  1. Number of countries China has military presence: 1, Djibouti.
  2. Would be consistent, I'm sure they've already built a MerkelBunker.
  3. https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2020-doom-eternal-tech-review Hmmm, I like the tech aspect, too bad I couldn't be bothered to play Doom Eternal. Competitors take note! EDIT: Doom Eternal is one of the few triple-A PC titles to deliver consistent enough performance to full exploit ultra high refresh rate monitors.
  4. The U.S. is basically Big Israel at this point, and I'm sure such cases are already in motion but could be harder to pinpoint here due to sheer size.
  5. I really suck at viruses so am a horrible source of information regarding their science and ramifications but I do recall this winter me waking up twice in the middle of the night gasping for air and unable to breathe, thinking I was going to die only to recover in 30 seconds or so. I thought it was just a random case of asthma (even though I have absolutely no history of asthma) but if I did contract the "virus" and survived through it w/o me even knowing it, that would be something, as I had no idea COVID-19 even existed back them.
  6. I hate to derail this thread but Volourn here is quite the charmer. Buddy, if both Marxist governments and "religious nutballs" are bad, what would you consider "good"? China's economy is unshaken during this crisis and has offered Italy plenty of supplies and aid to combat their epidemic, whilst the U.S. government seems to be firing from the hip.
  7. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/03/quantifying-coming-recession/608443/ Hmmm Yes, he's now in quarantine. Out of all the people in D.C....
  8. You may not like them because -reasons- but it's imperative we all get along and respect our differences. Yes, western countries don't like authoritarian governments, but our differences can compliment each other rather antagonize each other. Besides, last I checked, it's not China with 200+ military bases across the globe trying to conquer and bomb everything, that's the U.S.. Look at it this way: China built a wall thousands of years ago. Not to invade, but to prevent being invaded. That's the Chinese psyche in a nutshell.
  9. As of right now, the only thing stopping Trump from re-election is total economic meltdown, which is possible, but I wouldn't bet on it. I will give him credit for having the political instincts and flexibility to institute programs that help the little guy to save his ass in this case, as his approval rating seems to be climbing now. This hawkish attiutde towards China among Republicans is very alarming though. It's just as bad as Russiagate Liberals. Which is our 2 party corporate driven imperialist state in a nutshell.
  10. See? Steamers bitch about EGS but Steam is now offering freebees in response.
  11. I'm having a hard time differentiating between RPG elitists and "Gamers" these days so forgive me if I disrupted a broad stroke I was unintentionally aware of.
  12. Let's play New Vegas where the intro pictures shown and the dialogue answers to choose from are grossly different: I see the head of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
  13. So if someone attacks "SJW's" or declares themselves "Alt right/Nazi" should I just shoot first and ask questions later, w/o trying to get an explanation or testimony?
  14. I'm actually inclined to agree with the Criticism section of that page The horseshoe theory has been criticized by those from both ends of the political spectrum who oppose being grouped with those they consider to be their polar opposites, while also being criticized as an oversimplification of political ideologies and ignorant of fundamental differences between them. Simon Choat, a senior lecturer in political theory at Kingston University, criticizes horseshoe theory from a leftist perspective. He argues that far-left and far-right ideologies only share similarities in the vaguest sense in that they both oppose the liberal democratic status quo, but the two sides both have very different reasons and very different aims for doing so. Choat uses the issue of globalization as an example. Both the far-left and the far-right attack neoliberal globalization and its elites, but have conflicting views on who those elites are and conflicting reasons for attacking them. Choat also argues that although proponents of the horseshoe theory may cite examples of alleged history of collusion between fascists and communists, those on the far-left usually oppose the rise of far-right or fascist regimes in their countries. Instead, he argues that it has been centrists who have supported far-right and fascist regimes that they prefer in power over socialist ones.[16]
  15. Playing 'Control', it's just...wow. Gameplay is great and there is some weapon/character customization and upgrading, but it's fairly shallow. If you're looking for a complex RPG you won't like it but it's greatest flaw doesn't outweigh it's greatest virtues. My biggest gripe is actually the fact that it's a massive system hog. I have to turn Ray Tracing off and set it to low settings to hit my 165 fps sweet spot. Should be able to bump it up to "Medium" with the next Gen hardware though, whenever that comes out (probably next year thanks to COVID).
  16. I'll stay away from them I guess, sounds like a cognitive death trap waiting to happen. Prolonged exposure to "You're either with us, or you're an advocate for white male genocide" will drive you to either join them or actually advocate that. Idiocy.
  17. Turbo Capitalist First World corruption. This country was built on the backs of slaves and wage slave immigrants and the Big Club reaps all the benefits.
  18. Downloading 'Control'. Let's see how it turns out. I hope it's not too simplistic, some character customization is needed or else I will....get bored!
  19. "SJW"...What the Hell does that even mean? The only thing I can formulate from that is "someone who isn't a white supremacist/nationalist". I can understand being annoyed with raging xenophilia, but the other end of the spectrum on that issue is equally annoying.
  20. Tulsi endorses Biden, Not surprising, really, Tulsi is a centrist at heart. A real centrist, not an alt-centrist like those pesky MSM "Resistance" types. Ah well.
  21. Such short development time sets off a yellow flag, but the demo was decent enough, more RE porn.
  22. I sort of feel like it's the calm before storm, like a strange serenity before something really crazy happens. Crazier than the virus, that is.
  23. We are now discovering the internal contradictions of party based isometric games. They sound good on paper but are a chore to play. Either streamline party AI significantly or stick with online co-op shooters/etc.
  24. https://medium.com/@caityjohnstone/liberal-npcs-hate-russia-conservative-npcs-hate-china-9b4ac2f853 America has two war parties. The Overton window of acceptable mainstream debate has been ripped away from those who simply want peace and a healthy planet altogether, and now the only permitted arguments are about which wars should occur first. This is gravely disordered, and it cannot continue.
  25. The Palestinians agree whole heartedly.
