  1. I just went to panel, hacked it shut RAM down. No fight. That was a final boss?? LOL! Can't be.
  2. Got to the end of the game, though it came sooner than I thought. I think you always say that though when you enjoyed something a lot, you never want it to end. Loved that they copied Band of Brothers finale' style to close the game and all story/character loops in that fashion. From what I can tell I chose the best path, or at least what I hoping for as I made choices throughout the play-through. Still really enjoyed the whole experience, though very dissapointed in how poorly the developers treated the Ultra-Wide community. It's nice to see some devs, who probably play on Ultra-Wides themselves, ensure their game is fully ultra-wide supported throughout. I think those of us who game UW, take notice of those who do. I usually don't care, as dialog scenes are normally a small percentage of games so it's not a big deal, but a developer who knows dialog is a major percentage of the experience they are creating should have ensured that was set properly for all aspect ratios, as it does take you out of the game/experience a bit suddenly having large parts of just black on your screen. As I move on to other games though, it's something I regret wasn't properly implemented during the time I played the game. Still walk away happy though, great experience.
  3. We ever gunna find who is bringing these on board and why?
  4. Check Greenman gaming. Good chance you’ll get the best price there. You get a key you claim within the Epic Launcher.
  5. One thing I've been thinking of, even in seeing previews is what that this games wants to be. I'm having a blast in this game so there is no issue with fun factor or quality of work than has gone into game, dialog etc. But when I play I see a sky that's beautiful like in mass effect or some something, I look straight ahead and I see a world that sometimes borders on the cartoony-ism of Bordlerands, then all the architecture seems a mash up of Fallout and Bioshock. Even the characters seem to have bit of different games in them, but I DO really love facially quality...really top notch. Then some of the tiny spaceships you see on planets look straight out No Mans Sky in the design. Though mainly I see a lot of Fallout. And I get the whole story and connection to Fallout, but at times I feel it leans to heavily on that connection to the point of just about replication in some way. Maybe the plan was always to make a better Fallout and it was purposely meant to look like Fallout, but I don't think it needs to do that. Just my 2 cents, but I'd love to see developers stretch their legs for a possible OW2 and build something of their own. I'll still buy it if it's still mainly a Fallout-ish game, but I think if the really let themselves go they could make not just a better Fallout, a better Mass Effect, etc. Taking from the best of these games without being obvious about it . Probably thinking too deeply tonight...but with a bigger budget that hopefully OW's success may allow, I think we could only marvel at something unique they could come up with. This is of course hoping that even though there is success here, that a corporate bottom line doesn't get involved making the devs dilute quality to add transactions, loot boxes and all the manner of evil the current gaming corporate entities like to foister (inserted Dumb Donald word) on unsuspecting gaming enthusiast.
  6. I agree those that done feel it's too short. I'm also one that does all side quests, explores everything in maps to find hidden lot etc, so that adds to my time. I'm only about halfway through already and feels I've just about got my monies worth(except in terms of proper ultra-wide support). I guess it can be relative. Sure it's not as big as say Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc, but those are games with unusual breadth with a major budget behind them, so that's not a fair comparison. Then you get these games as service cr@p games like Assassins Creed Odyssey. Great game(though sitting on top of a money generating scheme) but it was just WAY too large(for me). I've still never finished it. There were other factors that made the large world not work for, but just all goes the everything being relative.
  7. I would like more variety as well. It seems there a lot of the same armor, but with different paint on based on factions. I could see it maybe on the same planet, but would expect some differences going to other planets. What I thought about today while playing as a lot of the gear is same, just painted the same, I would be nice if they added some tools do create our own color scheme so that you could make them Unreliable brand armor. I'm only halfway through the game though, I think I saw a YouTube video where the title said something about unique armor you come across, maybe there will be something kick-butt later on in the game.
  8. You should just come across it naturally .What I mean is think the game has a good pacing in that you will run into ever better weapons as your progress as you need them. You probably just need to get farther in the game. Best yet, you will probably get it off someone you killed, so it will be free.
