  1. Do you know that something similar to this was already present in "Clash of the Titans" (1981) movie and many people say it's an example of classic?... so no, you have to give better example of how GoW fails with not going with the myths... If you read at least few ancinet greek myths, you find how many of them have similar stories to tell... Especialy about era of Greek Primordial Gods... I am not saying that GoW story is "OMG teh bestest", but at least, it tells story similar to many of the original ancient myths...
  2. I realy hope this is not the deal, else we get some retarded gangrape of the original IP with overhilarious marketing, ridiculous antisecondhand sales features and NPCs asking for your creditcard numbers selling the newest DLC with special nut armor for your hero... Not to mention huge sales! Not sure about that, the marketing did helped DA for sure, but ME2 in it's 1st week is far behind the sales numbers of ME1 afaik... We'll see how good/bad Dante's Inferno will fare and how many DA owners actualy buy the expansion...
  3. Calax, can you please elaborate more on White Knight Chronicles without spoilers? I've seen very mixed reviews, i think i am more favoured to the positive reviews i read, than the negatives, but i could use some sort of "stimulation" to finaly decide if i shall buy it or not... I presume you like JRPGs, when you purchased it, and many reviews in magazines feels like they are just written by people who think Halo and CoD:MW2 are the greatest games ever created. So i would like to hear how does feel the overal gameplay, depth of the story and all the japanese bells and whistles, from JRPG fan...

  6. Gee, I wonder why people would feel inclined to resell a game. I mean, it couldn't possibly be because it's an overpriced piece of ****, right? I'm not saying that the producers of crap games should go under, but... wait, scratch that. That's exactly what I'm saying. Want to reduce second hand sales? Increase the game's replayability value so people will not want to resell it. Well, sometimes they resell so that they could buy the next one coming up. You know that in this case, people who can't resell just buy less games, right? Killing second hand sales means less new game sales, because people with lower budget will just not conjure more cash out of the air to buy same amount of games without possibility to resell...
  7. Um... I'm sure you will have an "Away" or "Appear Offline" function? I realy hope so, anything different is BAD!!!
  8. And according to law of most of the countries EULA has the law value about the same like toilet paper if you cannot read it before you unpack the good... so if you are buying boxed Steam Only games, you are safe to sell your account with them, if they ban you, just file class action lawsuit against them, you gonna win it If you are buying digitaly, it is another case, because most of the time before you purchase any digital download you have to read EULA before you pay for the game... That still does not mean that in some countries are basicaly EULAs, which are not in match with local country customer protection laws, not illegal...
  9. Main point is that there is a reason for Blizzard / battlenet to do this - Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft are all about multiplayer. If you read the kotaku article there's going to be a lot of ways in which that persistent connectivity is used to improve gameplay. I also don't see anything that says you HAVE to be online all the time while you play? I do not mind at all the all-time online system for multiplayer match-making, but last thing i want when playing singleplayer games, is someone from my WoW friends trying to persuade me to resubscribe... When i do Single Player Gaming, i do always disconnect from net to be sure no one disturbs me with Skype ICQ or any other similar ****... sometimes I even turn off my cell phone to not get disturbed... Offline mode for SC2 Single Player is a must for me... so i most likely wait until someone release some workaround, or even wait for BattleChest to be sure to not pay more money that this system deserves... i waited for SC2 10 years, i can wait 2 more...
  10. And how common is it really to crack a Steam game? Certainly not as high as retail games. And you still combat second hand sales with it. That is even easier to counter than you think... all you need is to make a new owner profile for each game you buy... You sell then whole profile with one game only... Voila the biggest anti second hand sale counter-measure cracked...
  11. hahaha you realy think that Steam is an effective DRM? You would be surprised how easy is to bypass it... I was, when few people, i know told me about LAN party, they've attended just 2 days after Left 4 Dead was released on Steam...
  12. One of the most interesting reads about piracy, made by the person who is in gaming business and is a gamer aswell... I recommend it to read to all of you, because he is one of the few people in the industry who still did not loose touch with his customers... http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/AlanYoungbl...ging_piracy.php
  13. According to Blizzard Starcraft 2 will have always connected feature for singleplayer... wheter it will be mandatory (same **** like ubisoft's ****) or voluntarily, is yet to be seen... http://www.starcraft2.com/features/misc/battlenet.xml
  14. Is this just you insinuating your opinions as fact again? *yawn*
  15. did not play Dante, nor i am planing to play it, but watching the videos with similar gameplay, does not automaticaly garant that the gameplay is similar for real... I've seen lot of awesome trailers to games, where gameplay looked godly, but when i touched the gamepad/mouse/keyboard i started to cry...
  16. Sorry to burst your bubble, but books from Divine Comedy are mandatory reading in our Secondary Grammar Schools... At least they were when I was 14... So go insult someone else about their classic illiteracy.
  17. i missed this one, because it was never sold in Slovakia
  18. why not? I have 215 hours played on my current FFXII playtrough, 250 hours on Dissidia and about 40 on Final Fantasy VIII, and i have job, girlfriend, i attend part time university, i go often out to drink some beer, and i post on these forums, if someone wants to have go deep into long game, he can find the time... everything else are excuses
  19. Same with me
  20. That depends, if it will be Steam dependant
  21. Is that positive or negative?
  22. So i read about the game today for the first time O.o, and from what i read i got very excited, finaly a game where your actions have real consequences in-game and should have different gameplay than anything else what is released today... Will it be the new wind in the gaming industry, or will it fail like the previewer predicts... http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2010/02...ned-to-fail.ars I am willing to risk it and give the game a chance, just to show that some gamers want different stuff to play... what about you? PS: it's PS3 exclusive...
  23. Abuse - Freeware Edition
  24. the sad thing is, that something similar happened in real life... http://www.dailytech.com/British+Copyright...rticle16592.htm
  25. God forbid, we would want to play our games in other time, than that was decided by the INDUSTRY!!!
