  1. You know, that kind of thinking is the reason we have 2 billion FPSs each year and almost no Space Sim in 10 years produced...
  2. developing the game should be priority number one SUCH BLASPHEMY!!!
  3. here you go http://arstechnica.c...malicious-code/
  4. I am missing third option in the poll, I would like an expansion where you continue after you finish the main game, and you get new stuff for another playthrough as well. Like new Class, new Race, new Companion etc... The best example of this is the Mask of the Betrayer expansion...
  5. I agree on 100%. My english is not good so I quite need localization too. Or you could learn english better from playing the game, like I did from Planescape:Torment and Baldurs Gate 2 These two games accomplished thing, which no teacher was able to do before
  6. Actually Steam is steaming pile of ****
  7. Sounds like PR stunt to me... to get more people to use Origin...
  8. Heh, my game of Star Ocean froze 2 fights after I got the Battle Trophy, I almost raged O.o Had to spent 2 more tries to get the trophy again. 1 try = 2.5 - 4 hours of playing without saving the progress O.o In the last attempt I got extremely unlucky and got my party almost completely wiped out, was very happy that I had more than enough Ressurection Units, which saved my ass few times. Lymles final blow landed like 5 seconds before the end of the 10 minute limit O.o Aaaand today first part of Pathfinder Adventure Path - Council of Thieves (Bastards of Erebus) arrived, gonna have some fun with my friends over the next few weeks
  9. Waiting until they release it on a DRM free service, not gonna rent the game which I already own
  10. Star Ocean Last Hope International again... Finally was able to kill superboss Ethereal Queen under 10 minutes with Lymle on third try for hardest in-game Battle trophy
  11. Sometimes, I am wondering what kind of crops are you inhaling...
  12. CD-keys can get lost and it's tedious to enter them. Being connected to the internet at installation involves doing absolutely nothing in particular for the vast majority of users, given that it's a digital download to begin with. It hardly gets less intrusive than this. I suppose your fear is that the activation servers might one day go down, in this case Overhaul will of course patch the game to remove the activation, if that hasn't already been done before. Anyone who loses CD key for his most loved games is as stupid as Bioware for loosing their original art... I have all infinity engine games DRM-free, no need to pay for DRM infested stuff, when they patch the DRM out, I will be buying it though. If it will be in 5 years, so be it. Patience is a virtue which I have more than enough...
  13. Yeah I bet Obsidian would be able to fit even Ninja Zombie Cheerleader Pandas into the lore, without raising any questions
  14. Friendly fire in a RPG for me is a must, and I am for possible Critical Fumble or possibility of backfiring spells and weapons as well. If it is not planned to be in the game from the beginning, please consider about providing a checkbox for us for turning it on and off. Thanks
  15. BTW to whoever cares about it Obsidian has already signed for Polish and Russian localizations!!! Hopefully this will draw enough interest from Euro market So spread the word and contribute
  16. Sorry, but you are posting lot of your opinions as a facts here and without any backing to it, I am merely stating my opinions, why I think you might be little bit away from the reality: You have challenged real life Umberlin's experience from Japan, without providing any evidence which supporting your claims as well. My opinions are just my opinions, but I prefer to believe a person from real Japan experience, than a person who thinks is right and is yelling U R WRONG, at every possible opportunity... SSL was invented in 1993 and SSL 2.0 was rolled out publicly in 1995 which is 1 year after the date you have mentioned for the first top 100 in Japan. First online shop appeared in 1994 in Germany. In 1995 was launched Amazon and in 1996 eBay. I would be very very surprised if there was no online shop available in Japan during this time... unfortunately most of the technologically savvy magazines always reported and are still reporting what happens in NA and EU first and lot of time forgets about Japan, China, S.Korea and Taiwan completely... Mostly because they could not be arsed to hire guys who can comprehend their language...
  17. Started last save from Star Ocean 4 after 4 months break from the game, spent few hours in Colosseum and 7 Stars dungeon, had more fun than I thought again, and completed some more Battle Trophies Still not good enough gear for Eternal Queen :/
  18. I wholeheartedly agree. Singapore would be a good place to get a good foothold into the "Asian" market. I currently live in India and having traveled around the globe extensively, Singapore just might be my favorite city/nation on the planet. The gaming scene is very vibrant there. India sadly, would be a poor place to sell anything that isn't a shooter or Dota clone. Singapore was one of my favourite places to visit as well. The best connection of nature and city I have ever seen!
