  1. Obsidian should test the following very simple combo: Evoker Grimoire of Vaporous Wizardry/1injury+Rekvu's Fractured Casque Firethrower's Gloves + Pet Otto starcat + anything else Deleterious Alacrity of Motion->Infuse with Vital Essence->(Empowered) Meteor Shower->Minolletas Missile Salvo->Minolettas Missile Salvo->Wilting Wind/Piercing Sigil 3x->ability refund via empower point (if not used previously)->repeat
  2. It seems to scale very modestly at best I compared a 20 metaphysics character with Essence Interrupter vs Aamina's Legacy (20% damage lash) and the Aamina's Legacy did more damage.
  3. depends on the difficulty I'd say on PotD the Troubadour would get faster phrase generation more consistently than a crit skald, The reason is to actually crit stuff a lot n potd you would have to go one handed style and that may be a problem a troubadour can use two weapons and get the phrases faster.
  4. After observing how Ecea's Arcane blaster works on a cipher with access to full attacks or an item that gives full attacks like Rakhan Field boots I would have to say it is even more broken than the Red Hand at this point.
  5. Last time I tested the cipher level 1 passive penetrating visions boosted druid (and other casters) penetration on spells but I don't know if it has been changed now though. So fire spells could hit quite hard on a fury druid combo with the ring of focused flame and scion of flame on top if you really wanted it.
  6. By the way at high level if you have a support chanter they have a chant that gets rid of confusion as well. Modwyr is a good stat stick anyways if its lash bonuses apply to spells but I have not tested it specifically on a spellcaster.
  7. yeah the Helm is amazing...so on good on cipher, bleakwalker barbarian anything really it is tough to decide whom to give it to. the only con is that it looks kind of ugly and usually mismatched with any other outfit in the game.
  8. Not worth it's too slow...it is a good armor when soloing but otherwise not used. I second the choice comes down to devil of caroc armor or casita you have to test it in game for yourself if you have too little deflection and are getting hit too much go for casita. Magran's Favor is amazing on paladin. It is the offhand that is tricky. Theoretically, either Rust's or Sungrazer flail is the best dps choice in the offhand or Squid's Grasp/ Last Word or Kopana Taga for tanking.
  9. Added a video fight demonstration in the original post with the full Ai setting to make it clear how to optimize the damage output. cheers happy gaming!
  10. Is it better than the AOE damage you can do with blunderbuss? If you went Bleak Walker / Rogue dual wielding blunderbuss, could you do even better damage but in AOE? There was a fextralife Fanatic bulid for dual-pistol BW/Barb abusing FoD recently - sort of interesting. But that's before I found out the blunderbuss lets you apply the Rogue extra damage (from blinds, etc.) in AOE. Presumably it would let you do that with FoD too. Unless the damage of Blunderbuss is so much lower than pistol it's not worth it. The Red Hand will do better single target damage on such a build in the example when you face a boss/dragon enemy. on most mob pulls though yeah best is to optionally use a scroll of avenging storm and then unload crippling/arerial strikes and FoD from the aoe hand mortars. Bonus points if a wizard puts combusting wounds on the group.
  11. For single target "sniper" old fashioned gunner/sniper a helwalker/ghostheart with The Red Hand is very nice. Yeah if you want to be an aoe nuker you go the streetfighter blunderbuss or the rod route but I think spellcasters make for better aoe nukers.
  12. But guys, didn't you read the guide? It's the worst armor in the game! You're not supposed to use armor for armor or deflection, and tanks never need to leave engagement. Even though Nomad's provides all of that at once. You could be stacking action speed and sucking down healing potions like a real pro! Yeah, I kid. It's the only heavy armor I use regularly. chugging pots while ignoring deeps...I like it!
  13. na if you really want to do this get a paladin/priest of wael for monster deflection stacking. max his history give him that cloak and all the bear's fortitude etc talents and 2x ring of minor protection. all of that will stack.he can do stuff like cast circle of protection while the cipher readies mindweb. that will be enough to have one toon with super defensive stats and the rest don't matter. sure you won't achieve the maximum possible fortitude etc defenses but really it should all be around 180 deflection/150+ in each of the other defenses. it's really enough for all practical purposes and more efficient as the other party members can be glass cannons if you use mindweb.
