  1. Couple of screens I took from last night....
  2. If you get a chance you should check out WvW. It can be accessed from pretty much anywhere and it bumps you up to lvl 80.
  3. I think you're confusing home instances with this? Though I remembered something along these lines too a few months back, but now it's "just" different NPCs spawning depending on your choices. *sigh* I want a house. With an armor stand for every collectable set. :< Nah not confusing it with the 'home instances'. They specifically said players would have their own houses that you could decorate and stuff. Maybe they scrapped the idea or it will be added after release.
  4. I also thought I read something in early development(couple of years ago) that there was going to be player housing. I don't see this in the game and haven't been able to find anything on it. Did they do away with this idea?
  5. You mean 'generic' looking for sure? I transfered to Eternal Grove, so I might meet up with Oner after all! Also finished the personal story - human noble - available in the beta, and it's as unspectacular as expected. But the game is undeniably fun still! (Frame rates still suck though...) I don't think they're finished optimizing the game yet so the frames will improve. I only noticed a dip in frames when I was in a big city lke Divinity's Reach or doing WvW.
  6. Just got to experience some World vs. World and it was AWESOME! Brought me back to the good 'ol days of doing RvR in Dark Age of Camelot.
  7. I let my subscription run out after my free month. I may or may not comeback depending on what content they add and what class changes are made.....oh and it will largely depend on how much I enjoy Guild Wars 2. I felt a couple play throughs in TOR were enough for me. Loved the stories of the classes I played but the game overall never really felt like an MMO to me. PvP got super boring. Got my Operative up to lvl 82 Valor but it was all about doing warzones over and over and over and over again. World PvP sucked balls. They could have done so much more with Illum and they could still in the future but this is what they had the guys at Mythic come up with? Another thing that is killing the game is the number of servers. I think they have over 200 with an average of 350 people online p/server. I imagine there's a good chunk...well over 100 of those servers...that are "light" all the time. Ques for Warzones must take forever and I'm sure that's frustrating players into quitting. Oh well, I'll spend the next couple of months working to unlock Guild Wars 2 rewards in the first Guild Wars game.
  8. You might want to read up on a few reviews of it so far...... Yeah I read the Gamespot review and they gave it 7/10. I wasn't expecting GOTY but from all the reviews I've read it has a really good story and that's what I play RPG's for.
  9. Diablo III is consuming most of my free time and I'm also playing Class of Heroes(PSP) when I'm on the go. Game of Thrones looks interesting. May try that when I finish up D3.
  10. My thief from Guild Wars 2 beta weekend.
  11. Really enjoying the beta so far. Love the combat and animations of the Thief. Haven't played any of the other classes yet. Graphically the game is beautiful. I love the style of the game. Lord of the Rings was the best looking MMO I played until now. My only complaint would be FPS issues in certain areas mainly the events which remind me alot of public quests in Warhammer. There was just so many people doing it at the same time that it almost became unplayable and I have a pretty decent computer. It's beta though so I'm sure Arenanet will get this fixed before the game launches. Those events need to be instanced so there's a cap as to how many players can be in one area at one time. Haven't messed with crafting yet and I need to because its a big deal for me. Overall, though, I love the game and definitely going to be playing this at launch.....and no monthly fee to boot!
  12. I'm on Vrook Lamar which is a west coast rp server. It's a fairly populated server....normally on "standard" most of the time and gets "heavy" during the early evening. Has a good community of players...at least on the Imperial side but thats the reason why I chose an RP server to begin with. http://www.torstatus.net/shards/us/stats
  13. Nice thread title. I wish it was Baldur's Gate III but I'm curious to see what all they do with this enahnced edition. If I feel they've done enough to improve on the original, I'll buy it. Haven't played BG2 in about 5 years so it would be fun going back and playing through it again.
  14. Still playing and still having fun with my Operative. Slowly trying to get my valor up to 65(at 52 now). Also started playing an Assassin just to see what the differences were between the two stealth classes....other than one has a gun and the other a lightsaber. Definitely looking forward to 1.2 but I really wish they would put in the cross servers que for Warzones. My server is on "Light" all the time and ques for warzones take 15-20min. I think they also need to look into consolidating servers....123 is too many.
