  1. Stupid question, but 1. is there a way to view the ranger pet stats? damage etc? 2. does the animal benefits from my armor rating and damage output? by a % or fixed by power level?
  2. It really isn't, except in the sense that if you're absolutely committed to the ranger class and absolutely committed to not having a pet, Ghost Heart is the only way to do that. But that's not exactly sound build advice, since a ranger without a pet is just a crappy rogue. Like it or not, Ranger is the pet class, and if you want to play a non-pet build, you should roll a different class. The main reason to pick Ghost Heart is that it's actually pretty good! In a party setting, the Ghost Heart's pet is a decent harasser. In a solo setting, the Ghost Heart's pet is an engagement-proof green circle on the field that requires a negligible drip-feed of Bond to maintain. And this is without going into Ghost Heart/Cipher, which is a big goofy pile of shenanigans. I was pondering something like that - good to hear that it works okay! What pet did you go with, incidentally? I chose wolf, which I think was a little mistake. I wish I had chosen bear for higher armor rating or boar for continuous regeneration which feels right. But since I haven't tested I am not sure. Also I wish there was a way to re-select animal companion. Wolf is nice and all, but he is squishy. I am going to do a play-thru the 1st 10 levels with Bear to see how he feels in comparison. My wolf died a few times, but it was mostly because I didn't pay attention to it to pull it close to me and attack my target only. That is something I wish they added, an option so ranger pet attacks only my target.
  3. Ok, so no hard agro. That explains why I am being targeted extremely fast. And yeah I am trying to avoid that "sweet" candy flavor of the monk super fast unarmed attacks, and that's why I made a Ranger (stalker) / Paladin (kind wayfarer - to heal pet on FoDs). Might post the build as I have it so far, but I feel managing agro a hard thing. Maybe its just how I am used to agro in other games. And I got to think of this game more into the DnD rules, where there is really no tank, just penalizing targets for not focusing on the "tank" mentality. Thank you for your reply Grayrest
  4. After a few days of theory crafting, and help from this forum, I decided to forgo my attemps to play Monk as I feel I was handicapping myself by geting used to Swift Strikes mechanics, and hence any recovery speed from any other class would feel inferior. (https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/103950-shadowdancervotary-full-party-build-help/?hl=paladin). I am considering building a Stalker(ranger)/Kindwayfarer(paladin) or Paladin/Trickster(rogue). But I am finding myself in the same place. My "tank" doesn't seem to get the attention from the enemies and I am the one getting the brunt of the attacks, even when I wait a few seconds to position myself behind the target to flank. The enemy just turns around on the first hit and starts hitting my watcher. Anyone has any tips on how to make the tank actually tank? Note: I am using Eder as a Swashbuckler tank.
  5. I started a Shepherd build As King Wayfarer + Stalker. As it is since you want your pet attacking only stuff you are attacking that means he will be with me at all times. He goes low, FoD will heal it since that's the bonus from the Wayfarer. And with good defenses and good accuracy you still crit left and right.
  6. When in combat, if for some reason the enemy turns tail and reaches the 600 meters range you get out of combat, and that is ok. Problem is they go to full health automatically, and the Watcher ship stays with any damage suffered on the fight. So unless you had a quick save before the fight you have to fight that ship handicap because of an error on the system.
  7. Druid/Chanter (theurge) is quite good, melee sword+board does decent or you can dual wield with chants linger effects, druid spells. devastating in my opinion. Check Sin Tee build of Tekehu https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1394145549
  8. Persistent Distraction means every enemy you have engaged is Flanked all the time, on account of Distracted adding Flanked. This works wonders in combination with Stalker's Patience. I have been editing my build based on your feedback, all of you guys. Thanks, I am thinking I will try Helwalker/Trickster and see how I fare. As my debuff from helwalker can be somewhat mitigated and I can still drink potions to restore health during an Arcane Dampener spell.
  9. Shattered Pillar is bad and you should never use it. Nalpazca is significantly better if you want to spend wounds. I have a problem with Nalpazca atm, I hate the fact that in late game if there are 3-5 mages in the enemy party, (which I am doing PoTD) you will get Arcane Dampened left and right. Which means drug crash, and Nalplazca gets 100% healing debuff on drug crash. Which means if you want to stay alive, you need to take another drug when you have 3 enemies on your or more hitting you. I went thru 15 drugs on a Nemnok fight on PoTD and still died in the end 3 times. I think options are to try out a Helwaker/Trickster, since you can wound yourself for wounds and with the Illusions spells avoid getting hit. I started late, last night, a Bleakwaker/Trickster (Bw/Tr), but I felt that it took forever to kill enemies in lower level areas, where when I was doing my initial votary kindwayfarer/nelpazca (drugless until leaving Maje) I was killing stuff a lot faster. Even when I remade with no monk subclass I felt it was stronger than Bw/Tr. Not sure if I am doing something wrong then. Thank you all 3 for your inputs as it gives me a bit of insight. I undestand the concept of using Tuotilo... but why Stalker's Patience... because I am going to try to position myself to flank targets, and hence it means more raw damage?
