i do like both, and usually drink single malt, but i want to experiment a bit but none the less, if you have a suggestion for a good single malt then i'm all ears People often think of blended whisky as inferior to single malt whisky. I found it surprising that you did not share the same prejudice, especially since you're looking for something "special"... Anyway, if you're looking for something that's perhaps new to you, I'd recommend anything, but especially the more aged whiskies, from the Talisker distillery. Their whiskies tend to be a little bit stronger (in alcohol) than others, and they swap the often so distinguishable smoky "first impression" or smell (although they are of course still very smoky compared to most whiskies) for a short but distinct peaty, very rich flavour with hints of pepper. But that's all single malt. I don't know a lot about blended malt whisky, since I'm only really used to all the big brands - and if you're looking for something new you must have already tried those.

Why blended malt and not single malt?
-
bias is bias - you'd rather believe the US leadership would lie because you are ideologically opposed to them. I must confess in all honesty that I can not see your line of thought here. Why would I believe that a person would be inclined to lie if that was not specifically a part of their ideology? Do you believe that people whose political views does not agree with your own are lying all the time? Duh! Then show these "other choices" for me so that I may compare them to those I have already proposed myself.

Currently playing Lords of Magic, which I downloaded through gog.com. Also, WTF!?

HOLY FRAK! Haiti got hit with a 7.0 Quake!
Rostere replied to Killian Kalthorne's topic in Way Off-Topic
Why is that funny? Iceland lies in a highly volcanic area, they'll probably always have own rescue teams ready for occasions like this. -
that statement says it all... you'd rather believe, wouldn't you? hmmm, d'ya think maybe that sort of sets a pre-conceived notion in your head that such a thing was true? i'll give you a hint at what that means... no, wait, the direct approach: bias. Like my post stated, my bias is of the nature that if I have to choose between "the US leadership would lie to their people" and "the CIA has no clue about Iraq's weaponry" I'd rather choose the former. Do you feel I'm biased in such a way that I'm wrongly inclined to believe the CIA knows what they're doing?

I might never understand why some people choose to live next to volcanoes or in earthquake-ridden areas. It's really kind of sad -
Regarding the WMDs, I'd say the most important factor was that the weapons inspection authorities did not believe there were any, and what makes the war even more stupid is that they were currently investigating the matter before the war. If the US does indeed have some kind of intelligence agency they have proven their gross incompetence to the world so many times it's really laughable. I'd honestly really rather believe that the American leadership knew for sure there were no WMDs in Iraq. Oh, I definitely thought Saddam should have been overthrown, but the right way to do it for the US is hardly to storm in and shoot everyone. Especially considering the cultural differences. In this day and age, violence is a blunt, primitive and inefficient tool for the weak of mind. Look at the astronomical amount of money the war has cost the US. Just imagine how you could have used that money to create a more stable Middle East and improve mutual relations instead of making war. I dare not even think of the cost the Iraqis have to pay now for rebuilding their country.

bugs? Most probably. Personally, I associate "40K" with WH40K though. -
Okay, I have to confess I didn't like Star Wars very much either. What's so special about it? It's doesn't really give anything intellectually or emotionally, it's just a bunch of guys in wierd plastic armor fighting in space. I like some Star Wars games for the computer though, for example Tie Fighter and Dark Forces 2.

Throne of Darkness? Only Samurai RPG I can remember atm.

The Great Alpha Protocol release month pool!

April. -
Michael Thorton twitters: "Tracking communiques in the command center. Something about Vegas, then it went black - the analysts are on the scent."

The best is Torment for me, the rest of the list is not as clear for me though... Perhaps I would place NWN2: MotB and BG2 just above the rest and directly under Torment, but that's it.

So who's making the soundtrack?
Rostere replied to WILL THE ALMIGHTY's topic in Alpha Protocol: General Discussion
This track being the most memorable IMO: Not only super-cool but that part felt like a completely different game (pacing wise) from what came before. Too bad that song gets insanely annoying when looping. Really? I used to just stand around in the game just to listen to the music :S -

LOL. This twitter feed is so classy, I love it! -
This. However, if the SU had not recieved any monetary or material aid from the allies and Hitler had prepared for winter warfare, things might have looked different.

Two days ago, me and a few friends bought 24 litres of beer and I've got several litres of bag-in-box vodka. We thought we'd use four large camping backpacks and raid a party at a friend's house.

This. This.

It's a part of the game. Eventually the trees wither away and die, and then they can be planted anew.

Top 3: 1. The Void 2. Demigod 3. Zeno Clash I also bought Hearts of Iron 3 which I was a little disappointed by. I hope I will like it when it's patched though. I've not bought Dragon Age yet but I might do that in the coming month.

I've bought this game and almost played it through. It is just as unique as it looks and it definitely has my seal of approval. Just remember to draw the Donor glyph with long "tails"

No, the Tesla rifle consumes battery as ammunition :S
-
There is no "elephant pistol" in the game. Are you perhaps referring to the elephant rifle? Anyway, with high- end guns I meant weapons such as Droch's warbringer and the Tesla rifle. You should try these out the next time you replay Arcanum Of course the AI was crap but how could you call a six-follower party with Sogg, Chukka and healers anything else than a "competent fighting force"? At high levels you could be both an archmage, master of Melee and Dodge and have high charisma. My personal opinion is that it's pretty useless do discuss which build is the better at these levels since virtually no feasible build will have any problems at all with any encounter.
-
Tech was underpowered compared to magick? Maybe seen as a whole, but the Explosives skill tree and automatons still made a feasible basis for a character build. You are absolutely wrong that Melee/dodge was the most powerful build by far though. There are both more powerful early-game builds and more powerful late-game builds... For example, take the charismatic leader/healer as an example of the latter. Six companions (not counting Dog) is a lot compared to one or two companions. Also, any purely melee-oriented build is also dangerously reliant on healing from potions or spells. Basically, there are a lot of different very powerful builds in the game, and although many of the Tech and Magick disciplines are worthless (you might count firearms in as well... although the best firearms are definitely worth it) no single one is, on normal character levels, "by far" more powerful than any other.
