  1. What IGN said: I'm not highlighting journos for argument's sake, it's just I've never played one second of an Assassin's Creed game, but I want a fun day one title on PS4. Rumor is Target is having a Buy Two, Get One Free deal on next-gen games during launch week ... if so, Lego Marvel Superheroes, Killzone Shadowfall, and perhaps Black Flag. Ars made it sound like, if you've played AC games before, Black Flag is kinda bland and samey, with terrible AI. IGN made it sound like a big-ass oceanic sandbox game, that improved a lot over previous editions. I found the best reviews most of the time on arstechnica, for one reason, it is not gaming dedicated website and they do not need to live out of game comercials... although I still think they do prefer one company in particular which should not be named (after Ben Kuchera left for PA, my observation is that they dropped that behaviour little bit, but not completely), but their view of the gaming business is in my eyes one of the most objective I have seen on a webpage, which reviews games.
  2. Bullfrog, Westwood, Origin, do I need to say more?
  3. Not before they release Beyond Good and Evil 2, after that, I don't much care what happens to them. (Though Watch Dogs is shaping up to look pretty impressive) But tell me, aside from sports games, which I could not care less about, what was the last qualitatively good game EA released? Wing Commander Prophecy
  4. Ant that is exactly what I do not like about games. When I want to spent lot of time with exploring or walking through some city, I just buy me a flight ticket there and visit it myself. I never finished any Bethesda game, despite having lot of fun at the start with each one, but after week or two of playing, I got bored to dead... Always... Same with every other large sandbox game... With exception of Fallout 3... For some reason, I almost finished this game... But I think it was the DLCs, which I enjoyed much more than the game. I quit the game for a year, when I reached the carrier. And for another year when I finished Dunwich... And I finished every God of War game I touched, despite me sucking a lot with everything except RPGs, I even finished God of War III on platinum. I just need a game, where there is something to do every second of the game, not a game where you have to walk around for hours to get to your next objective.
  5. God of War are better games though
  6. Only place where I had problems so far was with my current setup was the above mentioned Spider Lair, where I was attacked by 3 Sword Spiders, 3 Giant Spiders and two Ettercaps. And surprise - surprise, Xan saved the day with Horror and Sleep, then Shar-Teel, Ajantis and MC kicked the **** out of the mobs... Err... I have missed the edit of previous post. I meant to write "And I am not leveling up my MC beyond level 2 on purpose, ..." What I do kinda really hate about BG1 is that you are almost impossible to do proper neutral playthrough of the game with the way how is Reputation handled in the game... If you want to decrease your rep without getting mental serial killer douchebag, you have very few opportunities...
  7. Started BG Trilogy with few additional mods (UB1 and UB2) Gone for little bit unconventional party this time. Shapeshifter as MC, Ajantis, Shar-Teel, Safana, Xan and slowly moving story to be able to recruit Quayle. Using Branwen till that time. I am in Cloakwood at the moment, just cleaned the Spider Lair. After playing for few days, all I can say, that I do not understand the big hate about Xan... I know he does not know how to nuke properly, but if you put him in Robes of Neutral Archmage and give him Gauntlets of Ogre Power, he can make serious **** with his Moonblade, illusion school for defense and crowd control spells for mayhem on battlefield... You just have to take little bit care of him until he gets few more HPs... Even with this party, I was in need of sleeping outside of city only once... And I am not leveling up my MC on purpose, just to be able to get low level version of Quayle in chapter 5.
  8. The good thing is, human will wreck this piece of rock sooner or later The bad thing is, it might take few more years than our lives... So the post-apoc cartography will be worthy career opportunity only for our children
  9. Looking at successful "reboots", we have.... Deus Ex? At least I can't think of anything else. I guess YMMV even on that, but I found it to be a good game that was faithful to the original. Mortal Kombat "9" can be named as another successful reboot
  10. http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/10/valve-reveals-specs-for-its-prototype-steam-machines/ I think it is step in the right direction, just that it should have been done long time ago and by another company, which is not so enforcing in the DRM field... No online DRM is still the only reason, why I prefer to play and buy games on consoles and not on PC...
  11. Doing some preparations for Pathfinder Serpent's Skull Adventure Path... It is so much work to do compared to Pathfinder Society scenarios, but looking more entertaining and challenging for player's and GM, if done properly. Spent 4 days so far, we had first character creation day so far, but only 3 out of 4 were able to finish they characters. We'll see if we can start the game this week
  12. Haha, I know the completionist feeling, I am now and then still playing few hours a month to slowly go towards Star Ocean 4 100% Battle Trophies completed. It's going slowly in 3 years I got almost 400 hours played and still minimum 100 to go until getting all that's needed for the rest of trophies I don't know if my completionist side is THAT extreme. Mostly, I'll stick with a game, off and on, within the same calendar year. If I haven't finished some achievements past that point, it's shelved for good unfinished. Hehe, I am not that extreme as well, just I really have fun playing Star Ocean 4, of course with exception of one battle trophy, 30k kills for Arumat But I try to get all out of every game I own I still have lot of games I played only once and then shelved without trying to get all trophies or achievements
  13. I think he's commenting on people that make scathing comments about BioWare games for having things that they don't like in it (i.e. romances, cinematic experiences), despite the fact that BioWare has been doing it for some time in their games and that, to use your words, people should simply "know the lie of the land." Mostly not commenting on this, and I am not playing neither GTA games neither Bioware games lately for reasons of my own, but really... People commenting on Romances in Bioware games is as ridiculous as trying to fill basket with water... Bioware is making romances since dawn of the company... If people hate romances so much, they should skip their games, simple as that, because even me, who no longer plays their games, I can't imagine a game made by Bioware without this content, and I would not want their games without this content... It is some kind of Trademark of their games, in which they are different from any other game made... Same with GTA or Duke Nukem and it's misogyny... or for other reason Michael Bay's movies... they are shallow and full of effects, but it is Bay's trademark and if you are not into this kind of entertainment, going to his movies is your fault, not Bay's...
