You have an answer in Jedi Academy: Exar's spirit kicked Luke's ass in matter of seconds. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Luke then was no where near the power Jedi Master Luke is now though, both of them fighting in there prime would not be such an easy battle for either. Sith Magics aside, I'd give Luke odd's on against Exar. Though by no means is either going to have a walk in the park. It is hard to pick a power balance in EU some author's right some very flashy powers and make characters look beyond amazing whereas others keep them closer to the movies.

Mandalorian's: Something the Chronicles leave out
Azazel005 replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have said it a couple of times now, if Candy is mandalore - purley on the basis that it's lame as hell, he will be spend an awful lot of time on the hawk in my games. -
If you mean Grand Admiral Thrawn, yeah pretty much. Though it makes a point in those books of how unusual it is for such a high ranking alien to exist in the empire, and what a massive exception he is.

The relevance of the Chronicles
Azazel005 replied to Azazel005's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I just don't have enough knowledge of the time frame, is it possible that we would be old enough to have known any of these icons, or apprentice beneath them? And we have this ominous masked villian, surely that means his identity must mean something, (though more than likely to in game chracters rather than the player with heaps of EU knowledge but still...) I believe from what I read Ulic could not have sent his spirit into the force, or any other location as other past characters have given his connection with the force being cut. But what about some of these other characters? (we don't seem to go to Yavin, so I realise Exar is out) Just flying around crazy ideas anyway....there has to be a more direct reason for all this back story. -
Mandalorian's: Something the Chronicles leave out
Azazel005 replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have only read the chronicles and his EU Star Wars database entry, and I think he sounds like a deadly hard ****. So if he is tougher than he reads from that, I am guessing he was a deadly mofo. Thanks by the way Nuke great to have stuff like this posted for us to read and give us all some reference. (Plus yours was better written the the LA stuff) -
Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Azazel005 replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I like it. I always thought Trask must have known, he sacrificed himself for you, surely he was in on it to some degree. Plus he seemed to be the strongest soldier on the ship the way those other guys we're getting wiped out... For some reason I was under the impression that they had been running from a previous battle but I can't find anything to back that up, probably my imagination. -
So we have been some brief history fleshed out for us over at Lucas Arts, for those of us that aren't privvy to all that history already. This has lead me to wonder how much of this history is going to come into play in the new games plot. We are been giving a good deal of history and being introduced to some of the greatest sith lords and fallen jedi in ancient star wars history can we expect them to make appearances in some form? or that some of the mysterious players in this game our somehow connected to them? Many of the locations are are also having there history exposed to us. This gets me a thinking....which I generally try to avoid. So I thought I would post this and see what everyone else thought, so I could just read about it... "

There was talk of lightsaber crystals that are bonded with characters and grow in power with them.

I love this debate, it's such a riot. I hold KOTOR in a very high regard, despite its ease being a little disappointing. I am too old to be as hardcore as I once was but I still like a challenge. I still wouldn't classify myself as a casual gamre though and I enjoy the work done with the original KOTOR, I don't want to be a non-Jedi class and I damn sure dont want to see a spanning hurling techy take out a light saber wielding sith, I dont care how cleverly and deeply he is role played, flexibility and open endeness is one thing, but thats fairly dull comic storytelling. I like seeing awareness being more useful, I often took is as a skill becuase of Role Playing choices, I liked my Jedi to be aware, nice to see that it will maybe be a bit more useful.

Most popular PC face from the Original
Azazel005 replied to Azazel005's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
, glad someone noticed. There is a lot of respect going down for the Mullet here, would any of you people actually wear a Mullet in real life? -
Im pretty sure Nuke said the tubes were to do with those armours being used to pilot Basilisks in open space.

Most popular PC face from the Original
Azazel005 replied to Azazel005's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Never make fun of the mullet! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Seriously dude, there is nothing else you can do but make fun of the mullet. -
Well mate, the Jedi code isn't perfect or easy. And while that loss may well lead to the darkside through grief and anger, but all those emotions must be removed. One of the biggest critiscms across the council is always it's inaction, the Jedi's are often passive to the detriment of the galaxy. That is their code though.

After firing up the old KOTOR for a quick spin last night, I realised how many of me and the other people that have played this game on my X-Box, used the same or the same few faces (especially after playing once and learning of the Revelation). The face with the scar under the eye, probably being the most popular DS face and the long brown hair face most popular LS face (well there were lots of DS versions there of that one too ). The Female face that got the most use was the very asian looking one with short hair covering one eye. Did you guys tend to find the same? What was the most common face in your quests for the PC?

Still though we arguing the use of the force on a moral compass, I never said that a Jedi might not have the most noble intentions of protections and would be doing the right thing by iur definitions of good and evil, but to wield the force in that way is still dark in it's roots. It's too easy, you have called on your power solved the problem with a simplistic violent solution. Jedi's respect all life, good or evil. And of emotions there is always fear, fear is one of the biggest failures of young Jedi that fall, a Jedi will fear being unable to protect those around them, fear failure, and then call on the force to help them quickly - fear leads to the dark side. If they were not afraid they have turned to such a quick violent solution.
-
Hurting people with the force is still dark side as a general rule :P:P I am not sure if anything else can be said I believe we have reached a point where both sides are clear to one and other but we simply don't agree. An offensive action using the force is wrong for a Jedi, there are all manners of extremes, but all Jedi should see it as a very distant answer to there problems, if it can be justified at all.
-
Akari's response was a good sign, perhaps it will be just for some PC as part of their Dark side descent physical changes. I'd love Sith Tattoo's would make my day.
-
I've done this too, it works bloody wonders, not too mention you end up with a pretty nice Defence rating.
-
From a moral Compass POV, but the force is not all just about moral values and justice. If you used the force to save your loved by pushing someone of the cliff, was that the only resolution available to you? or did you react out of fear for that person's safety and simply call on the force to solve your problems? It's not a question of doing a noble thing, Jedi's don't command the force to do there bidding, for any reason. I know how semantic a line it seems (believe it or not I have had this very geeky discussion before ). It's not entirely dissimilar to using force to say float your drink accross the table, you could pick it up just as easy it's wrong to call on the force for such things. Even when people are at risk a Jedi can't call on the force to directly solve there problems. Sometimes drastic situations call for the force to be wielded in such a way that it could harm, but never or nigh ever to directly strike your enemies.

Prestige Classes
Azazel005 replied to Who are these people?'s topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Does anyone have the Pnp descriptions and stats for these Prestige Classes? -
There are all sorts of ways his connection could be severed, happened a few times in the SW universe as I believe. I hope that whatever cause his absence has it's well explained, including what the devil happened to the Forge and Bastilla the pig tail wearing skank.

I love unarmed combat, I like the idea that my Jedi could bust some heads if he was taken captive or was somehow stripped of his lightsaber.
-
Either way damn hot pic, does Natalie have that Tat on her arm?
-
It certainly rings true enough Murda, some good old school apparation guidance from past masters would go down nicely. The council never did see like the type to throw all there eggs in one basket, I'd like to see it play out. *gets excited about all the possibilities*
