  1. Companion quests (for those whose quest isn't when you get them) seem to be tied to two different thing: 1) Comments they make, initiated by triggers. 2) Time. For Veronica, what got her to offer her quest to me was
  2. Oh, someone's asking about Veronica's dress?
  3. Force Unleashed II should arrive tomorrow. Squee!
  4. Completed the game last night. Level 25. On terms of bugs, here's the ones of note. Maybe two crashes the entire game. One hard lock. One quest I was unable to do due to what seemed a bug. Oh, and companions like getting stuck on stuff. Veronica will occasionally start running away before returning to her senses and running back. ED-E likes to get stuck in cliff faces and doorway arches.
  5. I couldn't do Veronica's quest. Her quest has 3 options, all of which are an alternate entry into other quests. Two of which I'd completed in a way incompatible with Veronica's quest. The third and my only remaining option supposedly has multiple completion paths, but I couldn't find the others. The suggested path for that third option will require 100 lockpicking to complete.
  6. 90 in Repair lets you access the Jury Rigging perk. I can repair That Gun with a 9mm and my Anti-Materiel rifle with Varmint rifles. I could repair my leather armor, reinforced, with whatever light piece of armor I picked up off an enemy. Whatever. A bleeding Brahmin suit. At 100 repair (and with hand loader), you get access to .50 MG Match Hand Loaded. Since you have Hand Loader, you'll get lots of cases, so the only hard to find bit is the primer. I have no idea what this ammo does as I was so close to end game I had no reason to continue making my own ammo, but since it requires 100 repair and hand loader, it has to be awesome.
  7. I didn't mean to talk my way to the ending, but since I had 8 int and 25 levels, I didn't know what to do with the points but put them in speach! Sneak, Speach, Guns, Repair were all 90-100. Stopped putting points in Survival after 60, since I had more food than I knew what to do with and no reason to continue cooking. Got a new game coming Tuesday, so giving this a break. In about a week it'll be time for either my James Bond knockoff or my 10 int SCIENCE ALL UP IN THIS DESERT pacifist. Point of annoyance. Way end game spoiler so tagging it. Not a quest reward per se. I completed a quest, then talked to another guy who gave it to me. The guy only had tangential (and non-waypoint) connections to the quest, but liked my outcome. And you're right that it's WW.
  8. Time for some jealous faces. Yes, that is solid gold with diamonds.
  9. Veronica's quest Option 1: Old quest, I chose something different. Option 2: Old quest, I destroyed what she's after. Option 3: RADIATION, lots and lots of radiation. And Glowing Ones.
  10. It was a great single player game. I had no interest in the multiplayer. It didn't strike me as worth more than a rental, however.
  11. Did you rush through? Stores stock more stuff as you level. Gun Runners has tons. I have to go hunting for an Anti-Materiel rifle now. I just got the perk that lowers gun strength requirement by 2. Also, just got both my repair and guns at 90. Not really raising them since I see no point in going further and might stumble on a book.
  12. I can't look at enemies without their body parts violently exploding. It's like I have bloody mess, though I know I didn't pick it. *point pistol at Gecko outside of VATS range* *pull trigger* *head explodes* I kind of miss enemies just falling down dead.
  13. Hit level 14, had 90 repair, so picked up Jury Rigging. Time to bring That Gun out! And a hunting rifle because I haven't used a two hander at all yet. Now to find a scope for it. Maybe silencer. That'd be sweet.
  14. GamesRadar review: 9/10 imo fallout 1 had way worse bugs than fallout 2. either way, i don't complain about bugs unless they make me restart the whole game when im 3/4 of the way done. fallout 1 did this to me, and arcanum did this to me. Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete did that to me. Though it was more like "forced me to restart the game right before the final cutscene, but after beating the final boss."
  15. I saw one at the merchant in Good Springs waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back.
  16. Buy the shovel, there are none to be simply found that I can see.
  17. Easter eggs as random things in the wild. Like Star Wars reference or Indiana Jones reference. Aliens attacking.
  18. Ahh damn, I wish I had speech. I think I have whiplash from that.
  19. Why would I want to talk to Benny? I can't speak lead.
  20. Even though invisible war was fine. The main problems with it were engine limitations and console concessions. The parts that ignoring would ignore were the good bits.
  21. I've seen it posted that whatever they do, you need to drop it first, then pick it up, to make it do it.
  22. Publisher, in my experience. By quite a bit. I know a studio that actually only has one in-house "tester" and his responsibilities are far more than test.
  23. I've seen reviews that didn't mention bugs at all. There was one guy who mentioned that he had two installs, one was buggy, one was not buggy. So it might be a hit or miss thing.
  24. You can tinker with their navigation? That's boffo. I fully expect the slide show at the end to reveal they made it there. There being they crashed into the desert and died.
  25. Deus Ex 3? Oh dearie. A game where your character is a part of a nanomachine hivemind with the rest of humanity. Or maybe you start off on the fringe where you've avoided conversion and can fight the system.