  19. Anecdotes aside, good question. The reason Steam sales aren't listed is because Valve won't release them. The top 100 chart in Japan goes back to 1994. Unless people in Japan were buying their games online for the whole of that time then they can't not be listed for the same reason. If you're suggesting Japanese game stores disclose their console sales but not their PC sales, unlike the rest of the world, I think you're going to have to provide a reason or evidence for this. That is FACT for most of the European Markets, they do not state ANY boxed sales, nor online sales! We do not have in Europe nothing like NPD in the US. As far as I know, the only real numbers from EU you get from UK, and (i do not know that for sure, but I would guess, you are getting numbers from Germany and France)... But I can yell around GIMME SUM EVDNCE KKTXBAI for your statement, that in Japan they are not selling PC games Online more than 20 years... You know, most of the world is technologicaly 10+ years behind... So where is your evidence for that?
  20. Finally got the Air of Experience (500 B-Spec races) trophy in GT5. It's almost two years after I played the game for the first time O.o Now 75 more cars to buy, to get the Car Collector Trophy (1000 cars) I think that will be another 3 months with my current free time spent playing this game and hopefully I will get the Excellent Driver Trophy (A-Spec lvl 40) while racing for the cars as well...
  21. Have you ever thought, that maybe PC games in Japan are not listed in charts for the same reason, why there are not listed the number of sales on Steam on Western charts? What a blasphemous thought, that someone would not disclose the actual sale numbers for one reason or another... I do not know like others do, but I do actually consider more trustworthy the words of a guy who lives/lived in Japan... And I have played few online PC games with ****loads of Japanese gamers as well... One example for all is Darkfall, I would not hesitate to tell, there were more Japanese playing this game than Europeans... The only reason, why EUs and NAs never meet Japanese PC gamers, is the reason, that like 99 percent of their PC multiplayer games have their own servers, because they do not like the attitude of typycal western gamer yelling gay insults and teabagging everyone, so they do hell of a good job, to keep that kind of idiots away from their servers and with them all other westerners...
  22. Oh man oh man, how I could forget to add Anachronox and Septerra Core to my long list :/
  23. You should spent rest of your life in eternal agony. And I think that would be far far from the proper punishment for the mention of The-One-Which-Should-Not-Be-Named's true name on this boards
  24. I'd say that's because most of the people from central Europe that would be interested in this project don't need a translation either. That is unfortunately not true. Lot of people over 30 who love RPGs games, unfortunately do not speak english good enough to enjoy text heavy games, but I know that translation to my language would be absolute waste of money, the spike of sales would not justify the effort. Sooner or later some fans make translations of the game to local language. That's what happened with BG1,2 and PS:T. Most of the fans purchased these games after fanmade translations few years later. EDIT: And as a fact, every single translation to my language absolutely ruined the immersion for the people who played the game before in English language... Even if they marketed it as a "professional" translation... One of the worst experience in gaming I have ever had, was to hear Grunt in Warcraft III speaking my local language... That does not much my experience at all - most of the "hard core" (god, that's a stupid term) gamers I know played the games in English and learn the language along the way. Of course personal anecdotes mean nothing. And yes, at least for me, terms and sentences that in English sound merely cliché sound horribly cheesy and unbearable in my language. In fact one of the worst experiences I had was playing IWD2 in Czech - being used to 3E English terms for spells and feats, the Czech translation confused me and the dialogues were even worse (no to mention that they could not keep one translation for the name "Neverwinter" in two different sentences). It's the opposite in Poland. Many people still don't want to play untranslated games and Polish translations of IE games were top notch and according to many players had better voice acting than originals. I am so jealous. I had the same sad experience like evdk with IWD2. W3 and IWD2 was the reasons, why I have swore to me, that I never ever purchase game in Czech or Slovak language. TBH If I would be little bit better in Polish, I would definately prefer to play Witcher in Polish than in English. Best language for a game, is the native language of its creator. Big big shame, I have no time to learn proper Japanese, because many English translations of japanese games suck donkey balls, or are extremely censored due to sexual or religious prejudice of the western publishers.....
  25. Out of curiosity, where exactly are you getting this information? Please don't say that when someone has their location visible it's more often than not European when the vast majority of people don't have their location visible. That is the well known fact to everybody, who is visiting this forums on regular basis, in last few years...