  9. GaleWeaver: I got the notification as soon as I was done talking to Ellie. I didn't try and leave the ship to see if she still showed up, though that is great idea I should have tried. I think I was most worried about not being able to finish her quest line, then figured something must be really wrong that I can't even see her on the ship now anywhere. Had never had a crew member go missing before. algoroth: Ah...that is interesting. I did continue playing with both access byzantium missions going now and was able to finish Parvati's questline. But I think I have that save where I can go try it again just to see if the issues replicates. Ok...just loaded that past save, went talked to Ellie about Bynantium, Phineas, Meeting her Parents and when the conversation ended held my breath. No failure notice. When looking for Parvati and she's in the engine room as normal. So maybe she wasn't on a ladder lol. Hope that's fixed in the upcoming patch they are talking about. Will mean replaying about an hour of the game, but think I'll continue from here as this is how I would have played before the bug. Thanks for the replies!
  10. So this is spoiler forum, but I'll still warn that if you are only beginning the game this post may not ruin things for you(though I just understand what happened). I'm at the point where I've exhausted ever quest except going to Phineas for the main quest and to get a dress for Parvati, which you can't do till find a way onto Byzantium. I ruined the game a bit form myself in googling to find out where it is so I could complete Parvati's questline and found there are two paths. The one path where you gotta pretend to want to turn in Phineas didn't appeal to me at all as I don't know enough of the story to screw around with subject, so I decided I would just let the game flow as it would have if I hadn't googled. Fair enough...all good. So I see Phineas, get access to Byzantium...good to go! As mentioned in another forum post about releationships, I could take or leave any other in game, but the one Parvati is good and really want to do right by her. I go into into kitchen on the ship and end up talking to Elli which sets up Byzantium and some discussion about whether to trust Phineas. End the convesration and just about to set off to get Parvati her dress. Then I get dialog that her quest line has FAILED. What the!!! So I go looking for Parvati on the ship and she nowhere to be found. She gone..who knows where. Then I remember this other way to get on Byzantium. Load a previous save(just after talking to Phineas) and decide to whip through that, and when landing on Byzantium(and having to go through the whole Elli Schpiel again) I ensure Parvati is there and ad her to my team so she doesn't 'disappear'. Go and talk to the person who wants me kill someone to get their trust(oh hell no), end it with basically I'll think about it(oh hell no do your own killin). Parvati there and can see the marker to her quest. Back on track but by following a very dirty story path to get there, which is not how usually play. At least on a first play through. If a game is good I may play through again being 'bad' for a new experience. But usually don't as games just grip me enough 99% of the time for a second play through. So my questions is...why does she disappear and the quest fail. Why does it matter which path I follow to get on Byzantium. Will going down slimy quest line cause issues down the road(don't need details). My intent was get the Phineas and still dig around to decide who to trust and really resent the game forcing me down path I hate just to keep a good character in the game. Sure...this post is part vent...but the what the heck! I've got these two diametrically opposed quest now. Can ignore the whole 'I want to turn in Phineas and sure I'll earn your trust by killing people' and follow my original path without issue? Don't want to google it an ruin things more, but if those that have played through could give me advice or assurances that I haven't screwed things by trying to keep Parvati from dying or whatever happened.
  11. The whole romance in games seems a bit off for me. I guess if want a sex scene in a game, the only way to it is on a Unicorn like the the Witcher 3 lol. Really though what does it for me in games in the continually growing of relationships with good characters, being a friends or potential romance. I think that's where a game can shine, and most don't really do it well. To have you almost feel good or bad to what happens to game character.....which is just 1 and 0's. I think Outer Worlds is only 'ok' with this, with one exception. Parvoti. I think it's her innocent view of the world and gee shucks attitude. It's not romantic at all, like a bigger brother or father daughter attitude. As for there being a romance with ADA, she's too hot for SAM. Not gunna happen.
  12. I love the atmospheric moments that are enhanced by music. It’s not something I’d ever play outside game, but I love the elevator jingle and hate when elevator ride is too slow. Think I’ve heard It before so may not be original, but it’s fun.
  13. Works for me. Just press CTRL and you go into crouch and stay that way till you press it again. Though you didn't mention the platform you're playing so can't say for controllers.
  14. They game keeps you so busy learning stuff, so when I go there and have no idea what was added I have found myself not going in there either and just googling things when I need it. It seems kinda basic anyway. I could remember what a particular big ass bug looked like so when in there, no section on and no pictures anyway...so like most things I'm curious aobut...Google to the rescue lol. Though need to be careful accidentally tripping over a spoiler.
