  1. I think that's actually a drop-down menu, such that what you type into it isn't actually a selection, even if it's the "same" string of characters as a valid selection. There's nothing visually denoting that as a drop-down menu, as opposed to a simple text-entry field, which is confusing. Same with State. Someone might want to slap a little down-arrow button onto those two bits. Anywhoz... try typing PART of your country name, wait for the list to pop up, then click on your country name to select it from the list. I bet it'll work then. I THINK WE HAVE A WINNER! Thanks a lot.
  2. Do I want more?! The answer is an obvious no, because I'm a contrarian. I kind of need to know the give/take on the choices to be honest. Without stretch goals, do you focus on shipping and polishing what's already planned? With stretch goals might the release get pushed back, but you expect funding to make another leap that wouldn't happen otherwise?
  3. Resurrection is an interesting one. Whedon wrote the script and he the one thing he's always said about it is he's amazed at how they followed so much of what he wrote, but emphasised all of the wrong parts which left it coming across as wildly different to how he wrote it. Something along the lines of "Technically, they followed the script. But in reality, it was completely wrong." I do like a lot of what they did in Resurrection. They showed the Aliens as more capable and intelligent than previous movies. The scene where the Aliens kill one of their own to use its acid blood to create an escape is practically ripped straight from my favorite scene in the comics/novels.
  4. Heh, did you know Michael Biehn refuses to watch Alien 3, because he felt that Hicks deserved a much better death sequence? Something along the lines that for all the effort he put into shaping the character in Aliens, there shouldn't have been some glossed over "panning shot of Hicks with chest exploded" as the end of that character. Didn't know it, but not surprised by it. Cameron also thought 3 was disrespectful to the characters last I heard. The one thing I really don't like about this script is it's all Hicks. Ripley's in a coma then shoved into a lifepod. That's it.
  5. Not really excited by that. Procedural generation itself has never wowed me. The games that use it instead gain my attention for the depth of play that works alongside it.
  6. Shin Megami Tensei IV It's got good atmosphere and style so far. Haven't played much to have any opinion beyond that. I finished Virtue's Last Reward while I was iced in over the weekend. Fantastic game, but there's way too much epilogue and it really killed the pace of the end.
  7. Two of them use Steam for networking. You get rid of Steamworks and they stop functioning. Lots of games are sold outside of Steam. That's a totally different thing.
  8. William Gibson's Alien 3 script Pretty good. Needs more Ripley.
  9. Virtue's Last Reward This is somewhat bizarre. Okay, it's 90% the same tone as the last game, 999, but the final 10% is just wacky enough that I don't know how to feel. So it's a game about people who got kidnapped and are forced to play a game in a complex with puzzles or die. But this time, the guy who's giving instruction is a CGI bunny with a fondness for puns... He's too adorable to take seriously.
  10. Virtue's Last Reward and my power supply should be arriving today. I don't know which to play with first.
  11. Several of them are Steam exclusive. Natural Selection won't even run without Steam, it requires the server browser to function.
  12. Dark Souls' notoriety seems... exaggerated. There's going to be some trial and error, but simply being cautious should get you through half the game. It's not even as hardcore as games like Baldur's Gate II, where you have to have entire spell sets ready for particular fights. There's no needing +3 weapons to damage a particular boss or spell breach.
  13. I lost the main menu editor. I don't know about pigments, I should expect them to be handled the same way.
  14. I beat the game when it originally came out. I'm playing the Dark Arisen re-release now with a new character. It's slow going since I've done all this before and am not ready to hit up Bitterblack Isle yet.
  15. You didn't already have it? Okay, that's it. Show of hands, who does not already own this game? We aren't allowed to be friends.
  16. I finished Night of the Rabbit. I was afraid it was going to turn into Whispered World for a moment there, but they did well in the end. Onto I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.
  17. And I've chosen http://www.amazon.com/SeaSonic-550-Watt-CrossFire-Certified-SSR-550RM/dp/B00918MEZG Thanks for everything.
  18. Thanks for everything. I'll check that link out when I get home and can look at what components I have.
  19. There's a massive distinction between a character with no history and a character with no relevant history. If it's not relevant, it doesn't need to be brought up. If it's relevant, it can happen during the course of the game, not before.
  20. Then don't kill his family until after I control him. If it happened before I controlled the character, then I have no investment in it.
  21. I prefer RPGs to look forward, not back. My PC's history prior to the time I played as it has no value to me. Only the things I choose with the character now matter. I have played and enjoyed enough games that were designed to the contrary that I'm not going to be upset about it. But if I'm given the opportunity to be picky, that's what I pick.
  22. Not committing to any game really. I play some Night of the Rabbit until my power supply gets noisy. Then I might play some Tales of Xillia. Mostly just waiting for my copy of Virtue's Last Reward to arrive.
  23. Was really hoping not to spend that much on a power supply. But I do need to start preparing for my next build. Guess I should count my connectors as well, just to be safe.
