Metro RPG mmm… Think about it. Nope, new IP. Leave Metro for them Russians.
-
It means Justin Bell is staying at Obsidian. He posted on an another thread saying so.
-
Plot twist! Justin Bell didn't leave after all, according to Avellone.
-
Akari?
-
No. It's a completely new IP that Obsidian has developed.
-
Yes, they are privately owned. Hostile takeover in this case would mean the Bethesda approach on getting studios. Bleed them dry by withholding payments and then make a lowball offer to "save the company". Not very like in this scenario though, unless Private Division suddenly swoops in and buys the company with very cheap offer

I could have done my previous job in 4 hours. Still had to sit there for 8 hours a day, doing nothing. Really rewarding. Even going down to 7 hours a day or 4x 10 hours would be more beneficial for the workers. With travel those 8 hours days are easily 10 hour days or even more in some cases.

Microsoft would probably have one of the biggest reasons to keep them alive with Xbox and Windows Store. Surely people at MS have looked at Sony's quite succesful model of handling studios that they own. Someone like EA would buy them to get rid of competition, gain the IPs and then slowly/quite fast turn them into a BioWare2 that doesn't really make crpgs anymore, until the eventual closing of the studio. Private Division / Take Two might be a good owner as well. Look how Firaxis is still making the same games they used to before being bought. Sure, their business model has been tweaked to supply DLC's but that's the cost of doing business these days.

Rebuild? They are already making AAA open world game.
-
Maybe one of the reasons some of the older Obsidianites are leaving right now? Losing Anthony Davis and Rich Taylor in span of few weeks to Blizzard stings. Unless Blizzard has some dream game of theirs that they are hiring for.
-
Now is the perfect time to poach talent from Carbine Studios! How many MMOs are even still going? That were started years ago?
-
You did notice the seperate page they built for such messages? The last message I read from there mentioned that pretty much every package has been sent forward from Ship Naked and if you haven't received your shipment info you should contact Ship Naked by email and they will send re-send you the tracking information.
-
It took few days for Ship Naked to answer my query at least and Dan H has said here that they are swamped with open tickets and will get to them as soon as possible. It took like 10-14 days to ship it from Germany (?) to Finland. They shipped other package on 12th and other on 17th (yet they both came in one same package?). I think my account still says shipping soon, even though I have my collector's edition right next FNV collector's edition

Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire
Flouride replied to no1fanboy's topic in Computer and Console
I think they changed their strategy from working on established IPs to working on their own IPs. That way when they end up selling their company, it's worth more than it would be by working on others licenses. -
Rage - Not feeling it. It just feels like a bad shooter that is trying to be an open world game at the same time and it just fails. I think I'm halway through though, playing it one mission a day and I'll be able to finish it someday. Close Combat 2 - I love the **** out of this game still. I was watching Band of Brothers and I just had to get this from GOG. I can't even remeber the hours I put into this game in -98 (or when ever it came out). Still having a blast, though I would be really glad if the game gave even some intel on what to expect. I really really hate it when tanks suddenly appear and I have no AT crews. Also zooming in on the map in debriefing mode would be nice feature as well, so you could check the actual map properly before making any decisions.

No just likely, they were bumped. On GOG the Obsidian Edition, Deadfire and Beast of Winter DLC all sold really well during the sale. I would say they sold tens of thousand units during that week on both GOG and Steam combined. Overall the sales are at least 300k now when you count both GOG and Steam. Some kinda bump is to be expected when the next DLC hits stores and a final bump for the year when 3rd one comes out. It is not an instant success story like D:OS2, but it's something that will keep making profit for Obsidian for years.

Very much true. But Tyranny is a way different than anything they've made. Both Shadowrun and BattleTech are tactical turn based games. I don't know if the crpg stuff kicked in later on in Shadowrun (my save got destroyed haven't had the time to start from the beginning), but from what I saw it would be quite a change for them. And with BattleTech selling so well, their focus will be on that game and universe for some time.
-
What MCA says and what actually happened are two different things. In the end if Paradox wants to move on Tyranny franchise (which has sold quite well) they would be really really stupid not to ask Obsidian to do it. Though Obsidian might not be interested in it at the time. They don't own a rpg studio, so they would have to hire outsiders to work on it. Outside of Larian and InXile, who is big enough to tackle that game? And actually capable of delivering a good game that wouldn't kill the whole franchise...

Sooo, I was fighting against some Fampyrs at the Splintered Reef and finally managed to beat them. Now I have number 7 in blood red showing on my UI pretty much middle of the screen. It won't go away even if I load a saved game even those prior to the fight it appeared on my UI. https://aijaa.com/4wFpRr Here's a picture to explain it better. Restarting the game fixes it, but kinda annoying to quit the game for that

Yeah, paradox admitted that they dropped the ball on marketing and release. They also said that they were pleased with Tyranny’s sales, having only been slightly below expectations And then turned around and did the same thing for Battletech. It's because they don't know how to market games that they just can't show being played endlessly on Twitch. Cities Skylines and Stellaris performed very well due to the heavy youtube/twitch marketing.
