Well not half, but at least the first part. That's why I never watch any trailer made by Square, they are doing amazing job at completely spoiling their games...

Quest freeze

The game is awesome, but I have the same freezing issue as well ( iPad Air 4 with iOS 9.3.1 -

Started to play Lightning Returns NG+ on normal difficulty. I still don't like it ( But well it's not that bad, if it would be standalone game, but it does not deserve Final Fantasy name :-/ At least all the items are carried over, so you do not have to repeat all that fetch quests. The game compared to Crisis Core, which had similar gameplay, really suffers from all the stupid MMO-type quests. At some point it just stops to be fun, if you have to kill 40 monsters which spawn one by one in Luxerion :-/

We'll see about it, I am trying to avoid any spoilers (so far successfully) until I get my hands on it (unfortunattely, I'll be unable to play it before october, because I am waiting for the new PS4K model). I have Star Ocean 1 and 2 on PSP, and enjoyed them as well. TBH, I am now disappointed, that there are no more Battle Trophies in the game It was nice fun to go for them ( well except Arumat's/Edge 30000 kills and -logy drops, these sucked ass ), it really made this game longlasting experience )

To tell a little bit more about it, I played the game with "self-made story mode", where I was going only for boss battles and mandatory trash battles. Besides boss battles, I have picked up just chests and mining/harvesting nodes for Experience. I have finished the game after 40 battle. Few of them took more than 20 minutes. I think, the game can be completed with 37 battles, maybe 36, but I needed at second boss more experience, to make it little bit easier The hardest battle was battle against Kokabiel, because I have forgotten to give to my characters two crafted accessories and teaching them HP Bonus skills. After I noticed that, I have killed him on my first attempt I can't wait to put my hands on the Star Ocean 5, which will be released in few months, and I hope it will be at least half as much fun as Star Ocean 4. But also hope, that the story will be better

Today is the day, when I have arrived at the end of a long road. I have today achieved Platinum Trophy for Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope International. The first time, I have started the game, was more than 5 years ago, in January 2011. To get all the trophies, I had to finish it on 4 different difficulties, and do 900 different battle tasks for all 9 characters, all in all it took me more than 750 hours of net gaming time. O.o I enjoyed it most of the time, but unfortunately, the last playthrough on Chaos, when I was doing just the story mode, without doing any sidequests, showed me again the biggest flaw of the game. The main character ... Edge Maverick is holier than the Pope, and sometimes highly annoying because of that :-/ But thankfully the game as a whole, is satisfactory and challenging, especially, when you go for the Battle Trophies and Optional Bosses. And that was the main reason, why I have decided in 2011, after finishing the game for the first time, that I have to get the Platinum on this one

Guys I'm thinking of starting on DS1 ? But I'm not sure I have patience to keep going back every time I die?Is it worth....you guys all seem to like it? Well, you will die a lot in the game. But there are severel bonfires in each area, which are checkpoints. So once you know the path to the boss, you can ignore most enemies and run to the boss area. I really think it's worth to stick to the game and not give up. It has unique storytelling and multiplayer, great bossfights and fantastic exploration. The level and world design in DS1 is simply brilliant. I have DS1 &2 on Steam .....okay so your view is just learn the game play What class would you recommend for a novice? That really depends on you what is easier. For me it was very hard to play melee builds, because my r3flexes at my current age are not what they used to be decade ago, so I have gone for stealth with magic approach, and it worked for me pretty ok. Have not finished DS1 yet, becaues time, but I have finnished Demon's Souls 4 times that way and I am having Platinum Trophy for that game on PS3. Took me almost 800 deaths to achieve that and over hundred hours :-D

Yes but surly the goblin makes you at least think of racism...so you can play a game and think of racism in RL So its a win win for everyone? No. Goblin accuses my character of racism, not me. And if he is saying that, he is probably right. What happens in game has no relevancy to what is happening in RL. And if the setting is interesting, for me to enjoy the game, it is the same to play power mad racist piece of ****, or rainbow pissing carebear lover. -

