I enjoyed MW4, it was cheesy and the acting over the top but for video games there are far worse acting sequences out there. Gameplay was pretty decent, not as captivating as 3 was but not horrible. Now the first expantion pack Black Knight, that was craptastic. MW4 Mercenaries was pretty good but too liner for a mercenary game, should have had more options when it came to contracts. My favorite was MW2 Mercenaries, loved that game. I am so excited about a new MW game, my fingers are crossed, if they can do city fighting like the trailer implies i will be very happy.

Now i am fine with them releasing it as it was back then, but will it at least have the patches already integrated? Or am i going to have to hunt for them so the game doesn't just crash on me after booting up

I second that. But, since when were there stealthed rogues? All the enemies were visible to my party (unless Neeshka detected them for me)... you are thinking of the warehouse which isn't that bad. He is refering to a later level in a mansion where just about every enemy is a stealthed rogue who just appears out of no where to backstab you. Much harder then the warehouse. I hate that level in the game, whenever i get to it i dread it personally, so bothersome as at least for me they constantly critical hit their backstabs. First of all you should have your entire party there instead of just two people, it is a very hard part of the game and you shouldn't limit yourself for it, take Elane for her magic or Neeshka for her detection ability. Secondly....well, go slowly and if you need to backtrack to the beginning of the level or something so you can rest, yes it is a bit cheap to spam the rest function but for levels like that it is almost necessary.

LA is announcing a new game from an old franchise
Atom523 replied to I want teh kotor 3's topic in Computer and Console
Oh if they made a new X Wing game i would cry in joy, i have missed that series so much ever since X Wing Alliance being so awesome. If they are able to enhance the gameplay even more, add more ships of all varieties. I will keep my fingers crossed. -
Yeah times like these forced me to stop actually planning out adventures. Now i have an encounter and character that i want to introduce in the adventure, and really that's about it. I know that m players will try to be creative and will end up messing everything up. It is much easier now, when i had the adventure planned out i would get flustered when they totally screwed things up, now it is easier for me to think of something new on the fly. But i like it better that way, i love giving my players freedom and see what kind of trouble they find themselves in. You never know when one of the players will start mocking the angry god i put in the background (which i had no intention on having them fight) and i have to bring it into the fight to smack them around heh heh.

Ok, here are some that i personally like (minus mario galaxy since you said you didn't want it) Twilight Princess, Mad World, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Punch Out, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and Madden 09 Wii (i personally am not a fan of sports games but it really uses the Wii controls well and the 5 on 5 deformed people football is surprisingly fun) Also you can purchase a lot of old Nintendo, Sega, and other games for cheap on the virtual console. Sure you can get emulators and play them for free, but i personally feel that if you really like the game you should support the company that makes it.

Is that really surprising? WoW is mostly played by bored housewives and "gamers" who play only that. We are the hardcore ADD crowd here. sniff, sniff... i play a wide range of video games, not just WoW, i also play PnP RPGs as well,

I play World of Warcraft, and oddly enough i have more of a social life then i did before i started playing. Though it had nothing to do with the game really

It is a bit odd that they are giving out items that will enable you to finish the game quicker, but hey why not. I haven't bothered to preorder any games in quite a while maybe i will do it for this game, not sure if i will actually use the ring but having the option to is nice.

Currently [rather concurrently]... Fallout Tatctics Ravenloft:Stone Prophet Stonekeep Redneck Rampage Rides Again Next on the list is Spellforce, Sacrifice, and a return to Arx Fatalis *At the moment I just found something called Loki that I'll be trying next ~Its by Dreamcatcher, so expectation is low... **It looks like LOKI uses Gamebryo (I see all these Nif Files being copied by the installer.) I loved Sacrifice. One of the most imaginitive and enjoyable RTS games I've ever played. Yeah Sacrifice is really great, i am quite sad that my copy got scratched and won't let me reinstall it When i have some more free funds i will have to find another copy somewhere.

Yeah the DKs needed to be nerfed, but they have actually backtracked a bit and removing some of the nerfing but only a little bit. Blood strike (i think that was what it was called) used to be able to restore over 20% of your health, the nerfing reduced it to around 2% of your health, now it is up to 10% or so. So it was nerfed which is the proper thing to do, but it has been reduced to an acceptable amount.
-
They nerfed my Death Knight I didn't read the patch notes so i just hopped on and realized my blood strike was only draining like 20% of the health that it normally would. Now i cannot fight against 5 level 80s at once I always knew the DK was overpowerd and it would be nerfed eventually but it is sad that the day is here.

I have been having the first problem as well, i will try to use my main character after casting the spells and hopefully it will work. It bothered me that i couldn't seem to do the Skymirror quest anymore.

hey i have a question, i just discovered Fort Independence, and when i approach it the Outcasts start attacking me for no reason. Is this a bug, or does the fact that i have a very high karma mean they automatically hate me?