  10. Maybe for a classes you can go for Marauder (Rog/Bar) or Shadowdancer (Mnk/Rog) as they feel the most extreme and thug like. Also a Scout (Rng/Rog) with a boar sounds cool.
  11. I am looking to build a party with a Shadowdancer or Votary. So far most builds I see are for solo play, so their synergy in the class combo is based on, well, solo play. I am trying to do a classic party. Serafen - Witch (Bar/Cyp) - Striker/Debuffer *Using Sin Tee Witch King build as it makes him a fast and reliable striker https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1399216139 Pallegina - Crusader (Pld/Fgt)- Striker/Tank *Using modified version, also, from Sin Tee Valkyrie https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1400804034 Xoti - Priest - Healer/Buffer *As she is primarily healer buffer, only taking abilities that will work towards that goal, as I don't want to use resources on attacks on her. 1. Tekehu - Theurge (Drd/Cht) - Buffer/Debuffer/Healer (Modified Sin Tee Deep Sea King Build) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1394145549 or 2. Maia (for full martial party) - Scout (Rng/Rog)- Striker (Modified Sin Tee Reaper's Build) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1396597008 So this leaves me, either Shadowdancer (Mnk/Rog)(fast attacks with good defense, I feel that as a Watcher I am most often than not targeted) or a Votary (Pld/Mnk). Role: This is going for an "Tanky" Striker, but I want to avoid if possible getting hit Subclass: Paladin (Wayfarer or Bleakwaker) Monk (Helwalker or no subclass) Rogue (Trickster) Reasoning: Streetfighter I don't want streetfighter rogue as I am not going to position myself to try to get the hits and I am going to be low on health (see below on stats) so 50% bloodied will be very dangerous position to be in. Nalpazca: I already had a really bad experience as nalpazca, with drug management, I ran out of drugs on PoTD Nemnok area and having that 100% healing debuff on each Arcane Dampener is not something I crave to experience again. Shattered Pillar: You only gain wounds thru Auto-Attacks, and only a max of 5 wounds total, which are enough to do most abilities, but you will not be using them often. And I feel that AI code for enemies target the Watcher a lot on different skills, unsure if its something I am doing wrong. Hence I will be able to generate wounds but getting hit, since I will be getting hit it seems. Assassin: This is a niche subclass with the mindset that you will be doing attacks from invisible and stealth; which I feel is more suitable for solo play. *Paladin's subclass all are good with little drawbacks, but as stated above, I feel I get targeted a lot by enemy attacks, so having this burst heal while doing damage is amazing. Stats: (With Berath's Blessing) MIG: 15 (17) CON: 8 (10) DEX: 15 (17) PER: 16 (18) INT: 12 (14) RES: 12 (14) Low CON, as you are trying to avoid getting hit, not soak the damage. Both builds below will function in the same way, although the Paladin has Lay on Hands and if Kind Wayfarer is chosen as its subclass each Flames of Devotion will heal you. I don't like min/max builds as I feel they have, well high strong points and also really weak ones; but you could dump CON more if you want to increase PER or DEX or even raise RES higher, but if you as choosing Rogue Trickster subclass you get so many Illusion spells that increase your Deflection that 1-3 extra points in Deflection will not make that much difference in the end. Race: Wood Elf (Dexterity Affliction resistance is nice to have, as that means my Quick from Swift Strikes or Swift Flurry will not get cancel) Skills: Alchemy, Athletics (4) As I am going to simulate Nalpazca drug abuse, but without the drug crash negatives. At level 20 you should have over 300s Drug time use. If: Going for Stalker's Patience you might want to put a better spread of points between Alchemy and Stealth (as weapon skill scale of stealth) Passive: Survival and Streetwise (they are used in many checks) Background: Deadfire & Hunter Equipment: Head: Fair Favor Chest: Miscreant's Leather or Devil of Caroc Neck: Precognition Hands: Ogre Gloves (+2 Might) Ring1: Chameleon's Touch Ring2: Entonia Signet Ring Belt: Girdle of Mortal Protection or The Amazing and Truly Incredible Instant Potion Belt Back: Cloak of Greater Deflection Boots: Boots of the Stone Weapons: Low level (1-10) Unarmed + Tuotilo as it creates great synergy with unarmed strikes and most of your attacks from monk are Primary only attacks. After level 11+ Votary: Stalker's Patience orMagram's Favor + Sungracer or Sun and Moon Shadowdancer: Stalker's Patience + Pukestabber or Rust's Poignard or Marux Amath Stalker's Patience was added because of @grasida: "Stalker’s patience works very well with the monk crit abilities, since it can be enchanted with a 20% chance to recover immediately on crit. That can proc itself and can proc off of or from swift flurry and heartbeat drumming. The 1/3, 1/4 and 1/5 attack to immediately attack again whenever you crit feed off of each other and lead to some really fearsome crit chains." and @gkathellar: Persistent Distraction means every enemy you have engaged is Flanked all the time, on account of Distracted adding Flanked. This works wonders in combination with Stalker's Patience. Shadowdancer Votary
