witcher" now has English translation that does not suck, so no excuses.
  3. It's even better when they honor German soldiers as well as German tanks (bonus for upside-down flag):
  4. Only if there is a corpse. No cadaver, no money, comrade. And according to russian war ministry there are only 1351 dead.
  5. I didn't mind the swamp, but that's probably because I was younger and more tolerant to things that waste my time. Now when I'm old and cranky, I can't go past boring stupid forest in Witcher 2, where I have to wait for some schmuck to open his office at 9 am or something. Played VtM visual novels, Coteries and Shadows of New York. Short and meh, but predictably made me want to go play Bloodlines again. Alas, my old saves got corrupted with apartment texture bug, fingers crossed it won't affect my new game. Maybe I'll make a Brujah and will be able to finish that final combat stretch without cheating this time. Looking forward to "Swansong", I loved "The Council".
  6. ...Ahem. To make up for offtopiccy but fun ****posting above, some interesting translated reads from Meduza: https://meduza.io/en/feature/2022/05/05/it-s-a-reference-to-the-ussr-to-its-return - on continuing accelerating soviet renaissance; https://meduza.io/en/feature/2022/05/05/everything-here-smells-like-the-dead-now - pensive slice of life type article "from the other side"; https://meduza.io/feature/2022/05/03/rossiyskaya-vneshnyaya-politika-eto-kupanie-pyanogo-vedeveshnika-v-mirovom-fontane - interview with Dmitry Glukhovsky of Metro 33 fame, no translation, but Google does decent enough job. I really liked reading this one. On the Funny Stuff Cantina front today we have a poster from an oncoming Russian film about wartime cameramen in WW2. Naturally it didn't take long for runet denizens foreign agents to notice it totally looks like "Russian soldier is carrying a miniature washing machine out of warzone" (washing machine recently became a memetic symbol of russian army's indiscriminate looting in Ukraine).
  7. Why do you think I'm seeing enemies, and in internet strangers of a nerdy forum in the first place? I don't even post angry and only drunkposted once or twice. Not that I mind, you building me a persona is oddly flattering. Wouldn't dream of it. I wouldn't say I don't like Russians. One particular pathetic waxy excuse of a russian? Hate him like nobody before. Russian foreign and also domestic policy? Guilty as charged. Orcs responsible for Bucha? Absolutely. Russian officials of any sort? Presume everything they say is a lie and will keep on doing so. Random dudes who might come here to post about videogames? Nah I don't think I do. Feel free to come and school me on how it's totally the same thing, though.
  8. The EU sanctions them and sends war stuff to Ukraine.
  9. Yesterday Zakharova accused Israel sending mercs to fight along Azov (https://www.timesofisrael.com/moscow-israeli-mercenaries-fighting-with-far-right-ukrainian-unit/), some time earlier she said Ukrainians are faux-nation of meanie poopooheads because they're gatekeeping borscht (beetroot soup popular both in Russia and Ukraine), I'm thinking she, along with Medvedev, is the recipient of those diplomatic mail packages of Colombian cocaine. As for black magic, mysticism is a thing in Mordor's top circles, been a while. Not unlike how with that other previous Reich. There is another interesting thing to observe in speeches of russian officials, chief goblin including -- note how they seldom mention EU and its countries when accusing Ukraine's allies of sanctions or "trying to prevent the military operation from ending" (Peskov, today. Like, no ****, Sherlock). It's almost always "NATO this, USA that". I think there was even an offer from Lavrov in the very beginning of war to the US "to solve this matter between ourselves" or something in that line. I'm curious why. Is it because russia thinks ol' Murica is the only one worthy to address as their equal, wishes sempai would notice her or simply inherited enemy list from sovietistan and just went with it unchanged, because updating it would be above KGB agent's initiative and creativity-deprived mind. Would also explain why russia acts like China still is its friend.
  10. That's not irrelevant, just inconvenient for your "Russia is not aggressor here" stance. Also, while you're at Minsk docs, do they include booting out Moscow puppet "governments" along with their little green men out of of "disputed territories"? Maybe it would be good to stop flipping arguments like pancakes so that they always land in a way that supports your opinion? Because I vaguely remember someone regularly whatabouting the US getting involved in affairs that are not exactly geopolitical. Also, EU's territorial integrity is not the same as France and Germany's territorial integrity. Where did I say that you said there is no war? Stop extrapolating. Better yet, stop getting all huffy when I do the same to you. Well then how fortunate it is that internet forums do not make important decisions in foreign politics, don't you think? I'm sure that people who do are pragmatic enough and know better than use suchlike rhetoric in negotiations; meanwhile, on our here niche internet forum I am going to insult the poor man's Hitler and his Darkspawn as much as I please. Also, it's such a convenient thing to fuse two rather different statements, namely "Russia never stopped being the Soviet Union and always aimed to take over" with "the reason for this is that they are stupid and insane", because then whenever someone tries to point out signs of revanchistic Sovietistan nostalgia rising as soon as tiny dictator plopped its scrawny arse on the metaphorical throne, you can smugly dismiss everything by countering that second part about "stupid/insane", which is considerably easier to do, yes I know I am extrapolating. No it isn't, there is this thing called "stalling", also, it's always useful to try and sniff out your enemy's plans, ideas etc. even if you are not planning to seriously negotiate, and I'm not singling out Russia here, both sides are doing that or at least they should. Anyway, scuttlebutt is that Mordor is planning "referendums" in "contested territories" and Kherson in mid-May so lets wait and see how that ends, shall we. No argument here? Flattering as it is for you to say that denizens of assorted internet hangouts such as reddit or this very forum have the power to infect decision-making people with exercises in frivolous name-calling, I'm afraid you are slightly overestimating their influence.