Maybe you were joking, but I'm pretty sure the vast majority of games either have nothing to do with SJW issues or are pretty clearly not in line with the 'SJW agenda' Simply put, there is no evidence that people like Sarkeesian are actually affecting the direction of the gaming industry. It's all about the money, and games like The Witcher and The Division are setting the tone with huge profits. Yes I was joking and teasing Bruce a little bit :-P I still hope, that humanity has still enough intelligence to not change everything to Gattaca-style sterile world where any difference from the only "socially accepted" norm is punished ;-) -

I dunno, "maybe have female characters who are not terrible stereotypes" and "maybe have characters who are not straight" doesn't sound like "an attempt to piggyback issues into a popular game series" to me. It sounds more like, well, common sense. I mean, you can fault the execution, but I see nothing objectionable about the intent. But the stereotypes belong in our culture and daily lfe as much as any individual non-stereotype. I am sorry, but it is utter retardness to try and force anybody to change their character design, when the woman has big boobs. I stated it few times before on this forums. I love girls with small boobs, but if every woman in the world had the same cupsize, the world would be much sadder place to live. Everyday life has tons of different flavours, so why some people want to deprive the entertainment of the different kind of flavours? Real women have different personalities, from successful busineswomen to shameless golddiggers. Different body proportions, from A-cups to F-cups, from slim to XXL. Different feelings about their sexuality, from nuns to nymphs. Now tell me one intelligent reason, why someone should be ashamed if he/she want to create fictional character in a movie or a game acting as golddigger with F-cups openly enjoying her sexuality and controling males through seduction and her sexual innuendo? -

@BruceVC. Well, I see no reason to flame each other, that's why I frequent OBS forums most frequently, compared to other forums, which are around the globe. Despite enjoying sarcasm sometimes, and having my own view on how the "ideal" world should look like, I do respect other people oppinion, and even if I find it ridiculous (and I know many people think the same about my oppinions) I would never try to forcefeed anyone with my worldview, and the same I expect from the opposite side. That is the reason, why I am sometimes very vocal about it, when someone tries to shove something down my throat without even trying to listen to my oppinion. And to your question: I see both extreme sides of the spectrum ridiculous, the GG guys are as crazy as SJW. I love politicaly incorectness in movies, games and in real life as well, and I am not ashamed of that. I love that, despite being from my father's side member of minor nation living in my country. Both parents have different religions and father's side and mother's side of family have also complete opposite view on pilitics and west/russia relations. And I am odl enough to remember how was the way of life under ideology of normalization in communistic regimes. That is one big reason why I respect everyones oppinion, and demand that from everyone else. If some GG guys feel, that SoD is not their cup of tea, they have are free to not support the product, but bitching about it and trying to get some people fired because of it is over the top (aka GG nazis). If some SJW guys feel, that e.g. Hatred or Deponia, is not their cup of tea, the have the same right to nor support it as well. But telling me, that I should not be able to have different oppinion than their own, well to put it mildly, they can write an assay about it on a paper, put it in a nice and bling-bling package and shove it up their ass. I am sad that SoD that it is not exactly my cup of tea, but when you read all my posts in this thread, I have nowhere said, that people should not buy the game. I even stated that I might be willing to buy the game at some point in the future, when it hits right price. Even though I do not agree with the political agenda of the lead writer of the game. And yes, I will be ridiculing the inclusion of transgender character, when I see it fit, but not because the character is transgender (we have very close family friends which have 8 years old boy born as a girl, so I know very good, what these people and their closests family experience in everyday life), but because the writing of this character is atrocious. -

Why dont you guys just create your own game that has no SJW influence? We had many of these games few years ago, but then some of the SJWs decided, that we are not allowed to have such kind of entertainment ;-) -

