  1. They game keeps you so busy learning stuff, so when I go there and have no idea what was added I have found myself not going in there either and just googling things when I need it. It seems kinda basic anyway. I could remember what a particular big ass bug looked like so when in there, no section on and no pictures anyway...so like most things I'm curious aobut...Google to the rescue lol. Though need to be careful accidentally tripping over a spoiler.
  2. I'm on two fences with them. They look neat BUT you get them with crazy low stats usually most of the time(I've only got 4 so far). I've kinda got them stashed trying to decide if I want pay a ton to upgrade them(and how if you can't the traditional way)...plus there is the Wild Science perk that increases damage by 50%. I've got one more perk I want to get first then grab that perk to see if these science weapons are worth all hooplaa. The first one I got was the shrink ray and I found it VERY underwhelming. And I've wanted a shrink ray since I was kid watching science fiction and my mouth hung open when I saw in a preview. But then I got it and tried it. It shrinks them down for 1/2 to 1 second. Not really quick enough for you switch a weapon do anything so tried shrinking bigger enemies down for my companions, but really, just going after them hard with great weapons, starting with good sniper round to do some damage and blind them hitting them with companions abilities just feel great. Probably a way to increase that(hopefully), but I'm still coming to terms with a lot of the other aspects of the game that I just 'back-burnered' them when I saw they at a crummy low level. I'm just starting to feel I've got myself and companions sorted and kicking butt, so as I say I'll probably get hat perk and I've already been putting points in science. I just think, for me, there could me more done when you get these to make you excited about getting them right off the bat. I dunno, have them adjust to your level or just below when your find them. It a feel like they dropped the ball somehow with these. I'm sure they will rebalance etc etc. But I'll be on to other games by then. Could game back if there's a lull. I like a game with a lot going on, but what comes to mind for me in trying to compare what I'm talking about is Red Dead Redemption 2 I got a year ago on the PS4. When you got a special weapon, it looked great and kicked butt damage-wise right out of gate. It was exciting to find/get them! I just don't know why I'm so....MEH....about the special weapons in this game.
  3. I occasionally see I have a new codex item, so I open it up and there is no indicator showing what the new item is. I open each category, nothing. Any chance an indicator could go beside the new codex item?
  4. I 110% agree! I constantly back out, double check then go back into tinker.
  5. OMG! That's hilarious...only cuz it's not happening to me...in which case I'd be furious. Got my fingers crossed it doesn't happen! You didn't say what platform you are using. I'm using PC and hoping this may only be console issue.
  6. You can go into options and select view the helmet or not. It won't remove the helmet, but will show your companions faces even though the helmet is on. I did that as you spend to much time talking to them and would rather see their faces too
  7. Like others I tend the game is a bit blurry, and I usually fix this in games by adjusting depth of field or anti aliasing settings, but these aren't in the game menus to adjust. I've found a few sources that apparently can allow you do to this finding and adjusting the games engine.ini file. I've suggestions on what to edit in there, from a large amount of lines to a simple two or three lines. I don't want to mess up the game as even just finding this ini file was chore, I think thanks to the dang epic store, but want to adjust these setting for a clearer game. What have those that have been successfully editing the file(better yet a recommendation from the devs) been adding in. I normally turn off DOF completely but not anti-aliasing and I do want some jaggedness to go away but will turn this off completely as well if to get a clearer picture. To the devs....what are these settings not in the game and buried in an ini file?!?
  8. I would rant on this too, but honestly, I'm just glad to see a game content to stand on it own and not use tactics to keep trying to get back into my wallet. It's so refreshing that I don't mind coming to the epic store to get/play it. I'm happy to just play a game that does this than spend my energy delving into the deep dank darkness that is gaming today.
  9. You don't mention what platform you are using. On PC, I hold R to holder my pistol and it never comes up during dialogs. If you are on PC your could try that. Not sure how it works on consoles though.
  10. First...I have to say I'm loving this game! So much to learn and take into account. Such an enjoyable experience...except for one thing. The support for ultra-wide support seems lacking. I can't pick my resolution 3440x1440 for full screen for some reason. I can in window mode which I guess is OK and luckily I found there is an option for Gsync to also be applied to windowed sessions. So, not great but passable and off I go. The problem though is with dialog. When you go to talk to someone it goes into 16:9 mode I believe and I get two big black areas on the left and right of the screen. On other games that don't bother to support ultra-wide on dialog, it frustrating but you don't usually spend a lot of time there. With Outer Worlds though..you spend a preponderance amount of your time in dialog. So for most the game you get pulled out a bit out of the experience with game only using marginal part of the screen. In the early days of Ultra-Wide this was understandable as developers slowly got on board with utra-wide. But it's not new tech anymore. So I'm hoping...that soon....Outer Worlds will fully support ultra-wide in all aspects of the game? Can a developer comment if a fix is in the works for this??