  14. that party would make the game pretty boring on potd upscaled. on potd try it with deadly deadfire mod on nexus (hardcore version) like I do if you play with a custom party. unbroken/trickster or some paladin/trickster is the strongest offensive utility tank in the game off tank yeah streetfighter/devoted or some form of berserker/priest or monk/priest is the strongest off tank dps paladin/streetfighter is good too yeah your healer combo of druid (lifegiver)/troubadour chanter is the strongest healer in the game dps evoker at high levels is so broken it is not even funny berserker/soulblade is a lot of fun both your dps except the paladin/rogue are heavy aoe specs but a bit slower on single target damage but evoker is so op it does not matter. the only thing missing is single taget lots of hp boss damage but paladin/rogue is good for that too, just does not reach the high accuracy of ranger/x or speed and efficiency of marauder
  15. That's a dragon that had its energy siphoned off for a very long time but yes. Now try that in the dlc.
  16. Livegiver is the best healer in the game bar none cipher is crowd control and some damage Oracle would be a nice support character that makes everyone around stronger and healthy while locking down enemies with mind spells (consider beguiler for cipher). Overall more a jedi sage/counselor character than a knight though.
  17. Beguiler/Wael (Priest) might work but at high levels you want to summon you minor avatar to use the cipher spells on but hitting high levels might be okish if you avoid fighting early and sink ships with cannons. you definitely need to "steel" and sell as much as possible early game to get a dhow at least.
  18. Yeah the +20%/+40% damage increases applying to EVERYTHING and even when the weapon is not equipped should be looked at. Also double tap and knockback is strong but that is less of an issue than the weird damage stacking which is very easily exploited. It should probably as a double-barreled "shotgun" do less damage per its two shots than a real arquebus but maybe do the best of pierce/crush damage?
  19. But svef makes you immune to int afflictions. So it should not even trigger. That's not true svef makes you resistant to afflictions and the fampyrs in the gave dominate so you are still charmed. Modwyr should work however as well as Captain's Banquet.
  20. Thank you for your interest. You are correct svef is the easiest way to get around confusion on this build and you can also set ai on a priest in the party to cast suppress affliction on someone confused. That being said before you get Frostfall you can wield Modwyr in one of your weapon slots and switch to it after hitting Frenzy and it will also cleanse confusion. You don't actually have to use modwyr (that is why I recommend it in the slot with Kitchen Stove instead of Frostfall) just have it equipped or switch to it when you go into Frenzy at the start of the fight and it will clear it. Another option is the Devil of C armor+a pet that reduces armor recovery but I think that may look funny for rp reasons. And finally, there is food like captain's banquet that blocks confusion all together and is not a bad food of choice for a spellcaster either-and something that towards that is easier to craft once you have access to Dunnage and Sayuka (ingredients can be found at vendors there). I would say at the early stages of the game confusion is not a problem until you get stuff like Kitchen Stove and have enough focus to use silent stream and later spells but there will come a point where aoe spell damage will disrupt/cleave friendly party members too much.
  21. I now changed overall weapon proficiency to two-handed style and attack weapon of choice to Aamina's Legacy (with modal on as long as you have 60%+ to hit chance). In a future patch if the Red Hand does not boost all weapons and abilities even when not equipped that might change but for now the bow outperformed everything else or was basically even with The Red Hand - the reason is for the Red Hand you have to wear Sharpshooter's Garb for it to attack fast enough to keep up with the bow, and if you wear that armor you miss out on Harbinger's Robes which give you 0 recovery overall and +10% to damage on everything. Anyways having played gun users for a while I forgot a bit how good that bow is and tested it anew again. Modal on the Hunting bow can generally be used reliably during lion's sprint (+15 accuracy) or better yet borrowed instinct (+20 accuracy) which lasts a good 30+sec. For aesthetics, the Essence Interrupter is a more witchy weapon though and will get the job done although enchanted Aamina's Legacy is probably 10-15% better in the damage it can put out.
  22. Yeah the problem as cited is that those level 8-9 abilities are not created equal among classes. Wizard lvl 8 but especially lvl 9 abilities are godtier quality Monk, barbarian, priest lvl8-9 abilities are strong Druid is "serviceable" until you see what a single class priest or omg a single class wizard can do Rogue while not great is again serviceable at those levels Chanter, Paladin, Fighter and Chanter are weak at lvl8-9 abilities especially the "active" abilities not the passives.
  23. turn to the darkside! be a sith! https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/104892-build-witch-the-banshee-build-very-high-damage-berserkerascendant-rdps-caster/