Oookey, time to go start a campaigh about how Hatred exceptionally portrays SJW issues, and how customers are unable to notice its deep impact in the industry :-P We'll see how many extra sales it will bring from people who never boot up the game :-D -
That was the reason, why I have picked Xhosa in EU2. It played completely different to what I was used with Austria in EU1. I have also tried to play Swahili in EU3 for few hours. I can say, that country is crazy hard. Much harder than Xhosa at start. Most of the time, you lose your first War with Mutapa. (I was able to defeat them only once in 5 starts), you have very low manpower and start with 10 provinces (9 provinces are max for tribal governments, else you get rebels.) When I have finally won against them and vassalized them, my ruler died and I got rebels, right away, even though I have sold 1 province to Mutapa. Right after I was able to sort out the rebels, my Muslim neighbours (i think it was Nadj) already had Land Tech advantage and declared war on me and at the same time, Mutapa break out from their vassalage. After three hours, I got completely annihilated and ass-kicked I would love to try out the game with them again, but I will need more training with EU3, because it feels harder for me than two previous games. @Bartimaeus: To bad, industrial era is not my favourite time period for gaming as well, but the game did sparked some interest in me, when I have first seen it. I have purchased it with all other Paradox game during GOG sale, and I was drawn into the game a lot and enjoyed it. But after a while, my attempt ended with being annexed by Great Britain . For me it would be Hearts of Iron, which I would consider as a miss when I have launched it first time after purchase. I do not know, if I ever will get into the game and enjoy it at least half as much as EU series. @all others: any hints, where can I find and learn little bit more about how to play Victoria 1 + Expansion would be welcome. The learning curve compared to EU and EU2 is much higher, and l feel little bit clumsy with it
-
Well I have seen Twitch stream of Pedro Almeida playing Kongo, after release of Mare Nostrum expansion. It looked really interesting and challenging from my point of view, but because of Steam, I have never played EU4 before, so I really do not know how the gameplay chnaged from the vanilla version of the game. I have started to watch some streams just after release of previous expansion, and mostly from Rabid Bunny, but he is to fast for me to see why he is doing what he is doing :-P Still If this game would ever hit GOG, I know I would enjoy it, from what I have seen so far, because I already know, that it fixed some of the issues which I had in EU2, but I am kind of sad, that that Paradox does not have "Real History" mode available in their game anymore. Pure sandboxy feeling after EU3 is not as challenging, as trying to change the course of history, when the real historic events hit the player ( Barti, do you know, are can you give me some advice, wher I can find some material about Victoria 1 with expansion? I am really bad at that game, and all the guides, which I have found are just for Vic2 game, which is much easier to get into, from what I have seen so far.

Nope, but as I have said, this review has informed me on all of the issues, which I was worried about, and previous reviews, despite being solid, did not talked about all of them. And I know, from his posts, that he had similar oppinion about some of the bull**** which Beamdog might have put in the game, so if he does think that it was way overblown, I might find that after playing the game as well. Of course, only when the price hits the sweet spot for me. Not gonna pay full price on this, because I have my reasons and oppinions as well ;-) -
After pretty long time, caused by my vacation, I have finally finished my Europa Universalis 2 game this Sunday. Nation fo Xhosa conquered 52 provinces in Africa, and successfully ended up as 5th most powerful country in the world Unfortunately, due to some clumsy game mechanics, it is very hard to get with some nations to high enough Land and Naval technologies events, to stay competitive with Euro and Muslim countries, so I was unable to conquer whole Africa, and get better results in accumulating Victory Points. Still playing such an outsider was crazy fun for me, and the outcome of the game is on much higher level, than I would ever thought. TBH I was thinking, that some time after in 17th century, I'll be obliterated by Portugal. But In the end, I was even able to win few wars against them, despite very big Tech handicap. Anyway the last day of my campaign, was in the vein of defending myself against countries, which guaranteed Ethiopia's independence, which almost ended fatal for me But in the end, I was able to Annex Ethiopia, and take out every Persian and Ottoman provinces in between my kingdom and Nubia. Though Nubia have saved me from getting kicked my ass by Ottomans, because they had crazy number of troops, but were unable to get them, due to lack of Military Access to their lands Anyway, if you would like to know little bit more in detail about the game, you can read more in detail about it >>here<< in my Let's Play/AAR

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the game. It is first game review, which I find unbiased and informed on mostly all of the stuff, which I was worrying about when internet was being an internet in the last few weeks. You actually changed my attitude from "Do Not Buy!!!", to "Maybe buy, when I reduce my backlog and the price is right". Thanks again EDIT: Have you considered to write/copy it on GOG as well (if you have account)? It really could use something like that in between all of the garbage from both sides of "Social Justice" man can find there. -

It's clearly outcome of some developers trying to bring "inclusivity" to the whole new level! Bring out the pitchforks!
