  1. Blood Omen.
  2. Or doesn't own a console.
  3. Games I liked, in no particular order: Devil May Cry 4 - Not as good as 3, but what is? World of Goo - Although I think it's a little overrated. A spectacular achievement for a 2 men dev team, no doubt, but Lemmings are just better. Prince of Persia - While the game is too easy and shallow, the world is genuinely fun to explore. Morrowind of platformers. Storm of Zehir - Storm of Win. King's Bounty: The Legend - Made me proud to have a Russian passport. Rise of the Argonauts - Yeah, not a lot of people liked it, but that's because they totally ignored the undocumented mini-game. 'What mini-game?', you may ask. Put a couple of bottles of wine somewhere within your hands' reach before launching RotA. Take a gulp each time you notice writers taking liberties with Greek mythology. Take five gulps whenever Achilles opens his goddamn mouth. Drink an entire bottle on your first encounter with Medusa. There you have it, 15 to 20 hours of pure bliss. Bully - Miles ahead of Grand Theft Boredom IV. Achievement Unlocked - Game of the year.
  4. If mages and changelings are not in the game it officially sucks.
  5. This thread is now about determining the coolest eye-patched action hero.
  6. ...with a full-time professional development team who didn't actually finish the game. I recall reading an interview with MCA which said that the HK factory would have been finished if Obsidian had had two more days.
  7. Huh? Wasn't FT in glorious 640x480?
  8. I think we will, after the MMO. OK, maybe not KotOR 3, but an SP Star Wars RPG will definitely happen at one point.
  9. Dragon Disciple?
  10. Point made. At first I was going to argue that Greek mythology wasn't over-the-top, but then I remembered this: Catching a spear on the fly? Hell yeah!
  11. No, they are not. The reason it works in RotA is because the game has little to do with the myths it's supposedly based on. Sure, the names of deities and heroes are the same, but their personalities and motivations couldn't be farther away. And I'm cool with that, a direct adaptation of Jason's journey wouldn't make a good Action/RPG.
  12. Not according to BioWare's Georg Zoeller, who said on 7/16/08: "I'm not saying one or the other in regards to DX API Versions, but developers usually use Windows XP because it is a stable and well tested environment at this point. That doesn't mean nobody in the building runs Vista - after all you need to support it when you ship the game. In general terms: At this point it would be limiting your potential audience way too much to create a DX10 only game. Look at the numbers (e.g. Valve Hardware Survey). So if you are afraid we might release a game that only runs on DX10 hardware or operating systems, you can relax now. Whether or not the game might support DirectX 10 if present, different story, not answered today. " And reiterated on 8/8/08: "Releasing a DirectX 10 only game (of the scope of DA is at this point not commercially viable. DirectX 10 does not have enough market penetration yet." Ah, but that's what they want you to believe.
  13. So can we expect some hot overland map action in TBH then? Oh, and could you update the site with another paragraph of text?
  14. She still shows up. You get the cut scene with her and Nihilus on your next alignment shift after leaving Telos. At least that's how it was in my game on a neutal playthrough.
  15. So they simply disguised death with some bells and whistles? Fine by me then. Thanks for clearing this out.
  16. Doesn't sound too bad, in this case. EDIT: Wait, it still does. What about longer obstacle courses? Are they gone?
  17. The same as between your party members coming back to life by themselves and a proper death system that requires using scrolls/spells to res them.
  18. Wait, what? That's the most retarded "feature" one can possibly introduce in a platformer. I mean, what's the point of playing if IDDQD is always on? Where's the challenge?
  19. Someone had to post this one.
  20. That's the thing, they sell well on the PC, because there are a lot of PC gamers in Eastern-Europe and PC gamers will usually do a little more market research. Your average console user will just grab the shiniest box off the shelf and play that. I'm not saying that the game will be bad, I just doubt that they can put enough marketing behind it to make it an AAA title. It also doesn't help that it was released on the PC one year ago. What, Atari doesn't have enough money to spend on marketing a console game?
  21. Somebody forgot to put Obsidian's logo on the box.
  22. Best idea ever. Fixed. I'm tired of FR. An Eberron, Planescape, Ravenloft or Dark Sun game would shake things up a bit.