  11. German federal states do not have a belligerent, aggressive, militarily stronger neighbour trying to use them as a foothold to further mess with Germany. And I have a suspicion that special protected status for Basque, I suppose, language comes from either Spain or some sort of agreement between Catalonia and Spain and not from, say, France with an implication of "Or else!" Because there are certain other members of NATO that might sway the alliance towards standing up to the bully? No, it's just me stating that war, in fact, was started. And now I do not understand where were you going with this: Because sense or no sense, war is happening. Tanks are rolling, people are dying. It's there. And again, I do not get your point here. "See, Poutine isn't as comic book villain levels evil as he could be?" ...okay?
  12. Ah yes, now I see - evil meanie Ukraine did not want to hand its territory with totally absolutely honest to god natural insurgencies that were totally absolutely honest to god not orchestrated by Russia up to sending their military officers to stir up **** there (also see: Girkin, Igor) over to Russia after it already occupied Ukrainian Crimea and therefore this war is entirely Ukraine's own fault, because how could the most peaceful and innocent goodest neighbour Russia not to interfere on behalf of those poor annexed oppressed regions, it being the shining beacon of selflessness and noble intentions, truly the caring oldest brother of us ungrateful faux-nations! See, I can do passive-aggressive comical exaggeration too! Lets not, because it'll require Russia attacking an EU member. Yes! It makes no sense, I agree! But he did it! Nice article. Too bad it did not age that well, because since then Bucha has been discovered among other things. Civilian executions, raping and looting doesn't quite fit the "we'll just denazify here a little and be out real quick" plan, don't you think?
  13. Yeah, well I do try to regularly come up with creative names for that puffy decomposing bloatfish, but sometimes I just don't think that short rodent-faced melting waxdoll is worth the effort.
  14. Even if we ignore the fact russia shat on those agreements in the first place when it chose to attack, implementing them in full is giving demented dictator of a fascist country what he wants (and stupidly hoping he'll stop there). Also, Nothing is shifting here, because russian army is militarily semi-joke that not only America can face down, but only America and maybe Brits seem to be willing to face down. There is difference. Also2, Quite likely that it would not. Quite likely that it would be some deep concerns and perhaps even condemnation of actions, but those losers in their insignificant countries east of East Germany (that belong to russia's influence sphere anyway thus should know their place and accept it) cannot really matter more than precious status quo with aside of cheap gas, right? Also3, Just like this war that putler wages against Ukraine!
  15. How do you imagine keeping the status quo with the country like Russia today? Keep giving putler whatever he wants because "Well, he has to stop somewhere, right? Right?"
  16. Well there is Litvinenko's tea, this one dude in their parody of parliament getting indignant about bombings in town that would only bombed some days in the future, add Russia's respect for human lifeaaaaaahahaha, cannot even type ridiculous **** like this , I mean, KGB totally bombed those apartments.
  17. Mwahahaha, got to posting new Rammstein video before Gorth did
  18. Youtube keeps offering me nice things outside of my usual listening range. Here's the case of cover being better than original.
  19. Also, if unnamed American official tells me that orc horde is murdering soldiers who try to surrender, you bet I'm gonna fully ****ing believe it, and it has nothing to do with anonymity of American or whatever other country's official, but because of previous behaviour of the horde.
  20. So putler yakked the other day that there was a conspiracy to snuff Solovjov, Kremlin's propaganda tool numero uno. Neo-nazi, Ukrainian passports, yadda yadda, you know the drill. (Source: https://meduza.io/feature/2022/04/25/fsb-ob-yavila-o-zaderzhanii-neonatsistov-kotorye-yakoby-planirovali-po-zakazu-sbu-ubit-vladimira-solovieva-i-drugih-propagandistov) Aaaaand here be the picture of "evidence". While it looks too silly to be anything but a fake, it matches shots from the video of arrest up there. Mean people are already making jokes about how the assassination plan was to lure Solovjov into the pool and take out the ladder and it seems like a sort of postmodern self-mockery until you remember that russian state TV also presented a tome of Shakespeare as an evidence or "Anglo-Saxon mercenaries in Ukraine"... (There is also a photo of some sort of incriminating postcard that is signed with, I kid you not, "Undecipherable signature").
  21. My completely not spied in a caricature opinion - there's a button under that corner that extends the table to more comfortable to putler proportions (he sent his old longtable to the Black Sea to replace the late Moskva) and it's stuck, that's why he looks so constipated.
  22. ...so I hear Gorth liked slav popmuzik
  23. If I'm mistaken, Xzar can correct me, but I think that with "1) The ship Moskva sunk because there was a fire on board. 2) Retaliatory attacks on Ukraine are needed because the ship Moskva sunk." he wasn't referring to (possibly) retaliatory attacks, but Russia's news channels in unison stating how Moskva sunk because of fire on board (as if ship sinking out of incompetence is somehow a better spin than it being sank by the enemy...), and at the same time, on the same TV channels their propaganda dogs howling for Ukrainian blood because "revenge for Moskva!" Oh, and those of you who read about that guy from Novatek who "killed his wife and daughter before killing himself" in Moscow, may experience deja vu today as you read about the guy from Novatek who "killed his wife and daughter before killing himself", but those are different guys from Novatek. https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-novatek-manager-protosenya-dead/31814581.html
