All right, fine, something recent then. F.E.A.R comes to mind as a great shooter with perfect atmosphere. It played right out of the box, no problem. Call of Duty 2 is also up there as an A list shooter, Indigo Prophecy is a great adventure game, Guild Wars is an MMORPG-player-who-likes-to-solo's dream, World of Warcraft is for the MMO nerd in all of us, Halo (which was a computer game prior to being brought out by M$ for it's box), Far Cry, KotOR (#1, #2 is open to debate)...Just to name a few. Bloodlines isn't a good example, and you know it. It's an amazingly buggy title made by a development team virtually brimming with insect life...but the numerous madagascar roaches aside, it's still a damned good game.

1. Partially in agreement...but quality over quantity, Baldur's Gate being a good example. Can't play THAT on a 360. 2. All my games play "straight out of the box" I've never had a problem in that area, and bugs aren't really that apparent. A good deal of them only seem to occur at odd points in the game, or if you do something stupid the devs didn't exactly expect.

I haven't played a truly "Bad" game in a long, long time. Every title I've picked up has had it's merits (neat features, great game play, enthralling story-line, well written dialogue, masterful music, realistic ambience, pretty graphics, exciting plot twists, excellent voice overs, etc.) as well as its flaws (bugs, bugs, more bugs, dissapointing endings, crappy game play, writing similar to that of dyslexic ape on crystal meth, poor support, bad developer decisions, etc.), yet none I've seen have warranted a score, from me, below a 6/10. I may just be generous, but I haven't stumbled onto a truly awful game that didn't get a truly awful review.

Agreed but I pay particular attention to writing styles. I 'map' personalities. That's actually part of the reason I started the thread on temperment types. It provides a little fun for you guys but also gives me some insight about the members here that I don't know. That is another reason why I know that the two are not the same person. I've mentioned that I've caught mods doing it even. A writing style is hard to mask over the long term and similarities show up. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Am I the only one who finds that a tad bit on the peculiar side?

Just pointing it out again, Commy. I was introduced to FPS titles at a young age too...well, that being a relative term, and I turned out...decently. Only thing I was saying was that his son could handle the killing things, but not the dirty words. That's....sad.
