  1. I'm on Windfola. -EDIT- Hurlshot, how did you get your character info in your signature?
  2. Lord of the Rings Online - Almost 60 on my Rune Keeper...pretty excited. Now I can work on getting my radiance gear. Mass Effect - Enjoying the game, just not playing it that much thanks to Lotro.
  3. That very well may be but if the CE has content that's worth the extra $20, I'm going to pick it up.
  4. Bonus in game content = SOLD I'll be picking up the CE.
  5. I've played MMO's since about 1998 when Asheron's Call came out. I'm no where near hard core like some people are...the most I put in is about an hour or two a night. For me, MMO's are a great way to do stuff with friends who I normally don't see on a regular basis. A few of my friends live out of state and we all enjoy gaming, so MMO's provide us a place where we can get together and do something we all enjoy. If they weren't gamers, would I still be playing MMO's? Probably not. I'm more of a single player gamer because I like the freedom of being able to save and quit when I want to or even pause the game. You really don't have those same freedoms in an MMO...its almost like other people depend on you getting online and sometimes I don't like that.
  6. Wow, you are like a clone of me. Or am I a clone of you Its funny because I've seen posts from you over the last 4+ years and we usually like the same games. Just enjoy the same type of games, I guess. This is my 2nd time back in LotRO and I think I'm here to stay unless another MMO comes along or I get bored with it. I'm actually playing on the server you're on. A friend of mine and his co-workers play there so I made the move from Brandywine. Currently I'm juggling time between 4 different classes: Hunter, Rune Keeper, Burglar and Champion. I really enjoy all of them and can't decide which one to focus on -- they're all in their 20's lol. I must say though, the Runekeeper is a blast to play....don't really like the whole attunement thing because you can't dps and heal at the same time, but they're a pretty powerful class so I can see why they did it that way. As for the Show '09, I've just been playing Road to the Show mode. Made a pitcher and he's currently 13-1 with a 2.15 ERA at AA and I haven't been moved up yet. Starting to piss me off!
  7. Playing Lord of the Rings Online and MLB The Show '09 -- Only games I need.
  8. I detest hitting the level cap, so I'm trying to milk the last couple levels for a few months. They did release that new content area that I want to explore, but I'm on a bit of a break. With the low $10 monthly fee, I don't find myself trying to justify the subscription if I take a couple months off. In MMO news, I'm actually playing Vanguard and enjoying the diplomacy and crafting aspects. I did the trial for Vanguard and couldn't get into it. Glad to be back in Lotro!
  9. Are you still playing Lotro? Looks like you've been 58 for a while. I just went back and moved from Brandywine to Windfola to hook up with a couple of friends.
  10. Same here. I'm loving this game! Probably the best baseball gaming experience I've had since MVP '05. Currently I'm playing the "Road to the Show" mode and trying to work my way up as a starting pitcher. So far I'm 9-1 w/ a 1.59 ERA at AA -- should be moving up to AAA soon! This is where the majority of my time has been spent but I want to check out Franchise mode as well. Also, I've finally broken free of WoW and canceled my account. Now I'm back in Lord of the Rings Online and while the game lacks some solid PvP, it has the best PvE of any MMO on the market.
  11. U2 - Magnificent Actually listening to their new album, No Line On The Horizon, and it's their best work since Achtung Baby.
  12. Oh man, I loved the Might & Magic series. Back when the 3DO forums were still around I posted there all the time. When they were developing Might & Magic VII, one of the devs posted there and picked several names people submitted to use as NPC's and mine(Brahein Kadarr) was one of them. Still have the game and my original save game files on CD....so here's a screenie:
  13. It's not a totally kick ass machine like Bok's but it works just fine for running WoW. 14. Can someone please tell me what are the best settings for controlling your party(i.e. camera/controls). Or just tell me which settings you prefer.
  15. If only LotRO had a better PvP system in place, it would be the perfect MMO. I haven't touched PvP at all, although I did create a warg and run around for about an hour one time. I'm glad Turbine has focused on the single player aspect. It's difficult to pull off both, and I think developers need to choose one over the other. I thought WoW really shifted too much attention to raids and PvP and that's why I eventually stopped playing. Warhammer Online is my PvP game of choice. It's designed around it and it shows. I recommend it if that's what you want. Played Warhammer in beta and at release for the free month. PvP is good but everything else about the game sucks. Crafting sucks. PvE sucks. I want to play an MMO that has a nice combination of all 3 and right now WoW is the only MMO out there that has it. LotRO Monster play is a joke. Tried to get into it but couldn't. I love the PvE and Crafting system though....it's the best of any MMO I've played and the game looks beautiful. If they had gotten the PvP right it would have been the perfect MMO, in my opinion.
  16. If only LotRO had a better PvP system in place, it would be the perfect MMO.
  17. Ugh, I got sucked back into WoW.... WoW: WotLK(PC) NWN2: SoZ(PC) Heroes of Might & Magic III(PC) Star Ocean: FD(PSP)
  18. I actually find myself preferring to play MMO's over single player games these days. I've got a stack of single player games, like The Witcher, Oblivion, Lost Odyssey, FFXII, NWN2, etc., that I haven't got around to playing/finishing because I've been spending my time playing games like WoW, LotRO and Warhammer Online. And it's not that single player games are bad but I just prefer to play a game online with RL friends who I don't get to see everyday. I have a couple of life long friends that I haven't seen in a couple of years but I get to play online with them practically every night and I couldn't do that with single player games. But if I didn't have friends playing online games then I would probably be spending all my time with single player games.