  15. Then get a older PS3 that has backwards compatibility. I have the 60gb model and most of the PS1/PS2 games don't look to great in HD. The PS3 does not do a very good job of upscaling the old games. They do however look really good on your PC. =P
  16. Just reached 41 on my Operative and having a blast! I was a little hesitant after the first 10 or so levels...the game just wasn't pulling me in and I contemplated not re-subbing after the first free month. I think what really turned it on for me was finding the right class and getting my ship. I tried a Bounty Hunter, Inquisitor and Imperial Agent. The Operative reminds me alot of my Rogue in WoW but with alot more utility. The class is super fun to play and I really love the storyline. Back when the game was still in development and they revealed that space combat would be on rails.....I laughed. I thought what a joke it was going to be. Wow, was I wrong. I love doing the space missions and thats the first thing I do when I jump into game. The only complaint I have about the game is how easy it is to level up. Its so easy to outlevel content if you do space missions, warzones, and flash points. I've had to skip over 3 planets so far(aside from doing the class quests). I guess the next toon I level up I'll just avoid everything else but questing.
  17. Currently juggling my time between Skyrim and Old Republic and thoroughly enjoying both games. I've easily got over hundred hours in Skyrim and haven't touched the main quest since going to High Hrothgar. Would like to play Kingdoms of Amalur and Final Fantasy XIII-2 but there's just no time.
  18. Finally got a product key from Customer Service. Only took them a little more than a week to get back to me. Thanks for the advice Hurlshot -- I got a hold of Stephen Reid(Rockjaw) who helped get things moving. So now I have alot of catch up to do. My Bounty Hunter was lvl 14 when early access ended and my friends are approaching lvl 40.
  19. Depends on what you like? Do you like to PvP all the time or only when you feel like it? Then there's the Role-Play servers if you're into that sorta thing. If you don't care about any of that stuff then I would pick one of the lower populated servers in your time zone, unless you like to wait in ques.
  20. When I was in beta you could hit the ESC key during the conversation and it would reset it back to the beginning. This way if you make a mistake and accidentally choose dark side option instead of light, you can reset it.
  21. So I get my CE on Wednesday from the EA Origin store and can't find the product key anywhere in the box. My friend tells me it's inside the metal game case and only thing in there with a number is some $30 off coupon code. So I contact support and they want me to provide them proof in terms of a scanned copy of a receipt and a photo of my game. I email this stuff to them Wednesday night and here it is Saturday and I still haven't heard back and I'm guessing I won't until sometime next week. Pretty ****ty if you ask me....paid $150 and can't even play the game. I know they're busy and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue but still. I've got friends who are already in their lvl 20's.....gonna have alot of catching up to do.
  22. Did three of the beta weekends, including this last one, and had a good time with the game. Only played each class to level 10 because I didn't want to invest too much time into a character that was going to be deleted anyways and I didn't want the experience ruined once the game goes live. I've been going back and forth on whether or not I want to start Republic or Sith. It's a tough call. I'm all for being one of the "good guys" and want to go the Jedi or Smuggler route but I really enjoyed my time playing the Sith Inquisitor and Bounty Hunter. The story line for both of those classes was much more enjoyable than any Republic class I played. I may have to flip a coin lol.
  23. I loved the Dark Alliance and Champions games so I definitely want to get this at some point. The reviews have kinda put me off, though, so I may wait for it to come down in price. From what I've read its best played in co-op mode instead of single-player.
  24. I'm in beta and enjoying my time with it. Will I be playing this at launch? Yes, in fact I've already cancelled my WoW and Lord of the Rings accounts. Don't see how that is violating the NDA unless I go into specifics, which I'm not going to do. I'm pretty close to cancelling LotRO. I already cancelled Rift. I know I'm going to get way into TOR when it finally comes out and I doubt it is going to be a short term appeal. Of the two, LotRO was probably the hardest for me to cancel. I enjoyed my time with that game much more than I did with WoW. Only reason I stuck with WoW as long as I did was because all my friends were playing it. Also, I pre-ordered Isengard a couple months back because I had no intentions of playing Old Republic....now I wish I hadn't. I've got to beta Isengard and there's going to be alot of disappointed players when this gets released later this month. That's all I'll say lol.
