  1. Here's an example of the effect your choices will have (hint: not much) http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3174566 Also sounds like combat will be a click fest, which sucks.
  2. Didn't you see the bounty hunter class? And uh, they have lightsabers. And it's DAAAARK!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Heh, heh, ADHD. Used to be known as just plain laziness. But yes, starting with the easy parts sometimes helps.
  4. I saw Matthew's demo on G4 earlier today. We should really have a first person option, so I don't have to look at Thorton running around like a dork all the time. Plus it would avoid unfavorable comparisons to SC: Conviction.
  5. It has some pretty fun quests, if you just keep randomly exploring dungeons it does get pretty repetitive and tiresome. Especially Knights of the Nine I thought had a good focus and a good variety of locations.
  6. Diplomacy worked great with North Korea, keep it up guys.
  7. Why would Leviticus be discussing Christians, as it was written approx 1500 years before Christianity? Also I'm not aware of stoning people of other religions to death, in fact the Bible often repeats the injunction of treating the "stranger among you" well. Also I'm not aware of killing people for eating shellfish. Lev 18:22 "Do not lie with a male as one lies with a woman; it is an abhorrence." Lev 20:13 "If a man lies with a male as one lies with a woman, the two of them have done an abhorrent thing; they shall be put to death - their bloodguilt is upon them." Edit: Never mind, Maria was talking about Acts of the New Testament, not Liviticus.
  8. The writing in MoW is one of the best things about it.
  9. Bush's big problems were that he was too idealistic abroad and didn't understand economics well enough at home. Of course that's a general problem with our government, and besides there's a tendency to let sleeping dogs lie until there's a crisis, at which point we take half measures. At least Bush tried to do what he thought was the right thing, regardless of his popularity, but he would've been better off if he addressed a few immediate problems, like energy independence, instead of trying to make over the world.
  10. Just watch out for spoilers, I'm not going to read it until I finish the game.
  11. No, you were right, except it's not only combat that's cheesepuff.
  12. I hope Obsidian has some interesting ideas they want to implement, not just throw in a bunch of filler quests and call it a day.
  13. At least they could talk about the setting a bit, this is not a good way to introduce a much awaited game.
  14. I'm playing in character mode, and the camera works fine. You can swivel it around and zoom all the way out if you need to see a lot. The only problem as always is when you go through a door you're too close to the wall. I believe any rubber banding can be turned off, but it's not an issue the way I play. Anyone who's refusing to play because of the engine is really missing out, the game has the best content I've seen in a long time.
  15. What's wrong with the camera, it's pretty much the standard PC camera now. I know everybody complained about the OC, but I run it fine on an old PC, MotB was quite a bit more demanding. On my new computer I would be able to run MOW on the highest settings just fine, but I had to set it on the lowest because MoW constantly crashes otherwise.
  16. I'm really tired of seeing UE3, so I'll be glad if DX/Thief use something else. I think the plasticky look is prevalent in most modern games, and has to do with not supporting skin translucense.
  17. Marketing campaign has been horrible, "we've got blood and sex, and it's really dark, I mean super duper dark, and did I mention we have blood?", but that doesn't mean the game will be bad, they're just marketing to the LCD trying to improve their sales.
  18. I think the biggest problem with the sales of the first one was that the concept when summed up briefly doesn't really appeal to most people. I didn't have much interest in it at first, but after hearing repeatedly how great it was, and not having anything to play at the time, tried it and it won me over. People who don't follow games as closely would likely never bother with it.
  19. The real issue I see is this. If the government provides food, shelter, and healthcare, what's the point of someone working? What effect does dependency have on society? Also I have a very hard time believing that goverment run healthcare provides the same quality at lower cost as private healthcare. Aren't all the countries with public healthcare constantly struggling with cost, and some are now encouraging people to get private one? We have public healthcare in my county btw, but no one who has a decent income would be caught dead in it.
  20. Console is almost always the lead platform, deal with it. The IW and DS engine was also used for Project Snowblind, and not only looked terrific, but also allowed a bunch of AI allies before that became all the rage.
  21. Don't see anything wrong with the engine, seems like a very fun game so far.
  22. Thanks, the Kotaku video didn't work for me for some reason. That video does look too realistic and complex, part of the appeal of the first game was its simplicity, hopefully they won't mess it up. There was a similar escape sequence in the original btw, it wasn't all stealth.
