  1. Schweinehund, not "schweinhund". Scheissenbedauern isn't a word. "Bedauern", yes, but both attached do not make any sense. Just taking "Sh!t regret" and then transfer that 1:1 to German doesn't work (always).
  2. Schaden = damage Freude = joy, pleasure Schadenfreude = pleasure derived from seeing others in suffering or trouble Pretty inventively, huh?
  3. Good to know that the majority consists of Ex-Origin/LGS/ISA employees. Can't wait for more infos!
  4. No wonder... I once read years ago that Bethesda hired a Programmer to take care of the mess (source code), and when he took a look at the code, he hopped into the next airplane and was gone, forever. Other hired programmers were literally imprisoned in a cellar until the job was done... but I'm not sure whether that story is really true. Anyway, bugs make people mad, that's for sure. As for F3: I'll give it a chance. It can't never ever be worse than TF.
  5. Wouldn't call it a Sci Fi CRPG. More like a wannabe-cowboy CRPG, but whatever.... oh and there are no futuristic weapons at all!
  6. Currently nothing, because I'm super busy learning for some exams right now, but I just got The Longest Journey, which I'll try out later this month.
  7. Here's a picture of me with my Gozilla Killa MK 3000! You better stay cool with me, or I'll blow your N00b arses to the moon! WUAHHHHAHAHAHA!!! (w00t)
  8. Not absolutely the most interesting interview, but I share his perception that the game industry needs to re-identify itself. Other than that, I'm still waiting for more infos and f00tage... But I fear NWN2, DA, Star Citadel, JE2, BG3 and Kotor 3 will unexpectedly be officially announced at the same day, so that my brain is gonna dripping out of my nose due to information overloading.
  9. After watching some movies, I've to say I'm stunned. Since I lately became more interested about the art of Anime (and still trying to find every film Studio Ghibli has done), this one furthermore strengthens my perception that Japanese devs are more courageous when it comes to try out the more "different" things, or at least I'm happy that there exists a huge market that accepts such innovations. One common question: Is the PS3 gonna be backwards compatible with PS2 games? "
  10. Kewl... writing an essay about UT2004 is surely a very instructive lesson to become a full-fleshed, official Game Designer. I'm impressed!
  11. Never had any doubt that this game is gonna be a simple action shooter. Though, it's good fodder for the trash can.
  12. Mark Morgan did a marvelous job both on Torment and F1/F2. I also love Michael H
  13. Just what the hell are you talking about? Please read my posts thoroughly before rushing to post incongruent replies. Alright... Bingo! And it was never meant otherwise, neither via Steam, nor Retail. Sorry, but it sounded like you're somehow dissapointed because you have to pay for Aftermath. But again, why would Valve work a year on an expansion and then release it for free? Just because some people feel HL2's story isn't finished?
  14. Thanks for correcting a statement I hadn't made to begin with. Let's slow down a bit. If Aftermath is going to have a standard retail release, then by definition it is not going to be free. Therefore, I would have to pay an extra to get the rest of the story, a story that should have been complete in the original, which I have already paid for. So... yeah. For free? Nothing in this world is for free. It's still hard work and a very ambitious project for Valve, they can't live from air and love alone, after all. Besides, as long as they deliver quality I'm always willing to pay... Not to mention that Aftermath will probably blow away any other full version FPS out there anyway (with the exception of FEAR maybe). So yeah. @Kaftan I assume you aren't an id fanboy because of the "great" stories they have in their games, right?
  15. I stand partially corrected, then. Partially because it's next to impossible for people who don't have broadband to get those expansions. And, at any rate, it doesn't change the fact that the original lacked a backbone. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not true. In fact, it has already been confirmed that HL2: Aftermath will also get a retail release.
  16. No surprise. Everytime I read one of the renowned "Greg & Ray" interviews, I just can't help but deduce that Bio just got a little fatter, a little more ambitious, and just a little more hungry for the "more, bigger, better" philosophy....again. But that's okay. As long as they maintain their high quality and integrity, I'll continue buying Bio [PC] games... as for the kid stuff a'la Xbox 360, handheld etc. -> No thanks.
  17. For those of you who remember the terrific Shalebridge Cradle from (the now defunct) Ion Storm's Thief: Deadly Shadows, you might be interested in this excellent article [6 MB] "Journey into the Cradle", written by Kieron Gillen, which covers creation, thoughts, and most importantly, an interview with Lead Designer Jordan Thomas. Just amazing I tell ya! However, if you haven't played the game yet but plan to do it, don't read it... it's spoilerish. Enjoy. And discuss.
  18. I think the trailer wasn't that impressive. The graphics looks a bit too clean, too artificial and and as always, devs seem to exaggerate the usage of that bloom effect. Overall, I'm not impressed. I think the best from what I've seen at this years E3 so far, both graphically and artistically, is FEAR, and now I'm downloading the Gothic 3 Shaky-Cam Video, let's see how that looks like.
  19. @Baley: The Witcher does not have a publisher yet. If we get lucky, Bio will show another tech demo of DA, but surely not a playable version of the game. Otherwise, I expect that Bio will just continue boosting it's new marketing campaign "Come here and buy some Bio Gear!", where you meet the docs selling kewl Bio T-Shirts with Nude pics of Jade Star Henpecked Hou while Monsieur French is giving his best to present the new BWB (Bioware Beer) to the thirstily passing visitors. Cheers!
  20. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what does this "360" stand for? 360 hours lifetime?
  21. Just watched the gameplay trailer, and I don't see any reason to get excited about it. Shooting stuff, driving a buggy and flying around with a space ship isn't something that I haven't seen in any other action adventure before. I'm more excited about Fahrenheit, actually.
  22. Bloodlines is Activision's baby, therefor the support will still continue...or not. Heck, even the official 1.2 Patch was done by Activision.
  23. A game's actually never done. It just gets shipped.
  24. Of course it isn't, that was just a test. And you won a cookie! *throws cookie*
