  1. Yes, he waited until she was 9 or 10. Also this is still common in some Muslim countries.
  2. We'd be the only conservative country in the world, and therefore the most economically successful and freest country in the world. And really, don't Conservatives deserve their own homeland? Btw, efforts to secede haven't led to war anywhere in the Western world, and one might remember that the feds backed off when confronted with an armed population in that dispute with the Nevada rancher.
  3. Yes, one always loves moderation in an enemy.
  4. I haven't actually accepted Bruce's joke premise that Obola would declare Sharia in Texas. But you should read up on the new British Labor leader Hurlshot.
  5. Here you go, cultural differences : http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/21/world/asia/us-soldiers-told-to-ignore-afghan-allies-abuse-of-boys.html?_r=0
  6. I'd love that, we'd finally stop being a flock of sheep and secede. Edit: Btw, style point, "Sharia law" is redundant. You do realize that seceding would mean facing the full power of the US military which in the case of preserving the Union would not hesitate to resort to total war if it needed to. The Texans would be forced to stay, or if that became impossible they'd all be killed, by nuclear strikes if needed. No state leaves the union; much less with it's people alive. I don't think the military would fight against Texas for a commie government. Most of people in the military are either Texans or Southerners. Scotland was allowed to leave, how's that different from Texas? Even the republics of the Soviet Union were allowed to leave, are you saying our government is worst than the communists? Edit: In reality, there'd be a civil war in Texas between those wanting to leave and those who don't, that's the real obstacle.

  8. May have something to do with his viewing the job of the President as being "Defender of the Prophet", while never having a good thing to say about Christianity, you clingers to God and guns. Also Trump is right, he has no obligation to defend Obola, whether it's one of his supporters or not. Edit: And btw, after watching the video the question wasn't even about Obola, it was about terrorist training camps which we do have in the country, so Trump would have to parse and respond to every word, which isn't reasonable to expect regardless.

  11. "Parties working together" generally means Democrats getting everything they want. Thus not that popular with the Republican base just now. More popular with the Republican establishment, but their only job is to be corporate whores.
  12. I already explained the judge has no authority to do any of that. It would take the Kentucky legislature or a local prosecutor, all of whom are themselves elected and thus are likely to be sympathetic to the clerk. What the judge did it simply the same thing he would've done with anyone disobeying a court order.
  13. First of, how do you know I disagree with her? Second, why are you inventing stuff that didn't happen? Third, she's not going to be in jail for life. Even Susan McDougal was released after a couple of years although she refused to testify in the Whitewater case.
  14. Probably not too many people here play Combat Mission, but if you do you might know it badly needs an operational layer in addition to the tactical layer which it already has (which is excellent btw). Well, here's a small Kickstarter for an operational level game which might link to Combat Mission in the future if all goes well : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/490387448/combat-operations
  15. The Civil Rights Act is a completely phony example here because the 14th Amendment was specifically passed to protect the rights of blacks and gave Congress the right to implement whatever laws were necessary to that end. Sodomy on the other hand was illegal in every state at that time.
  16. Yes, I am much more comfortable with the Supreme Court interpreting laws than a country clerk from Kentucky. Yet it is the Supreme Court whose foremost responsibility is maintaining the rule of law, and nothing undermines that like making decisions based on their "feels". He already demonstrated in another thread that he either doesn't know or doesn't care about any of those things, so long as he gets his way, so much for him not being a liberal. A system of laws can be so morally unconscionable that it has to be overthrown through extra-judicial means, which is what happened in the Civil War.
  17. Yet you were fine with the Supreme Court doing exactly that. You didn't seem to object to Obola's illegal amnesty either. I guess it's a case of "Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi", the height of hypocrisy. The clerk can be impeached, probably by Kentucky legislature, but they agree with her, so why would they do that? A judge can not remove a public official, all he can do is enforce his ruling by sending her to jail or assessing a fine for every day she's not in compliance, which is arguably worse. He really can't just let her get away with disobeying the court.

  19. I just saw there's a big sale on Focus Home Interactive games on Steam right now, in case anyone wants to try a Cyanide or Spiders game.
  20. The story is stronger than the gameplay, so the story is told through cutscenes to a large extent. And the cutscenes at the beginning is what's supposed to get you engaged in the story. Worked for me, even though I've neither read the books nor saw the show. Also I thought cutscenes were broken up by game play pretty well, although I prefer a slower pace anyway.
  21. I did that too. Westeros - the North Korea of fantasy land. I was a big fan. I heard nothing but bad about it, but I really enjoyed it. Looking up the endings, there really isn't any "happy" endings either. I really liked Alester until his revelation. Yeah, I don't understand why reviewers never like Cyanide and Spiders games. Must be some kind of mind control Bioware is doing on them. Or may be it's the blow and hookers.
  22. Finished Game of Thrones. Might be the best story I've seen in an RPG, but what a downer! Mors is a very cool character, kind of like Carth and Canderous rolled into one, except 10 times tougher than either!
  23. I was doing good at first, but finally missed 3.