Vault 106 Have you done the quest where you rescue the Wastelanders from the Super Mutants? I only have one rescue so far, but got stuck in a house surrounded by four Super Mutants with two mini-guns, a shotgun, and a hunting rifle. Have you gone by Germantown? I'm loading up my rifle before I do the Big Town mission. Ah, i went through Vault 106 but my computer and lockpicking skills are horribly low so i wasn't able to get to the real important areas. I did rescue the wastelands and brought them back to Big Town. I have also rescued some random people but didn't escort them anywhere. I did go through the germantown police station. That was a bit of a pain to get through. That is where you rescue Red and her friend. I had to do a reload because they thought it would be fun to punch some super mutants after they ran out of the ammo i gave them. I have been rather lucky when it comes to super mutants outside of the capital, they tend to be poorly armed. They attacked bigtown after i rescued both of the people but since i had small arms tagged i was able to teach the people how to shoot so only one guy died in the attack. Pretty worthless town overall though. My problem with bigtown was that the only gun i had a decent amount of ammo for was the hunting rifle, which made it harder to take down multiple mutants at once. though the towns people are helpful if you teach them to shoot first. If you do and you have some good weapons then the SMs should go down pretty fast. Got some karma boosts i guess, not much else to do there. Got to utilize my medical training. Finally a use for tagging medicine. My main goal now is to get the power armor training and then the money to fix up the power armor. Though i think it is a minus 4 perception. that is bad, my perception is only a 6, if it goes down to a 2 that will really make VATS unworkable. i so should have tagged repair. I never realized how important it was going to be. I generally am low on cash, whenever i get some i spend most of it on repairs and the rest on extra stimpacks.

You do realize, of course, that, as the number of races rises, the chances that the developers will have enough time and resources to create unique content for all of them falls dramatically? I'll wait until I've seen the SoZ content before I decide what kind if things I want to see in a new expansion (which may or may not be a good idea at this point). Oh i completely understand. My priority would be to make each race noticeable by the NPCs and have corresponding dialog. The new races are a far secondary. Though if they do add new races i would prefer new more interesting races then what they seem to be doing like adding another type of elf, or dwarf, or half elf. I mean how many people honestly truly desire to play as 6 different types of elves? They just have some minor stat adjustments and do not effect dialog in any fashion as opposed to the other subraces. Yeah, i am greatly looking forward to SoZ, i like the overworld map content and the trade routes. Should be very interesting.
-
I would like some more races in general. I don't care about more subraces. Give me more fantastical character classes and make it matter. I want different people to react differently depending on what race i am. It always bothered me in the NWN2 how the guards outside the keep try to kill neeshka and then me as another demonic hybrid can walk in the front door with her and no one bats an eye.

I'm playing on easy. At level 2, I met my first group of super-mutants right outside of Anfur (Lucy's hometown). The first one blew my legs off with a missle launcher and the second ripped through me with a mini-gun. I was dead so fast, it wasn't funny. And I only had a Chinese officer's sword to fight them with. Really? huh, i did notice one super mutant with a rocket launcher nearby the drive in movie theater, but besides that 90% of mutants i saw outside the capital had hunting rifles, boards with nails in them and the occasional assault rifle. Now when i was in the capital there are some trenches going along the capital and i got hit by around 10 super mutants at once half of them having miniguns i got ripped to shreds in seconds. Usually i have just as much trouble if not more from raiders. Also Talon Company gave me a hard time for a while until i got the metal armor, now it is a bit easier. Where did you get the Chinese officer sword? I have yet to see it.

I am about 17 hours into the game and i just got dogmeat. He is nice to have, i am playing a good guy and I haven't been able to find a single person to hire to join me. Sure i found two people that temporarily joined me when i saved them from the super mutants but they blew through the ammo and guns i gave them really fast. Thankfully i saved it before they started trying to punch a group of 3 super mutants to death. Despite how easy it is for me to take the SMs out they weren't so lucky. I did notice that the super mutants were a lot stronger in the actual capital. They stopped using hunting rifles and brought out the miniguns and rocket launchers. One really cool scene i saw was in the Capital building. I saw some of the Talon mercenaries fighting some super mutants with a Behemoth. I saw one Talon merc fire off a FatMan at him then flee right into the hallway i was in, managed to take him out with VATS to the head. I think i took a single pot shot at it before the mercs took it out, thankfully the Mutants killed all but 3 of them and they weren't in great shape so they easily went down. I got loads of ammo and weapons. Oh can anyone tell me where the Pentagon is? I have two suits of power armor (regular and outcast) but i cannot use them until i assume I talk to the brotherhood of steel and do some stuff for them. Also where are the outcast based? I saw some of them in the wasteland but didn't find their HQ. It is funny, i have hardly seen the Brotherhood of Steel at all and i am pretty sure i am almost at the end of the main quest. I also skipped Galaxy News Radio heh.

