  1. There are no other RPG developers. Bethesda is making action RPGs. Bioware is making action RPGs. Their last RPG was 4 years ago with all of their current/recent projects being action RPGs (Jade Empire, Mass Effect), however I don't know what Dragon Age is. There most recent foray was Jade Empire, which could be passed off as an RPG if it hadn't been publicized and billed as an action RPG. Anyway, it's not as good as Neverwinter Nights 2 or KOTOR 2.
  2. So, I decided to rename one of my characters. Oh dear god, the workload!
  3. I'm back to playing with the NWN2 toolset. After trying a couple popular modules on the vault, I came away extremely annoyed and I'm not satisfied being a passive whiner.
  4. 1) The problem with it in SWG wasn't because of the lack of lore. That was an excuse. It's easy to overlook that kind of thing as a player, in all honesty. Suspension of disbelief and it happens everytime someone runs a game instance and things respawn. The problem, amongst others, was simply that there were a lot of Jedi and it overshadowed anything else in the game. 2) Even in the KOTOR time period there aren't thousands of Jedi. There are only ever really a relative handful, maybe around a couple hundred at most. This is kind of silly. KOTOR is relatively unexplored only when compared to the movie time period. An original point in time would actually provide this a lot better because the developer could choose what parts of Star Wars to take without being constrained to the sillier interpretations of the KOTOR games.
  5. A fan of Arx Fatalis? Sorry to diverge from the topic of conversation, but how well did you like it? It's recently been added to Steam and I've considered purchasing it.
  6. That's what I'm saying!

I have to disagree with this in a few ways. I'm not a big Halo fan, but let's be sensible. Number of guns has never been indicative of how good or complex the game is. I find most guns in FPS to either be useless or redundant. All large numbers of guns do, for me, is cause me to juggle my guns around trying to find some sort of optimal ammo conservation. Which is really distracting from the gameplay. The enemy AI is about par for what we still see. They have simple squad behavior and use of cover, which is pretty much standard nowadays. Only thing they lack really is flanking.
  8. Pundits and players.
  9. Good thing this is only a rumor. If it were true, I'd likely go mad. KOTOR is a silly franchise to make an MMO out of. A number of people are probably still bitter about SWG which may impact this Star Wars MMO unless it's the most brilliant thing on the market. Even ignoring that bit of my personal speculation, I still think KOTOR is pretty silly. It's like a Star Wars ripoff, with kolto (instead of bacta), a Yoda wannabe, and "Mandalorians" that wear armor that looks like a Gorilla in a giant condom (Obsidian's Mandalore design was just right, however), but then you realize it's actually licensed and they didn't need all this nonsensical brand sidestepping. A Star Wars MMO would be better served using a new franchise. But, they'd probably be hoping the name sells it. Still, it's only a rumor and I won't believe it until it's official.
  10. define 'western' please Of the West. so west of Haiti? Or West of the Moon? The moon has a west? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_world
  11. Just tried playing Adam Miller's Dark Waters, but once I got control, the Free Camera was broken. It would not rotate automatically to follow my moving character's facing. So, no more of that. Of course, now I want to start back on building my campaign. *sigh* never enough time in the day
  12. 8 is the second worst FF since it came to Sony. 10 being slightly whinier. I swear, the main character of 10 probably cuts himself at night.
  13. My WMP playlist right now: Let Go - Frou Frou Must Be Dreaming - Frou Frou Star of Tears - Yasunori Mitsuda Small Two of Pieces - Yasunori Mitsuda Spirit (Kokoro) - Yasunori Mitsuda Fatal Fight - Yuki Kajiura Mad World - Gary Jules Red Fraction - MELL It's a collection of Xenogears/Saga lyricals, the Black Lagoon opening theme, and a few pieces that are just beautiful to listen to. No, I'm not gay, I'll cut you.
  14. Then there's only one major developer making RPGs.
  15. RPGs, there aren't even five major companies. Just two, now. Obsidian and Bioware. And I'm not so sure about Bioware anymore. If you want to include action RPGs and games that fall slightly between the two, then you get quite a few more. Even more if you are including MMORPGs. Top 5, including everything commonly attached the RPG label and assuming you mean only for PC and video format (this is to exclude Pen & Paper, or electronically published works in the same style) 1. Obsidian (only company to make a good adventure oriented RPG in years) 2. CCP (EVE Online has more genuine roleplaying potential than any other game out there) 3. Blizzard (The accomplishments and accessibility of World of Warcraft are incredible) 4 & 5. As of yet undecided between a few freelance Neverwinter Nights module makers.
  16. Not much of a long wait, they are all out. And by "they are," I mean "it is."
  17. I have a saying, "if you're not cheating, you're not really playing." I should stop saying it, nobody will play cards with me anymore.
  18. Since I'm done with Xenosaga, I'm much more free in my playtime. Though, not on Wednesdays.
  19. I consider Dark Messiah of Might and Magic to be one of the best PC games of the past couple years. However, impressions of the game may be different depending on playstyles. I judge most action RPGs that have a stealth option by the playability of stealth characters. Oblivion = fail. DMoMM = own and win
  20. I bought 5 billion - 4,999,999,999
  21. I think I just beat Xenosaga Episode III. Erde Kaiser Sigma is one sick spell, especially with the Heaven's Door ring. Kill the final boss for only 2 EP! Aww
  22. DOWNLOADING NOW!
  23. I kinda presumed this was a thread on games that we actually know are coming, not just wishful thinking.
  24. Nah, it leaves you too exposed to the "we're just very good friends" scenario. I recommend this: enlist said girl to help you find your perfect partner in doing so, obviously identify all the qualities you are looking for (don't be tempted to make cheap sexist and lookist comments) coincidentally, it will become obvious that she shares (all!) these qualities in searching, you must also endeavour to appear totally desirable (to her as well as others), so no awful personal hygiene etc; appearing vulnerable to her (and no-one else) is typically good (if she is after the sensitive type), although it can backfire; do date her suggestings, and this will help:show her how much others like dating you give you some practice to do in the meantime [*]eventually (not too early) try to engineer some direct comparisons between her soon-to-be-ex and you, in things that you are confident with and better at (like philosobabble, for example ) If that doesn't work, you'll have found someone else in the meantime, anyway. This is why I don't date. You silly humans overcomplicate the entire thing. That, and the fact that women want 3 things I either don't have or would rather not give them. Time, money, attention.
