Final Fantasy VII,a game with bad graphics but great gameplay
Tale replied to The Owner's topic in Computer and Console
I keep seeing "I played FFVII when I was 10" and the only thing running through my head is JUST HOW GOD DAMN OLD I AM?! Jesus christmas. I'm too young for you people to make me feel old. I can't say I like 6 more. I've played 6 3 times and I can never bother playing very far past the end of the world. It's terribly awesome up until that point. But shortly thereafter it starts to feel like the game is phoning it in. -
Just exaggerate the melee from Uncharted. That'd be nice!

You couldn't do that in 2, the radios were nanite things. Yes, you could. No, they weren't. (actually they were, but only for plot relevant characters)

Final Fantasy VII,a game with bad graphics but great gameplay

The gameplay was well passable at the time. The story's not grand, but it's good. What's best is the characters. Each of whom are all generally likeable with their own stories to tell. It's not so much that it's one great story, it's that it is multiple good stories. -
You are misreading, but he did word it kind of funny. He's against knocking every guard you come across out without their being any consequences. Ideally, knocking guards unconscious should raise suspicion and alarm. Even if the guard is never found.

This test generally put me as an anarchist with communist tendencies. Sometimes I'm closer to Ghandi, sometimes I'm closer to to down the middle and at the bottom anarchism. It's bunk either way. You ask me these completely out of context general idea questions and I'm going to answer out of ideals, not my real world stance. I'm with Gorgon on thinking that many of the questions are stupid. Edit: And when the heck did Astrology start to apply to political persuasion?

I really liked how Blood Money did it. You don't go around trying to be unnoticed taking everyone out. You make it look like you belong there. That's how Assassin Creed mostly handles it, too, but it has a very simple system of just pressing a button to suddenly fit in. Metal Gear Solid tries to be better about it, but not too hard. In 2 and 3 if you knock a guy unconcious or kill him, sometimes someone will come looking when he doesn't report in. However, they don't find it weird that he's got a sleeping dart stuck in his neck and if you knock out or kill the other guy, you have nothing at all to worry about. Which is actually still a more complicated and interesting system than others use, but the net effect on the player's actions seems insignificant. I too would prefer a more interesting stealth system than hiding in dark rooms and around corners while knocking guards out who are in your way. Whether that be because of difficulty using that method or simply because of better stealth/infiltration options (such as disguises and scaling walls), I won't claim to be too picky about.

He's just that extreme. He probably runs with scissors, too.
-
Why would you presume he issued or requested it? Nothing about the image implies he's on official duty. I do agree with your unstated point that it's probably there just to look extreme, however.

Actually, Half-Life had that too. But the one in Turok 2 was cooler. It bored its way into skulls and then made them explode.

Turok 2 had that.

YOU BETTER GIVE ME LINKS OR I WILL...FIND...YOU Edit: WHAT?! No Rube?

I imagine he stole it off someone else's corpse. Hello, RPG. The two main activities are killing and looting.

Umm, none. But that's not the issue. I wasn't saying anything had "improved upon NOLF2," but that the aspects of it have individually been far surpassed. Stealth gameplay is far better in any recently modern stealth title, from Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell, to Thief. The FPS mechanics of any modern FPS that's not terrible beat out NOLF2's. And plenty of games are funnier. You can make a "whole package" argument in NOLF2's favor and are welcome to do so.

The executives turned it down. EA is now appealing to the stockholders. It should be interesting to note that Take Two is being sued by one of their own stockholders for the previous refusal.

I hope it has hobos. -
Could you give specifics on which parts of it that didn't age well (I'm assuming that's what you mean)? I have wanted to try NOLF2 ever since I finished and liked NOLF1. Well, almost none of it aged well. The humor hasn't even got a giggle out of me. As a stealth game, the stealth mechanics are completely uninteresting. As an action game it has no oompf. It really lacks anything to make it stand out compared to games of more recent interest. Except for the right to say that you fought ninjas in a trailer park during a tornado or to finally give you the experience of killing french mimes that we all have longed for.

After giving No One Lives Forever 2 another whirl, I think I'm going to uninstall. This game was probably a blast back in the day, but right now it feels like it's a bore. I should learn to recognize when I'm bored with a game when I start checking FAQ pages to see how far along I am because I hope I'm near the end.

It definitely sounds and looks more Bourne like. More about conspiracies from (potentially) rogue elements and going against them.

How is something wrong? The rules are the core of gameplay. Many people buy games for gameplay. I'm not seeing the issue. More games should focus on their rules. At the expenses of creativity? I do not think so. Sorry not a big fan of rules at the expense of creativity. Hate rule lawyers even more. How the heck is creativity even at odds with rules? That sounds like a leap. Rules are the means of players interacting with a system. Players interacting with a system is the core of gameplay. Better focus on rules should lead to better interaction. Whether it's more consistent interaction, more comprehensive, or just more interesting. Unless by "rule implementation" you're meaning "strict adherence to rules designed for a different system." But then the problem is poor implementation, not lack of creativity. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding your language.

Query: Who is planning on getting the PC version?

Side note: Left 4 Dead developers Turtle Rock Studios are officially part of Valve now.

Why I just gave Puzzle Quest a few rounds, myself! I still have barely touched Pokemon. Only thing I did was selected my starter (the penguin, damnit, because penguins are awesome). I think I'll give No One Lives Forever 2 another go tomorrow. I hate having to start over, but the widescreen trick for the game is incompatible with old savegames. Edit: Or I'll cheat to get to my old point, YEAH!