  15. I'm on two fences with them. They look neat BUT you get them with crazy low stats usually most of the time(I've only got 4 so far). I've kinda got them stashed trying to decide if I want pay a ton to upgrade them(and how if you can't the traditional way)...plus there is the Wild Science perk that increases damage by 50%. I've got one more perk I want to get first then grab that perk to see if these science weapons are worth all hooplaa. The first one I got was the shrink ray and I found it VERY underwhelming. And I've wanted a shrink ray since I was kid watching science fiction and my mouth hung open when I saw in a preview. But then I got it and tried it. It shrinks them down for 1/2 to 1 second. Not really quick enough for you switch a weapon do anything so tried shrinking bigger enemies down for my companions, but really, just going after them hard with great weapons, starting with good sniper round to do some damage and blind them hitting them with companions abilities just feel great. Probably a way to increase that(hopefully), but I'm still coming to terms with a lot of the other aspects of the game that I just 'back-burnered' them when I saw they at a crummy low level. I'm just starting to feel I've got myself and companions sorted and kicking butt, so as I say I'll probably get hat perk and I've already been putting points in science. I just think, for me, there could me more done when you get these to make you excited about getting them right off the bat. I dunno, have them adjust to your level or just below when your find them. It a feel like they dropped the ball somehow with these. I'm sure they will rebalance etc etc. But I'll be on to other games by then. Could game back if there's a lull. I like a game with a lot going on, but what comes to mind for me in trying to compare what I'm talking about is Red Dead Redemption 2 I got a year ago on the PS4. When you got a special weapon, it looked great and kicked butt damage-wise right out of gate. It was exciting to find/get them! I just don't know why I'm so....MEH....about the special weapons in this game.
  16. I occasionally see I have a new codex item, so I open it up and there is no indicator showing what the new item is. I open each category, nothing. Any chance an indicator could go beside the new codex item?
  17. OMG! That's hilarious...only cuz it's not happening to me...in which case I'd be furious. Got my fingers crossed it doesn't happen! You didn't say what platform you are using. I'm using PC and hoping this may only be console issue.
  18. You can go into options and select view the helmet or not. It won't remove the helmet, but will show your companions faces even though the helmet is on. I did that as you spend to much time talking to them and would rather see their faces too
  19. Like others I tend the game is a bit blurry, and I usually fix this in games by adjusting depth of field or anti aliasing settings, but these aren't in the game menus to adjust. I've found a few sources that apparently can allow you do to this finding and adjusting the games engine.ini file. I've suggestions on what to edit in there, from a large amount of lines to a simple two or three lines. I don't want to mess up the game as even just finding this ini file was chore, I think thanks to the dang epic store, but want to adjust these setting for a clearer game. What have those that have been successfully editing the file(better yet a recommendation from the devs) been adding in. I normally turn off DOF completely but not anti-aliasing and I do want some jaggedness to go away but will turn this off completely as well if to get a clearer picture. To the devs....what are these settings not in the game and buried in an ini file?!?
  20. I would rant on this too, but honestly, I'm just glad to see a game content to stand on it own and not use tactics to keep trying to get back into my wallet. It's so refreshing that I don't mind coming to the epic store to get/play it. I'm happy to just play a game that does this than spend my energy delving into the deep dank darkness that is gaming today.
  21. You don't mention what platform you are using. On PC, I hold R to holder my pistol and it never comes up during dialogs. If you are on PC your could try that. Not sure how it works on consoles though.
  22. First...I have to say I'm loving this game! So much to learn and take into account. Such an enjoyable experience...except for one thing. The support for ultra-wide support seems lacking. I can't pick my resolution 3440x1440 for full screen for some reason. I can in window mode which I guess is OK and luckily I found there is an option for Gsync to also be applied to windowed sessions. So, not great but passable and off I go. The problem though is with dialog. When you go to talk to someone it goes into 16:9 mode I believe and I get two big black areas on the left and right of the screen. On other games that don't bother to support ultra-wide on dialog, it frustrating but you don't usually spend a lot of time there. With Outer Worlds though..you spend a preponderance amount of your time in dialog. So for most the game you get pulled out a bit out of the experience with game only using marginal part of the screen. In the early days of Ultra-Wide this was understandable as developers slowly got on board with utra-wide. But it's not new tech anymore. So I'm hoping...that soon....Outer Worlds will fully support ultra-wide in all aspects of the game? Can a developer comment if a fix is in the works for this??
