Can someone explain me how this two interact with each other? If one enemy uses Dampener on my group, does SA surpress Dampener effect and my Inspirations are restored? or they are or nullified until i use them again? Or does Arcane Damp persist on the area used even if SA is used? This is really confusing. Does anyone know?

Deadfire vs Tyranny
eschu101 replied to rone's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
i just think it's a tad... tilted to judge the evil/good of a military or a military doctrine using modern measurements when these actions take place in an iron age world. things change, values change. etc. I can see where you're coming from, but the Scarlet Chorus was written with these things with the *intention* that they'd be judged as evil. The Disfavored and the Scarlet Chorus are designed to be the two faces of evil; cold, calculating, pragmatic evil vs wild, chaotic, uninhibited evil. Both also have good sides to them; the Disfavored are disciplined, honorable, and respect the law while the Scarlet Chorus is egalitarian, values freedom, and considers individual achievement to be the best measure of leadership. The choice your supposed to have is "What values are more important to me? What moral compromises will I make for those values?" I'm agree with that, Disfavored is Loyal Evil and Scarlet Chorus is Chaotic Evil. In a way Disfavored is fascism and Scarlet Chorus is bolchevism-leninism. However you're wrong about Waffen-SS, non-german Division are real division like the Viking Division (Scandinavians), Wallonie Division (Belgium) and Charlemagne Division (French). Because leninism is evil, obviously! Hahaha, damn liberals. Tyranny isnt about "in a world where evil won". Its about the foundation of a state, the uprising of a great power. This is happening everyday since always. The slogan for the game is "Sometimes, evil wins." The developers statement of intent is "a game that challenges players to find their place in an original fantasy realm where evil has conquered the known world.” Like, this isn't difficult, you know? Thats called advertising. It doesnt include the nuances of storytelling and worldbuilding. Anyway, you still could call that "evil won" in the game just because people do bad ****. And i'm not saying that they are not evil, because evil is exactly the subject of debate. -

Patch 1.1.0 Updates Thread
eschu101 replied to David Benefield's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
Does the fix for POTD work on games already started? -
I was reading this guide and started wondering how important intellect reallt is for wiz, even a vanilla one. Too much int also makes hard to place a good fireball or another AoE without hitting teammates during the fight, and wizards hit damn hard. It could be important to cheese fireballs while stealthing before the fight, but that takes all the fun away. 10/12 int should be more than enough, dump resolve, max might/per/dex and you get a few points in con.

Yes, at first i didnt consider to do so, but as soon i got to Neketaka i started feeling the game was getting easier, and then too easy (POTD, lvl7), and then they announced 1.1 so i'll be waiting. Maybe i'll start a few runs with different classes to try out and just play until Deadlight fort. Not sure if i will start a new game once 1.1 is ready or start a brand new game. Early june, probably in 2 weeks

Update #48 - What's Next?
eschu101 replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
Great news, thank you! Do we get any details on the balance changes before the 1.1 release? I'll be waiting to continue my game. -
MC is vanilla wiz and aloth is battlemage. Both are very good and really fun. I really enjoy wizard in POE2, definitly my fav class. The grimoire system could definitly use some tweaks and more diverse unique effects, but if you choose one (like ninagauth or vaporous) and pick your skills around it is really nice.

When is this patch that Josh talked about coming? I think i'm very early in the game, just arrived at neketaka and met maia and the other companions there. IThe game is still balanced so far (POTD), honestly i had a few very rough fights, but i'm afraid it starts getting easier and easier now. Does it take too long to get unbalanced and too easy?

Patch 1.0.2 Fixes
eschu101 replied to SChin's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
I hope they give us a sneak peek in whats about to change, i'm playing on potd because veteran is too easy, but i'm concerned i wont be good enough for potd once they change it...i'm very early in to the game, just arrived at neketaka and its really ok in terms of difficulty so far. -
I'm playing a vanilla wizard and i'm really liking it. Initial levels were really hard (potd), especially with 2 wizard on group (my pc vanilla and battlemage alloth) but now i'm level 6 and i really find it enjoying. My PC is very frail (8con/3res) but the damage tops everyone in the group by far, even serafen. Chill fog and Fireball do all the work.

just arrived at neketaka, im playing aloth as battlemage and works really fine so far...really fragile early but when starts getting really tanky whenl you are able to use infuse vital + arcane + spiti shield + displaced image eder is swashbuckler, pc min-max pure wizard, serafen and xoti...ill replace serafen with maia when i finder her, i think

I've just noticed that justin bell himself is replying here. Cant miss the opportunity to say how much i love tyranny's soundtrack, one of most memorable i've ever listened. Its been more than a year that i finished the game and i still listen it at least once or twice per week. Really hope for a sequel.