  19. I too am enjoying my time in Warhammer. Currently playing a on the Order side, as they seem to be the "underdog" and least populated realm. Right now I'm alternating between the Shadow Warrior and the Warrior Priest. Shadow Warriors are not extremely powerful but I love playing range DPS classes and this class hasn't disappointed me yet. I love being able to knock back tanks 100 feet in the air and their Whirling Pin ability(AE root) has saved my ass several times as well as provided me with some "OMG" moments. The Warrior Priest is a hybrid healer/fighter and is a tough little bastard. It reminds me of the Friar in Dark Age of Camelot, which was my favorite class to play. I really only have a couple of problems with War so far and that is server pop. balance and longevity. Right now, mostly all servers are Destruction dominated which doesn't make things too much fun for those of us that are playing Order. Plus, Mythic axed Order's "cool" looking tank and left us with an Elven tank that wears a dress and a Dwarf tank which is a short bearded dude wearing a dress. Not that I have problems playing a Dwarf or Elf but a majority of the gamers out there do, so they'll go play Destruction so they can play the "cool" looking Chosen tank. Mythic seriously needs to give Order back the Knights of the Blazing Sun class and they need to do it ASAP. How long will I play War? Not sure. I played WoW for 4 years but do I see myself playing War that long? No, not right now anyways. Aside from RvR the game has nothing else to offer. There aren't that many PvE dungeons and the few that they have are small. Crafting is an absolute joke which hurts me more than anything considering, in DAoC, crafting was a huge part of the player economy. Player housing was also a great feature of DAoC, not just for storage vaults and ports but you could also find certain trophies in the game world to decorate your pad with. Maybe Mythic will add/improve these things later but as it stands right now I'll probably play War for several months before I get bored and go back to WoW or LotRO.
  20. Yep, tomorrow open beta starts. Gotta figure out what I want to play when it comes out for real. Right now I'm leaning towards playing a Shadow Warrior on Order. I'm more of ranged class type of guy. Bright Wizards are fun too.....it's a tough call. My only problem with rolling on the Order side is going to be the lack of Order tanks. Since they axed the Knights of the Blazing Sun class people are left with either playing a Dwarf or Elf tank and alot of people on the forums were bitching how they didn't want to play a Dwarf or play an Elf wearing a dress. This could be a serious problem for Order because there was considerably more Destruction tanks out in the RvR zone and Order was getting their ass handed to them constantly.
  21. 1. Lord of the Rings Online - Best PvE of any MMO out there, amazing graphics and a solid crafting system. 2. World of Warcraft - PvE is fun but I never did the raiding part of it. The game is very much gear centric and I don't really like that. 3. Dark Age of Camelot - Best PvP of any MMO ever made...EVER. PvE and Crafting were a grinding bore but it's all about RvR, baby! 4. Asheron's Call - First MMO I ever played and what got me into the genre. It was a new way to hang out with RL friends who didn't live in the same town. 5. City of Heroes - Best character creation of any MMO. You get to be a super hero! Not much depth to the game and the fun wore off after a couple of months. Warhammer is most likely going to be in my top 5 after I play it a little more.
  22. What are your impressions? I played in the beta about a year ago and wasn't impressed, but it sound slike it has progressed well. I'm planning on pre-ordering it tomorrow. Well, I just got into closed beta about a week ago and from what I understand they had a major change to the combat system. You probably would notice the difference if you played before the change because from what I've gathered it was slow and not very responsive. It definitely feels more on pace with WoW's combat system but I do not like the 1.5sec global cooldown and I wish you could que up an ability. Mark Jacobs has already said they're still making tweaks to combat but alot of people are pleased with the changes so far. The game feels alot like Dark Age to me which is a good thing.....and I'm talking about RvR. I was able to jump into my tier 1 RvR zone at rank 2 and level my way up to 10 which was really cool. You could also level up in PvE if you wanted to, it's your choice. The open RvR zones felt like a DAoC battleground...fighting everywhere, each side pushing the other back and forth....it was awesome. My only complaint would be the lack of tanks for Order. It seems Mythic decided to cut out the Empire's tank which I think was a HUGE mistake. 90% of Order's pop were ranged DPS classes. Meanwhile, Destruction had lots of tanks and healers so they pretty much kicked ass. People don't want to roll a Dwarf and I'm sure this gonna be an issue at launch. The Ironbreaker is a hell of a fun class to play, just wish there were more of them. Also did some Scenarios which are like WoW's battle grounds which is a nice alternative when things are going bad out in the open RvR zone plus its a nice way to rake in the renown points. Public quests are really cool and I love how you can just jump in and do them...you don't have to wait to form a group, you just show up and participate with other people already there. Great idea by Mythic. Graphically the game looks and feels like WoW which doesn't bother me. It seems the beta client is using low-res textures and there aren't any options for changing the graphics, so I'm interested to see how the game looks when it goes live. UI is also very similar to WoW's which is fine and it allows for customization and add-ons. Crafting is a disappointment for me --- only 2 professions? It was a big part of Dark Age of Camelot and thought for sure it would be for Warhammer as well. I understand they want people to RvR and spend less time doing other stuff but sometimes you don't want to RvR and do something else and this game doesn't offer that. I've got the collector's edition pre-ordered and I plan to play at launch. RvR is alot of fun and I'm interested in leveling up higher to do some keep takes and use siege weapons. Don't know how long I'll be playing though, aside from RvR there's nothing there to keep you playing. The world isn't that big, crafting is very limited and no player housing. These were things that they did well in DAoC and for some reason they didn't take those aspects and bring them to Warhammer. Maybe they'll add them in later, who knows. I'm also a little sad that my time with LotRO will be coming to an end soon. I don't have time to play 2 MMO's plus my RL friends I play with are leaving for Warhammer and this is the reason I play MMO's.
  23. Warhammer Online and having a blast!