  12. Durance - +1 Con/+5% Max Health Zahua - +1 Con/+5% Bonus to Beneficial Effects (Edited per Patch notes) Grieving Mother - +1 Res/+5 All Def against Int Afflictions Attacks Devil of Caroc - +1 Dex/+1 Armor Pen against Kith (edited per Oriz) Eder - +1 Mig/+2 Deflection Mahena - +1 Mig/+5 All Def against Mig Afflictions Attacks Kana - +1 Int/+5 All Def against Dex Affliction Attacks Aloth - +1 Int/+5 Reflex Hiravias - +1 Dex/+1 Slash Armor Pallegina - +1 Res/+1 Shock Armor Sagani - +1 Per/+2 Accuracy (while attacking same target as an ally) Gift of the Machine - +1 Mig/+5% Max Health Most of this was taken from reddit and other post. Just decided to compile it into a neat thread. If you are building a custom PoE1 background (as I did myself) you may only care about characters who actually appear in PoE2. So careful when choosing. Aloth, Eder, Pallegina are characters who you can recruit as companions in PoE2, which enrich the storyline somewhat. The rest in my opinion are expendable, again it goes my RP ideals, but one can say that during the Watcher's death the part restored from his soul was changed somewhat, and so decisions made during PoE1 era, are in a sense against your current views. Assuming you are Benevolent character (Lawful Good, Neutral Good or Chaotic Good).
  13. The only problem right now with nalpazka is that if you get Arcane Dampened while on drugs, it creates a drug crash, and once arcane dampener runs out the drug crash remains. Which means 100% healing reduction on your character. I am already lvl 13 Votary, Kind wayfarer / Nelpazka and sometimes in a single encounter, if there are many mages I have to take 3-6 drugs during the fight. Which is not fun.
  14. I am having problems staying alive while bloodied... I am not sure what I am doing wrong. (decided to go Kindwayfarer because of this; but that means any time I use main ability, well there goes bloodied, because I healed to full).
  15. Please fix this, I am tired of having to reapply drugs on Nalpazca monk 5 times in the same fight. This is making me rethink rerolling my Votary (from nelpazca into helwalker or no subclass) because its extremely disruptive. If i get dampened enough times, more than the amount of drugs on my inventory then I am as good as dead.
  16. Aha, so that's how you use the spoiler tag! So: So if you, at Maje took the Huana of her back and then when you reached Tikawara, also helped the spy, what will happen? Because I thought I was doing to right thing by helping Maia.
  17. I just have the same problem on 2 characters, problem is both are Votary (PLD/MNK). Upon upgrading Swift Strikes into Swift Flurry if I retrain after that I lose Swift Strikes.
  18. Upon reaching lvl 8 or 9 I decided to remove an ability which was not rolling it for me. Upon retraining at Queen Berth inn, I lose my monk ability Swift Flurry on my Votary. This is on the 2nd game file different character around the same level that this happens. So it must be a bug when retraining and it downgrades to the basic form of Swift. I have 2 game files, different races, since I restarted the game because of the bug. Now I have encountered the same problem upon retraining. Just tested it, with a previous file I had where I had not upgraded into Swift Flurry on my multiclass character. I dont lose any skills, with the file that the skill is upgraded, I lose both Swift Strikes and Swift Flurry. Any help would be appreciated. included a pic and send a shared link emailed at bugs@obsidian.net with the save files. *Edit: I seem to lose any beginning skill that has been upgraded on the watcher. including the prerequisite for Sworn Rival also, which was chosen at creation.
  19. @ Arkemyr's laboratories, in his storage area, with high perception you discover a hidden object behind some paints. Well might as well stay hidden because for some reason its unclickable. Any ideas? **FIXED, HAD TO DO A SAVE FILE AND THEN RELOAD THE GAME
  20. I am no good at this, as I am using GIMP, and its the 2nd time I use this software ever. This is convo size, so just use paint to cut and resize to si and sm size
  21. I edited this male elf. Since I see we are missing a lot on male portraits. And mostly elvish.. Hope you like it. Can anyone edit the water color to look more like ingame ones?
