How the hell do they come up with 1 BILLION dollars worth of damages? Every single home would have to average $666,666 in value. While I know San Diego is expensive I seriously doubt that number. Because it's not confined only to homes. Businesses, property (vehicles and non-developed land included), state property. And I think in their estimates of damages they're including costs for combating the blazes.

I'd be surprised if WotC let Obsidian rewrite their cosmology. Since nobody else is bothering with spoiler tags, I won't either to say this, despite my best efforts, I wasn't able to bring Myrkul back. I wanted to be his friiiend. But no, he wanted to be a jerk, so I had to beat him up. Same thing. Obsidian probably isn't allowed to resurrect Myrkul anymore than they are allowed to tear down the wall. Or any more than you could have resurrected Bhaal in Baldur's Gate. I would have loved to have tried.

I would never expect anything like how you describe a relationship in an RPG. That would be the most boring RPG of all time. I disagree. It was very much focused that you had to be the TNO for the entire plotline to work. You're obviously missing a track here. The TNO could easily have been any race, had any hair color, had any starting class, had any starting feats. It still would have been the TNO. And none of this is limited by the design limitations you think existed in the 90s. At no point was his hair color or outfit so critical to the story that it would have required multi-DVDs to account for.

The text and story of PS:T was actually pretty neutral in regards to class or race with few exceptions. It wouldn't have mattered. In regards to The Witcher, you're playing a pre-set character. Geralt. You can't customize "your" character because it's not really your character. It's Andrzej Sapkowski's character. A character he created.