  14. The thing that I don't understand is why you play a game when the experience sounds unenjoyable. We are all different of course, so when you describe a situation in a game where you square your shoulders and soldier on, I probably would have uninstalled the game and refreshed the forum a hundred times till I found something else to waste my time with Because I'm a completionist and right now there's a big fat "earn 60 points by reaching 2500 EGO rating" achievement still available to me. Also, when the server is NOT laggy, I actually have a fun time with Defiance. So I play once in a while in hopes I get the rare non-laggy night of gaming in. If it's a game I downright hate, I do give up. I've got quite a few games on my shelf that I didn't bother finishing. Haha, I know the completionist feeling, I am now and then still playing few hours a month to slowly go towards Star Ocean 4 100% Battle Trophies completed. It's going slowly in 3 years I got almost 400 hours played and still minimum 100 to go until getting all that's needed for the rest of trophies
  15. I didn't see mention of option to held a tea party at your stronghold... /disappoint
  16. I am atm thinking about 330 pizzas so I can unlock all the extra epic loot adventures. My party is now level 7 so it is the last chance to be able to play all the locked dungeons and get most of it.
  17. Hmm how much pizza did you bought if I may know? I am at the moment considering the same, but not yet sure. I played it only for 3 days, but I am enjoying it so far...
  18. Just finnished Tales of Xillia for the second time, and was able to get a Platinum Trophy whithout even needing to do much grinding The game is awesome and after long time I found a game which were able to hold me more than 100 hours without ever wanting to switch to another game... Timer shows 133 hours and 17 minutes when I finished the game d(O.o)b
  19. Heh, you might just have to. The Souls games aren't easy, as you might have heard, so getting a little bit of practice before Dark Souls 2, a game which I think might be a step harder, might help out a bit. Dark Souls *is* fantastic though. It's very atmospheric, has great substance-over-style type of combat, a whole load of playstyle choices, it has an open world where all levels are connected even if they look drastically different from one another, interesting lore that's not in your face but hidden in dialog and item descriptions, amazing level and monster design, a lot of secrets, etc. That'd be the case for me even if the PvPers weren't a bunch of cheaters, because my Dualshock 3 occasionally disconnects from my PC, and in Dark Souls, that can mean death even if you manage to reconnect in 3 seconds. So I guess I'll just have to pick up the PS3 version of Dark Souls 2. Bit of a pity That's not a pity, that's one of the best investments I have ever made But for some reason, which I am unable to explain, I liked Demon's Souls more...
  20. Hmm I do not know if anyone here plays anything like this, but Card Hunter - interesting free to play browser game - just got released few days ago... http://www.cardhunter.com/game-info/ It is still few days pretty slow due to pretty hard traffic
  21. And of course without localization to English
  22. Now if they remove with this move the Online only portion for Singleplayer as well, I might finally purchase the game and expansion as well...
  23. God you're so full of **** it's not even funny anymore. Nobody gets any money from a PB download. The publisher/developer get's his money when you legally buy their game first. How do you apply your patches to your legally bought software is up to you and up to the customers rights granted to you by the law of the country where are you living. You should learn more about the universals laws of european union or you get shafted a lot in the future ;-) PS. Nobody gets a money from buying CD key from some russian site, too. And it's again the EULA of Steam, you have agreed upon, when creating Steam account. The legality of said EULA in many EU countries is questionable, but no one yet challenged it at court yet. And until it is challenged, it is a valid document. And doing anything outside of the coverage of this document is indeed copyright infringement or breaching the license agreement. Have a nice day ;-)
  24. It's called "Know your customer rights" ;-) And you know, your thing of buying CDkeys from "shady" sites has more in common with copyright infringement than downloading DRM cleaned patch using P2P software;-)
  25. I always find it amusing when people are willing to crack their games and in exchange waive all the patches that come through the Uplay client. Guess some people prefer to be stuck with a buggy Alpha version. You know, the "shady" guys are offering most of the time post release support as well Some of them even at better quality, than the publishers Why do you advocate piracy? You do not know that making backup copy and circumventing DRM of your legally purchased copy of your software is completely legal in the whole European Union? It's in legal terms the same to download patch from Steam as to download the DRM circumvented patch from other "shady" site, if you are legal owner of the software. It has absolutely nothing to do with piracy. It's called fair use...