BioWare/Lucas Arts game unveiled Oct 21
Atom523 replied to Maria Caliban's topic in Computer and Console
exactly, for all we know they could have a KOTOR 3 where most of the game happens in the republic and then for the last part you go into the unknown regions and find Reven and the Exile. All they have to do then is end the game with you all still there and there is no conflict. Or they can have Reven and the Exile die, that would work too. -
OK i have something, now this is from a game that my friend made some years ago the rules are a bit different from D&D. So my party is dropped near a city state that had been conquered by it's neighbors but due to some freedom fighters from another city state had been half reclaimed. Our job was to go in and help the resistance remove the invaders. So we arrive at the outskirts of the city and there are dead bodies everywhere, bodies from both sides scattered around, now as a necromancer i immediately to the horror of my party rush over to harvest parts. I screw up my roll to properly remove the body parts so my guy simply is playing with the guts and limbs of the recently dead. About this time the local troops of the freedom fighters arrive (a bunch of Dwarfs) and see me in my little act. Naturally this pisses them off but my group manages to convince them to ignore me. So they begin to question the soldiers as to what is going on, they give us the run down as to what is going on. We request a map of the area as to make our plans, they give us some vague directions and tell us to follow the smell as it used to be a breeding pen for a lovely delicacy which is a worm like creature which eats feces but can be chopped up and cooked like steak. My character stands up from his fun work and says to the leader "Oooh, i thought that smell was coming from the dwarf barracks" now the Dwarf is not amused and throws his axe into my head dropping me to the ground. I am brought back shortly afterward and we go through the city. We are ambushed by a Gnomish Slammer which is a gnome that is tortured until he is completely broken then implanted with a crystal which greatly increased his strength, warps his hands into claws and grows wings. The battle takes place in a basement and doesn't take very long and after we kill him i find a vault in the basement of the building and i pick the lock to enter. While my group is following me i have a few moments to myself in the vault. I find two very well dressed bodies laying on the ground. Being a necromancer i attempt to raise one of the bodies as a ghoul to serve me. Naturally i roll a 1 as i was doing constantly in this game. I thought that meant i would simply fail to raise him but he gets up and starts staring at me. He doesn't seem to be doing anything so i quickly remove all of his Identification symbols just as the group walks in. Sadly for me one of my group members was formerly of the elite guard of the city and recognizes the chancellor to the King and back hands me sending me flying into the wall cracking my head against some debris and I die once again. The Chancellor turns to the guy who struck me and lunges at him. Not out of any loyalty to me but the fact that he was now the closest person to him and my botching up the raising made him a vampire. He sinks his fangs into his throat and almost kills him before the group took him out. Now the funny thing is that my head has been almost totally smashed at this point but before they bring me back someone places a plate in where my head used to be. Now when i am brought back my head grows around and behind the plate. Now i cannot see as the plate is covering my face. I crawl to the body of the Gnome and pluck out his eyes. I do a roll to carve holes in the plate and to implant his eyes into me so i can see but i screw up that roll too. So my guy instead attaches the eyes to the front of the plate. Now i have a plate for a face and two eyes just sitting on the front of it thus earning my character the nickname "Plateface" which for the life of me i couldn't get rid of. Needless to say the entire game session i am constantly rolling critical failures a very aggravating night though it did cause many humorous events usually ending my life in the process. I must have been revived around 10 times in that mission. I did have my moment of hilarity in the end. We accomplish our mission, and even after that stop an inter dimensional invasion of these Minitor like creatures with four arms and six horns and lava like blood. We capture their hive queen and kill her body guards. As we are leaving i finally get my roll right and raise one of her headless guards to serve me. As we leave their dimension we are surrounded by their fleeing forces. I stand behind my ghoul and demand them to allow us to pass sticking my hand up where his head is suppose to be moving it imitating mouth movement. The army opens up a path for us and we do get around halfway through before they realize that he is a ghoul with no head. Naturally they turn to us and butcher us. The next thing we know we are waking up in a hospital with my Ghoul standing next to me. Apparently they ignored him and left our bodies rotting in the sun, and the colonial government that we were working for kindly brought us back.

BREAKING NEWS: NEW EXCLUSIVE FALLOUT 3 TRAILER
Atom523 replied to Llyranor's topic in Computer and Console
Deathclaws are not mutated bears, there are deathclaws, and there are mutated bears. Two different animals. Fatman makes sense as a prototype, in Fallout lore nuclear power was the wonderful solve all your problems innovation. Makes perfect sense that the US government would make squad level nuke weapons, after all they had power armor to protect the soldiers using it. -
Atom523 begins to drawn in the fear and pain from the fighting and begins to feed, as the shadowy energy enters his body his body looks healthier eyes shine brighter and an evil smile creeps across his face.
