  1. Unless it's a Hack n Slash, the amount of dialogue is important. But it's just not dialogue: But it IS a Hack n Slash if you didn't get the memo. The focus is on co-op and combat. Sorry, it's not a Hack n Slash, it fits the ARPG fold. Titan Quest, Torchlight and Diablo 2 are Hack n Slash, try again.
  2. Whereabouts are you from? I hear Queensland got a lot of new waterfront properties recently (not mention that Cairns is getting cleared of it's current inhabitants)
  3. You'll be glad to know that DA2 DRM also comes with limited activations, free of charge. Damn it, now I can't install it on all my computers at all my holiday homes.... Wait I only have two machines.... And no holiday homes....
  4. Unless it's a Hack n Slash, the amount of dialogue is important. But it's just not dialogue: If you think only dialogue is effected, you mad. NPC dialogue, is just one thing it affects, let's look at another aspect, length. Compare ME to DA, compare AP to F:NV, notice something else.. Nope never heard of silent films. But do you really think that when developers(Bio/Obs) talk about 'cineamtic design' they are envisioning that? Not having a 'voiced PC' means devs aren't going to go down the 'cinematic' path. Depends on the dev, with Obs, yes they will be. Not for me, unlike others though it doesn't cause me to disassociate with the character, it just bothers me since I feel that the money could be better spent in other areas. But what if you hate the VA?(ME: MShep hate AP:Mike hate) Then all you'll be thinking about is how much this character you are playing annoys you. To me the possible negatives outweigh the positives(which for me are none) http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?stor...mp;id=620172119 Edit: http://www.facebook.com/UbisoftAustralia/p...182944245079924 So I'm not that blind it's a recent event. Anyway congrats Alvin and cheers funcroc for that.
  5. he's from the internet-land. the average connection speed in Japan is 80 MB/s and it's almost free there, too, according to some reports. Meh I'm from Aus and it doesn't bother me. Constantly requiring an internet connection and limited activations are the no-no's of DRM.
  6. A game with voiced PC will always have less dialogue then one that doesn't. IMO it's unnecessary, and diverts development budget from more important aspects of RPGs. Also 'voiced pc' and 'cinematic' are very much tied together, you can't have 'cinematic' without 'voiced pc' and 'voiced pc' leads to 'cinematic' design. When did Alvin become Associate Producer of Obsidian Entertainment?
  7. That can't be real. If it is, Jon Stewart will CERTAINLY catch it. It's to stupid NOT to catch. And/or Stephen Colbert. Now I really hope it's real.
  8. When logged onto Steam, top left tab named Steam>Go Offline.
  9. If you are an MMO or Blizzard yes. For Mulit, not as much as they were. I would say piracy is 1:1 at kindest estimates. For example ME2 was pirated 2 million times, I doubt ME2 reached anywhere near those sales on PC.
  10. Maybe Square and Obs are ignoring IGN? Am I the only one that hopes that the 'cinematic' and 'voiced pc' fads die very very soon.
  11. Former Midway Devs Seek Publisher for Awakened(Superhero game)
  12. 1. Mass Effect 2 2. Stalker COP 3. FO:NV 4. DOW II : Chaos Rising 5. Mount & Blade Warband 6. Divinity 2:DKS 7. Starpoint Gemini 8. F1 2010 9. Dead Rising 2 10. Metro 2033
  13. Very interesting read and if true, very unfortunate and aggravating.
  14. Looks like they've improved the character models by a factor of 10.
  15. I just hope Bethesda doesn't see the need to have a voiced PC. I don't think I can think of anything worse in a Bethesda game....... Well maybe romances.
  16. It's 40% currently, #1,#3,#4 and #5. Although they could be accused of #9 & #10 after DA2 and ME3.
  17. Top ten recent annoying trends in the games industry Personally I agree with all of them. Especially #3
  18. New previews: PC gamer CVG Rogue armor: (thank bio forums)
  19. I would say the Dragon Knight Saga was the best, with Risen coming second. However I have not tried Drakensang: River of Time or TW2.
  20. I enjoyed it, good for mindless slaughter of zombies.
  21. I belive it finished January 11, so yeah it's over. However you can still pick it up for $7 when DA2 is released.
  22. Great news, I just hope it doesn't lose what made it great during the move towards RPG.
  23. What? Was that because Mike's approval was low with Scarlet or because Heck didn't like Mike?
